  1. The Orange Cat I spotted was early yesterday morning on the Users List (down at the bottom of the front page to this place). I really did see him! :D
  2. Well...you can cook if you want...I'll be cooking some stuff myself...I was just thinking that for those coming in from out of town and staying in hotels/motels, a kitchenette probably wouldn't be a requirement...between what you and I would bring (and maybe what Sudo would send with Suda...hehehe) and the plethora of scrumptious dining opportunities here in KC. :D I think I'd like to go out to Basehor or one of the other wineries in the area. Whaddya think? Also, City Market is a must do, IMO. Winslow's BBQ (right in City Market) is to live for, IMO, and Winslow's always has some really great local blues/jazz/rock bands performing live out on the patio. I've been looking at things like Starlight Theater, KC/Swope Park Zoo, all the art galleries and museums, and such...this stuff is unbelievably expensive these days! And not real entertaining/exciting, either...IMO. Whassup with that????? Shoot! Even a carriage ride around the Plaza costs a king's ransom these days. Sheesh! Well, with a couple of seasoned locals like me and you, the tourist rip-offs can just forget about ripping off any GGGW gals!!!! Hehehe. Also, the date was picked to avoid any Royals' home games. But if anybody really wanted to go to a game (hint hint LOL), I'm sure lodging could be found this far in advance. KC Metro is quite a huge area... Whatever you all are into, I'm sure me and bowtwi can figure out a way to get you all doing it. :D
  3. Suda you are too terrific for taking things in hand, setting this tentative date, getting your bonus points together for lodging...and all that you're doing!!!!!! TYVM!!!!!! I don't know how much anyone wants to spend for lodging...what you all want as amenities with the lodging (besides a kitchenette), and such. Let me know...so's I can do some 'local' snooping around. (My personal recommendation is probably far, far below you all's standards.) If one does the 'touristy' stuff in KC, one will be taken to the cleaners for their cash, plastic, first-born child and grandchild, the mortgage on their home, the pink slips to their vehicles...well, you get the idea. Hehe. Anyway, on Friday and Saturday nights from probably May forward me and hubs have a commitment from about 4pm-about 2am. (Hopefully. I will know more in a couple of weeks if this project is a go or not.) But that commitment is in the heart of historic Westport...and if you all can't find something to do in Westport, then you all aren't looking! :) And...that commitment will be a form of night life...so dropping in to see me every now and again would be simple...and expected! LOL Westport is also very near the Country Club Plaza, Union Station, Crown Center, Isle of Capri Casino and many, many other fantastic places to hang out, shop, dine, drink, and everything a bunch of wild and crazy girls could want. :D And that's just a small area in the heart of KC. So you all let me know what you're thinking of doing for the weekend...and then I can better guide you to the best of the best in my wunnerful city! :D As for cooking/dining... There are sooooooooo many excellent but inexpensive dining opportunities in KC that it is often the case that buying groceries, preparing meals, cleaning up, etc. ends up being more expensive and time-consuming than it is worth. In Westport alone the dining opportunities range from street vendors to fine dining. And the Plaza? Good gawd amighty! The Plaza is nothing if it isn't a dining and drinking mecca! LOL Then at Union Station and Crown Center (right across the street from one another) there are absolutely terrific little cafes and shops. And delivery and 'happy hour' are like art forms in KC. LOL So let me know. And oh! There's bowtwi chiming in!!!! Between the two of us I don't think cooking will be necessary. And I am sure nobody will get bored! :) This is getting more and more exciting!!!! Yay!!!!
  4. OK, Kathy. I get you now. :D I apologize for misunderstanding you. Thank you very much for taking the time to clarify things for me. There is so much passion, meaning deep feeling, surrounding this subject. Especially for those of us who have been victims, huh? I get carried away in that passion...and to read my posts..that passion comes across as anger, hurt, mockery, and a whole lot of other things I am not feeling towards any person in particular...but towards the problem...and towards the reality that, with all of the brainiacs in this world who come up with stuff that could not be called anything but miraculous, there has been no satisfactory resolution to this particular problem. I have no answers, either. My participation in discussions such as this one is more along the lines of 'think tank' or 'focus group'. I want to get the thoughts out there...get everybody's thoughts out there...get the feelings out there...explore those thoughts and feelings...melt things down...shape other things...maybe do that over and over again until there is some formation of even a direction to be heading to look for resolutions to this particular problem. You've not offended or hurt me at all. I apologize for offending and/or hurting you. The offenses and hurts I feel have nothing to do with anybody here for sure. I apologize to anybody here that I have hurt and/or offended. My fervor was never directed towards any person. I apologize for not making that perfectly clear.
  5. Have some brownies, Garth...they help good!
  6. (Yeah...I've been eating brownies in the conspiracy thread in Open...but this isn't really off topic if you think about it...and who's saying what on this thread...and about who and what is being discussed...) Those of us who love Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Futurama, Arrested Development, etc., are vindicated! From Wikipedia information on Double Entendre: So there you have it, folks! All we need to do is take this thread (and others like it), use it as a sitcom script, and we'll all get rich quick! Whoa!
  7. Mark's a prophet????? Whoa! (Looking around for that little bowing emoticon....) I'm glad my God is the real one, too. :) TYVM for His blessing for me! Right back atcha, dude.
  8. Brilliant! I can't believe I never thought of doing this!
  9. Pssst...hint here...I use 'sheepskin' as a double entendre...
  10. OM, I'll bet you'd argue 'the word' with Elijah...and call him 'ungodly', too. Exactly what god are you referring to when you say 'ungodly'? I ask because the condemnation of idolators is one of the very basic messages of the bible... ::shrug:: Have you peeked under the sheepskin of your 'god' lately? I hear it's fake...
