  1. How long have I been calling it 'Foxfire' and nobody said anything? Anyway...so much great info here! TYVM!
  2. sirguessalot on the GSCafe community (click on the little arrow next to the timestamp in the quote for the whole post...it's worth it):
  3. Great idea krys!!!!! /me grabs the brownies from the pot thread and offers them up as a peace offering to pond. My goodness all you all!!! The warm fuzzies are warmer and fuzzier!!!! :D The links are great!!!! I knew somebody (prolly everybody...ya think? lol) would think Easter Candy when they saw this thread. Hehehe. It works that way, too. :D It's nice to see the guys playing here. :D And just because you haven't been around very long...or just because you think I'm not including you as one of 'my Peeps' (which I am...'peeps' is just 'hood slang for either relatives, friends, or folks one hangs out with), don't let that stop you from warm fuzzying with us! GSCafe is about everybody no matter what. That's why it's so great here. +odd! I got goosebumps all over reading your post! We need a barefoot emoticon...and a feet washing one...and some others like that... +odd! Wow!
  4. OK, White Dove, I found your 'answer'...and I didn't know it was an answer...'cause it came across as flippant and more akin something you said to make your point...and it didn't include any explanation. I'm going to say something I've been hesitant to say because you tend to stop reading once it is said...but here goes anyway... On the face of things, no, truth is not made 'untruth' by the character of who is speaking. BUT (now please keep reading...OK?...it makes for a better conversation, imo)... Truth is made into a lie by the character of who is speaking. Hold on before you stop reading and fly into a rebuttal...OK? The truth is made into a lie by weaving it with lies, by changing the focus of the truth to the lie, by using the truth to perpetrate and perpetuate a lie, by...and you should be familiar with this concept...adding a word, changing a word, deleting a word, etc. So that what you have in the end is no longer the truth, but a pack of lies made somewhat believable with a smattering of half-truths here and there. And the result is always death...of some sort. Which is the fruit of pfal. Which means that, because of his character, vpw turned the truth into a lie. His fruit proves that out.
  5. Awwwww {{{{{Cathy!!!!!}}}}} And your baby born via chat room, too! :) Yep...you've been around awhile. I remember some of your earliest posts that I knew for sure were yours. So gutsy!!!! And so tender, too. Honest as the day is long on top of it all! Now with your voice on GS Radio to 'flesh out' your presence...well I just can't hardly wait for that Girls of GSCafe get-together!!!! (The one I want to host...and hope will catch on as an idea now that I've mentioned it out here in the forums. I've got the perfect spot for your RV right here in my drive! Got the whole block to ourselves, too.) As for cleaning up messes...don't worry 'bout it...Mess Happens...at least according to Forest Gump...hehehehe.
  6. OM! You've got it!!!! :D :D :D What we are given at the time of our new birth is not, shall we say, 'for this world'. It is held for us against that day. Everything up until that day is a mess of unrighteousness that takes constant vigilance, constant care to manage, to kill off (as in 'crucified with Christ'). And the only way...that I have seen...the bible shows us as to how anybody knows if we or anybody else is pressing towards that high mark is the fruit of the spirit. It is this fruit that helps us know the difference between the sheep and the wolves...and a whole lot of other things...
  7. Well, pond, even you are included in my warm fuzzies...to remind me how things can get...there but for the grace of God go I...and all that...
  8. Well, OM, if Foxfire lets me down I'll give it a whirl. Thanks! :)
  9. Rejoice...in all seriousness...for years now I've wondered if vpw had mental health issues with audio and visual hallucinations. I'm not poking fun or making mockery here...mental health is too serious of a subject for that...I have seriously considered that the man was suffering.
  10. WhiteDove, I've asked you this before and you ignored me...and so I'm going to ask it again...and maybe you will answer it. Why is all that stuff about how a person handling holy scripture should behave him/herself even in the bible?
  11. 10 years of therapy @ $65/hr, 1 hr/wk...............$33,800.00 Major surgery to remove head from rear end......$45,000.00 One day hanging out with GS buddies....................Priceless! Think Cheers theme song Sometimes I wanna go where everybody knows my name...and they're always glad I came (well...not always...but you miss me when I'm gone!). Last night in chat we were talking about how long many of us have been together on the 'net...from trancechat to WayDale and all incarnations of GreaseSpot Cafe. Me...I've been hanging out with many of you for 8 years! You all have been with me from WebTV to kick-butt computer with high speed...from dyed-in-the-wool twit to offshoot to paganism to church hopping...from raising my kids to watching my granddaughter grow up...from health to chronic illness and slowly back to health...from hell and back again and again. There have been so many times when it was too tough to make it through another day...and you all wouldn't let me do otherwise. In the last several months I've laughed more than I've ever laughed in my whole lifetime...because you all just crack me up! :D You all have shared your lives...here and one-on-one with me personally...and have allowed me to do likewise. From bickering to knock-down-drag-outs...from cute smiley emoticons to all-out love fests...you all bring it home and make it all good. My name is Vicky and I am an ex-way community addict. {{{{{Everybody}}}}} Thank you!
  12. Yep, toppie...Simon's told Paris to act her age several times. Of course, when she did, Simon complained. Called Paris "precocious" for doing Brittney(sp?)! Yet when Kellie did something similar Simon called her "a naughty little minx". What's with that? Simon can picture Kellie being sexy but can't picture Paris being sexy? Uh huh. I see how it is...sigh. Anyway, Elliot is growing on me. Maybe because I learned that he struggles with diabetes in a big way (which is probably the problem with his teeth)...maybe because he just stays soooo adorable while the others are getting way too commercial and all like that...ya know? Speaking of commercial and all like that...what is up with Kellie's stylists????? She's looking more and more like a very bad mix of Marie Osmond and Barbie...and less and less like Kellie Pickler. Did you all see that hairdo last night????? So Lisa is gone. Well, she started off great...then something happened. Don't know what, but she never did get back to the place she was at in auditions. I was surprised to see Katharine in the bottom 3. Hmmmm! Next week's theme is Country. Time for Kellie and Bucky to outshine most of the rest...if they can...but I have a feeling Taylor is gonna walk away with the Country theme. And I think Katharine has a good shot at redeeming herself with the Country theme...if she will.
