Renouncing The Word Because of Others' Sins
CoolWaters replied to oldiesman's topic in About The Way
What is, WTH? That twi has only fool's gold in a fool's pocket? That tossing it all out won't hurt anything...except the fool's feelings? -
OK...if you say so...but I really think Pat's hair actually displays that it's been pulled...whereas your hair is simply gone...and that could be for any reason... LMAO! ;)--> :D--> :P--> (Don't worry...the women in my family tend to go bald...and I ain't winning the bet in that area!) I get your point better now. TYVM. :)-->

I also happen to know that of the 6 child victims of twi (that I know of), 3 of them want nothing to do with "god", the "bible" or religion at all. Some witness. -
Stop following me around, OM! ;)-->

I hear ya Raf. I made some of the same warnings. In fact, I was pretty harsh with Pat when he first posted all of this. But there's got to come a time and a place where a man can get a high 5 from people...ya know? And the information we were given was of all pro se litigants, making no distinction of cases brought or cases defended by pro se litigants. Maybe I'm just not used to the way men talk to each other. I've been told that before...that men are pretty harsh with one another and think nothing about it...whereas if a woman were to talk to another woman in the same manner and tone, there'd be tears, nails and hair pulling!

Geeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzusssssssssssssss!!!!!!!! Pat did this pro se. That means he did this representing himself. According to the paperwork we were given by the clerk of the district court when we filed in Fed Court, above 90% of pro se cases are thrown out as soon as a motion for summary judgement is filed because this is the stage where that many pro se litigants become hopelessly lost. Pat carried it all the way to settlement. Now some of you armchair lawyers get your a$$e$ out there and do some pro se stuff against a team of lawyers and see how far you all get. I am shocked, absolutely shocked, that this is the treatment Pat is receiving. The PA case was settled, too...and PA used attorneys...and PA was not so forthcoming with what happened in that settlement... Now I see why. Sheesh!

Ummmm... Define "real", please. Scientifically speaking, the chair is a chair only because we see it as a chair...but it's really just a lot of space with light being bent a certain way.

"Wanna bless me?" The literal according to usage here was always, "I'm such a lazy f**k, so do my chores for me so that you can have a perty crown in heaven."

Psssst...Pat... These guys helpin' ya brush up for the next go around? Tee hee. You know in your heart you did good. Be at peace.

OM, You are hardened. -
Hmmm... When I was in twi they boasted of 40,000+.

Pat, I am proud of you!!!!!!!!! In my book, you are David to twi's Goliath!!!!!!! Maybe you didn't bring them down finally and forever, but you sure did make it a whole lot easier for the next David. Something I say a whole lot is "life is a relay race: no one person does it all". You forced twi to admit to presenting falsities to the courts...falsities that can be presented from now on whenever twi tries to use them again...and they will try to use them again. You have the information out in public for anybody to see and use from now on. NO MORE BEHIND-THE-SCENES BACKROOM LEGAL TRICKS FOR TWI!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!! I didn't have the gonads to do this, Pat. You did. And you came out virtually unscathed. I am proud of you!

Hmmmm... Spanked or not spanked... I dunno... Statistically speaking, above 90% of pro se cases in Federal Courts get tossed out of court in the first go-around... Pat went the distance... Even to the point that he was able to file a motion for summary judgement... Which is usually the last trick a team of lawyers pull against a pro se litigant because most pro se litigants lack the skill to answer such a motion... And twi had 4 lawyers wracking their brains against one pro se litigant... A pro se litigant who not only stood them down, but turned their own game against them so well that they responded with a settlement offer... Which, I'd like to remind everybody, was an offer twi made after seeing Pat's list of witnesses... Hmmm.... Sounds to me like twi didn't want the courts to hear certain testimonies... And so the settlement offer... Spankie spankie on twi's butt! Just remember, folks... If all twi wanted was the domain names, they had other options besides costly court proceedings.

Renouncing The Word Because of Others' Sins

OK, fair enough. See, I did the very same thing. I don't know if you remember, but I was a strong voice that said, "don't throw out the baby with the bathwater". Heck, when I first found an extwi message board my first post was a lengthy one chastising people for badmouthing vpw and not getting out of twi if they didn't want to be there. I know that Hope remembers how I lit into a person because he/she wouldn't just walk away from his/her family and friends and get out of twi if he/she thought that was what God wanted. OM, I was a dyed-in-the-wool twigite. For many years after I left twi I thought that I would one day go back...after twi had "cleaned house" to my standards. I yearned for the days of "free love and godly fellowship with the believers". So much so, in fact, that when I found out that the man who undershepherded me in twi had a home fellowship of his own running, I was willing to drive 130 miles round trip every week to attend. When that same man opened a church, I made that same drive faithfully for 2 years, faithfully gave the church my tithes and offerings, and was still so very dipped in the twi mindset that when my husband was in a near deadly head-on collision, I conspired with the pastor against my husband...because my husband surely was reaping the fruits of his unrighteousness. (There's a thread around here somewhere in which I publicly apologize to my husband.) So I truly get what you are saying. What triggered my total rejection of all of that? OM, holy spirit revealed many things to me...and opened my eyes to many things...particularly about how the mindset that I learned in twi was the root cause of the destruction of many families...and particularly the children in those families. That was in March of 2002...14 years after the whole Alaska fiasco where all of the destruction of the families and children at the hands of twi members and "leadership" had happened. Do you see, OM, that, even when branch leaders and twig leaders were convicted of child abuse and pedophilia, I still held to the mindset for many, many years? Do you see, OM, that I didn't just reject everything because of the sins...the crimes...of many...that I still "stood"...I still doggedly held onto what I had learned in piffle? But holy spirit had had enough of my foolishness...and the destruction of my family because of my foolishness. It takes a work of holy spirit to open people's hearts and minds in such a deep and abiding manner. I sure wasn't doing it of my own accord. That's why I'm not here to argue you into changing your mind. I can't. And you can't change your mind about what you know as "the word" just on logic. Which is as it should be, imo. All I hope to do here is to be an example to you. By sharing my life, by sharing my experiences, by sharing my journey, maybe something I say will be inspired and will sit right in your heart. And if nothing ever changes about what you think, do or say, it's not my job or concern to judge you as less of a person. It is, however, my job to speak up when I know to speak up...and never quit until I know otherwise. I learned that lesson in the most harsh manner anyone can learn a lesson...it came at the price of my husband's and children's well-being. The very worst thing twi taught to people was, "I have no friends when it comes to the word." That is the mindset that has brought about all of the destruction wrought by twi's hands... Because that is the mindset that rips apart the one body... Because for anyone to receive the gift, Jesus is first a friend before he is accepted as a saviour. -

OM, I think I finally understand what is going on. Are you equating what twi taught with "the word"? -
White Dove! You promised you would never say anything! ;)-->

And if it weren't for folks like Kit, I'd have never realized that nobody on earth really knows the difference between a sheep and a goat. Kit, you're pretty terrific.

You know me too well! (Except I don't Google...I Yahoo. Tee hee) Actually, what I've found is what I guessed anyway...but I'm not sure it's a complete answer to the question...
-
Oh! I missed the question! I used to know the answer... Let me fiddle around in the file cabinets of my mind and see what I can figure out...