  11. Good to hear from you and hear good from you! (And you're another UFO and ALF sighting here! Just slipped in before I caught ya. )
  12. Man oh man! These flashbacks are wicked premo today! I just had one down in the D word basement. Whoa! Anyway... A former city councilman where we used to live (hiya White Dove...I'm sure you know who I'm talking about) was in the Pentagon when things went down. He never disputed that a plane hit the building. Of course, he is on the payroll of the gubbment.... Do do do do do do do do....(Twilight Zone music) Back to my flashbacks now... Especially if that Strangest of Toms is having them, too... Where are those brownies....
  13. This is not only a condemnation of Wierwille, but thousands who are being falsely accused of idolatry. What Mark said is a condemnation of the teachings of vpw. If people follow teachings that lead to idolatry, and they hang onto those teachings and hold to the beliefs of those teachings, then they are idolators. The condemnation of idolators is a basic biblical concept. Unless, of course, one follows idolatrous teachings that lead one to think that grace negates all punishment, judgment and condemnation in the bible...
  14. Whoa! That acid that twig leader gave me once has hellacious flashbacks, man. Oh, wait... This is real, isn't it? Or is it? Whoa. Twig messed me up, man.
  15. Used to Frequent but now Observe and Adorable Life Form posters have been spotted right here at GSC!!! Hiya Orange Cat and ZixarReturns. I really did see you two!
  16. I vote for 'just a cycle that has already occurred over and over before'. I mean, Mother Earth has every right to freely avail herself of healing. (On a side note that I hope doesn't get this thread moved down to the D word basement...If such things are perceived as normal cycles for the good of the planets/universe, then the bible makes just too much sense when it talks about the 'end times'. )

    CABIN FEVER

Whoa! Is that a lot of people with the exact guess? The worst case of Cabin Fever I ever had was 1986...waiting for spring AND waiting for an overdue baby. That was also the year that Challenger exploded (in January), twi's limb leader for Alaska declared our baby to be 'a child of satan' (in February), and the wrongful death lawsuit my brother filed (concerning our mother's death) turned real nasty and I got subpoenaed (in March). Sadness, anger, fear, tension, stress... Between January and May, 1986, I ended up spending a total of 4 weeks in the hospital confined to bed because of it all. Whew! That was some bout of Cabin Fever I tell ya! But with the birth of our very healthy son (no horns or tail...sigh...hehe) came spring...and it was all good. :D
  18. No, VP taught a false, egocentric doctrine that led thousands down the road of idolatry. His sins were a by-product of that false doctrine. Yes! Well put, Mark. Thank you.
  19. We had a Pizza and Subs shop in Palmer...and we delivered. It was a blast! Thanks for the article/link. Brings back the days. :)
  20. All quotes taken directly from the above-referenced article: How about that!!! Not only has this perp been supported by colleagues, he has also undergone mental health counseling.Kinda shoots a hole in the theory that if society wasn't so mean and hostile towards them, then "even (potential) rapists and pedophiles can 'lead themselves not into temptation but deliver themselves from evil.'" Well I do declare! This ol' boy just couldn't catch a break from society, could he? Poor thang. Oh, yeah, this poor thang was exposing himself to so much danger. Poor thang. Oh, no, not at all! No 'failure' of anything here. What was there to 'uncover'? No 'crime' was committed. The ol' boy just had a healthy sexuality. Poor thang. That's it! This ol' boy just needs to get some stuff off his chest...relieve some tension...you know...maybe get some decent sexual activity even...as all good ol' boys know and understand. Poor thang. Of course he did. Doncha see it was a cry for help? He must have known that was a detective on the other side of his monitor. Poor thang.
  21. Chas...that site...well...it reads like the fragmented thoughts of the drunken, the stoned or the demented...or all of the above...or something that's just not right. I did a Yahoo! search (I've never really acclimated to Google) for "all sex is rape"...in quotes just like I'm writing it here...and came up with "about 1400" results. Didn't go much past the first couple of sites on page 2. Most of what I saw on page 1 was arguments over what was really meant when people have said "all sex is rape". ********************* Having been raped in nearly every way, over and over for years on end...and having had several accumulated years (meaning all of the instances I can remember added together) of loving sexual relationships...well, I'm pretty darned sure what rape is and is not. At least for me. Which may be the 'sticking point' in this discussion. Defining sexuality for me and defining rape for me seems to be generally acceptable in this discussion. However, when I or anyone else begins to define sexuality and/or rape in general in this discussion, a clamor (albeit a small one...maybe) seems to go up. From my experiences, my learning and my understanding, when rape happens, it can and often does happen in every aspect of being. Forced sexual intercourse is but one part of the definition of rape...even according to dictionaries. What twi has done and still does to so many people is rape of mind, spirit and personality. For far too many, this resulted in the rape of body. TWI's rape of mind, spirit and personality was and is the first act of rape. Likewise, what a pedophile does as his/her first act of rape is to rape the mind, spirit and personality of his/her victim(s). In either instance, the act of rape of the body is not always the result. In either instance, the first act of rape is the damaging act...the act that scars for life...the act that is irrevocable...the act that perpetuates itself regardless of the presence of an actual rapist. IMO...based upon my experiences, my learning and my understanding. Which is why I say that rape is not about sex, but about control and violence.