  13. I voted for Flash chat (now known as Flesh chat). BUT that was before Foxfire entered my life. Can my vote be changed, GT?
  14. WW! Firefox is the best tip I've ever received online! Now my Java works in Live Chat, browsing is like 50x faster, I control what goes onto/into my 'puter, and oh MAN those extensions!!!! I'm poking around the Developer extensions and whoa! Then there's this stacker extension thingy that stacks browser windows and remembers how they were stacked, where you were at, and everything in case everything shuts down from some reason...all with an 'undo' option! And it seems to fix anything that's wrong when it hits on it...even in my 'puter. Or have I inadvertently done something wrong? I dunno, but so far, so good. TYVM!!!!!
  15. Aha!!! WW turned me on to Firefox and now I can get all the bells and whistles and hear all the sounds in Live Chat. It takes 5 years to load, but I think I'm gonna have fun in Live Chat now. So it doesn't matter to me any longer.
  16. Paris had the moves, the 'tude and the voice last night! I'm not all into that kind of stuff, but when someone's good, they're good. Hehehe. I'll be you don't like Fantasia, either. Hehehehe. Edited because I csws.

    Moving Day

Oh Shell! I was lacing up my Woo Hoo Dancing Shoes and getting ready to throw you one helluvapahty... Sigh. LOL Moving days ala twi...only what we could pack in our trunk and backseat. Lost a bunch of memories that way. Sigh.
  18. OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE DREADED REFORMATTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah yeah yeah...if I have to I will...but as along as things are working without doing so, I'll not do it! Hehehehehe.
  19. WW, Doing the Firefox thing now. Like but not used to it so not comfortable with it yet. TYVM! **************** OM, Brand new mother board, processor, tower, etc 18 months ago. **************** Rick, It won't let me c&p anything without paying first. Sigh. Later on I will run my other programs and see what I get and what I can send you. **************** TY all VM!!!! :D
  20. I've done everything I know how to 'fix' IE...including installing, uninstalling, re-installing...blah blah blah. Nothing. I still get this error message: "0xC0000005 iexplore.exe application error The application failed to initialize properly". My file fix system failed to fix the file. Other IE programs (Yahoo! in this case) don't work...except one...AOL Explorer...and it's the ONLY broswer that will work. Help!
  21. Drat!!!!! I thought this was the forum's version of the nakee chat party.... ^_^
  22. What a disappointing evening, imo. Lisa did Kelly Clarkson...but couldn't. Ace...I couldn't get beyond why his hair looked like the cats had sucked on it all night, so I don't even know what Ace did. Kellie was off key and screeched. Mandisa screeched. Chris was pert near boring. Katharine was off key or something not so good. Bucky did pretty good, imo...better than I've ever seen him do. Elliot impressed me for the first time. Taylor took it down a notch and did a really nice soulful thingy that I would love to have a CD of all such thingies by him. My girl Paris walked away with the show tonight, imo. Tomorrow night we'll see. At this point I can't say.
  23. It's a toll free number...and you can vote as often as you can get through in the 2 hours immediately after the show. You vote for those you want to see stay. The one who gets the lowest number of votes is the one who leaves. I vote...even put the number on redial because it's so hard to get through.
  24. Galen! :D Mark! :D Gotta love you guys!
  25. Thank you to everybody! 79 votes have been registered. Here is how the poll breaks down (at least so far): Way Corps non-grad/glad I didn't finish [ 8 ] [10.13%] Average PFAL grad/mixed feelings [ 8 ] [10.13%] Advance Class grad/feel the knowledge is useless outside of twi [ 7 ] [8.86%] Way Corps grad/rue the day I fell for any of it [ 6 ] [7.59%] Leadership of some sort/mixed feelings [ 6 ] [7.59%] Way Corps grad/value what I learned and stood for [ 5 ] [6.33%] Way Corps grad/mixed feelings [ 5 ] [6.33%] Leadership of some sort (twig, branch, limb, etc.)/value the experience and what I was able to do for people [ 5 ] [6.33%] Average PFAL grad/feel it was a waste of time and money [ 5 ] [6.33%] Way Corps grad/wish it was done the way I thought it was going to be done [ 4 ] [5.06%] Advance Class grad/mixed feelings [ 4 ] [5.06%] Average PFAL grad/thankful for the knowledge and would take the class again [ 4 ] [5.06%] Way Corps non-grad/wish I had finished [ 2 ] [2.53%] Way Corps non-grad/mixed feelings [ 2 ] [2.53%] Advance Class grad/value the knowledge [ 2 ] [2.53%] Leadership of some sort/wish I'd never been in such a position [ 2 ] [2.53%] Advance Class grad/wish I didn't know some of the stuff [ 2 ] [2.53%] Way Corps grad/wish I'd never experienced Way Corps but glad for the twi experience [ 1 ] [1.27%] None of the above [ 1 ] [1.27%] Average PFAL grad/wish I had gone farther in twi [ 0 ] [0.00%] Don't know that these results say anything specific except that zero "average PFAL grads" wish they had gone farther in twi. I was surprised to see that no clear pattern came of this. Before this poll I honestly thought that there was an obvious division between those who were higher up on the way tree and those who were farther down the way tree. What this poll has shown me is that such a division is in my head. I need to look at that, imo. Again, thanks everybody!
