  5. You know, its really sad that you have to behave almost like you're behind the iron curtain, or like you're in some fundamentalist Islamic country trying to leave without getting shot! For the WayGB that are reading this thread trying to figure out who the 'possessed traitor' is, think about how pathetic your situation is when you have to treat 'the Household of the Body of Christ' in such a fear driven and cowardly manner to where they have to 'sneak out in the dead of night' in order to avoid the Gestapo to get to freedom, hmmm? Power for Abundant Living, it is not! -->
  6. Ummmm, what parts did you snip out, hmmm? And frankly, I fail to see how what Spong said constitutes a 'hate article', as it were. ... Besides, I thought that we were above using 'politically correct' concepts like that. ;)-->
  7. Belle, Doncha just *love* it when extreme examples like this are usually portrayed as tho' they are the norm? And yet many of the same ones trying to convey this undercurrent are usually the same ones who whine about why the police are never there, and why there is such _lawlessness_ in the land nowadays. Makes you wanna throttle somebody, doesn't it? ;)-->
  8. "The ultimate form of child abuse!" :(-->
  9. dmiller, Now I wonder why it is that those 'die-hard' librarians (and thank God for them too! ;)-->) seem to have the most trouble with 'ultra-right religious teachings or (shudder) republican political platforms', hmmm? Oh and by the way, I dare say that MOST librarians (at least) would be for including reeading material from those 'ultra-right religious teachings or (shudder) republican political platforms' as well. And the same group has also been against censorship coming from the hard left fanatics as well. Many times. That's what happens when people try censorship as a means of propagating the gospel.
  10. > It was the first day of school and a new student named Pedro Martinez, the son of a recently immigrated Mexican restaurateur, entered the fourth grade. > > The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American history. "Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death?'" > > She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Pedro, who had his hand up. > > "Patrick Henry, 1775." > > "Very good!" apprised the teacher. "Now, who said, "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth?" > > Again, no response except from Pedro: "Abraham Lincoln, 1863." > > The teacher snapped at the class, "Class, you should be ashamed! Pedro, who is new to our country, knows more about its' history than you do!" > > She heard a loud whisper: "Screw the Mexicans!" > > "Who said that?" she demanded. > > Pedro put his hand up. "Jim Bowie, 1836." > > At that point, a student in the back said, "I'm gonna puke." > > The teacher glared and asked, "All right! Now, who said that?" > > Again, Pedro. "George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991." > > Now furious, another student yelled, "Oh yeah? Suck this!" > > Pedro jumped out of his chair waving his hand and shouting to the teacher, "Bill Clinton to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!" > > Now, with almost a mob hysteria, someone said, "You little ****. If you say anything else, I'll kill you!" > > Pedro frantically yelled at the top of his voice, "Gary Condit to Chandra Levy, 2001." > > The teacher fainted, and as the class gathered around her on the floor, someone said, "Oh s**t, we're in BIG trouble now!" > > Pedro whispered, "Saddam Hussein, 2003." :D-->
  11. Interesting marketing tactic: selling custom made printed cleaning rags on E-Bay. :D-->
  12. AOL? AO-Hell?? Now *that* is the true beginning of that long, steep road to H-E-double hockey sticks!! :D-->
  13. Whitedove, Reread what Wordwolf said as a clear indicator as to why this implication of 'it looks highly suspicious' falls flat. Ie., it isn't enough that its simply you and jonny vs 'the rest of us'. It takes more. It takes careful reading as to why people post like we post. Why 'the rest of us' doesn't seem to grasp why you view Harry Potter as spiriatually dangerous, and then use insinuating comments about those who are into Harry Potter, and yes, I agree with Wordwolf, they are there. Simple numbers alone don't tell the whole story. P.S., and even Wordwolf didn't totally disagree with you re: Harry Potter. Or didn't you catch that?
  14. Whitedove, One point that you do keep hammering on is this supposed premise that simply because you and Jonny don't agree wtih 'the rest of us', 'the crowd', as it were, that that's why we, 'the crowd', are 'taking you to task'. Nahhhh. I disagree with that rendering. It is always tempting to think that way, as it places the disagreer in a kind of 'I'm being persecuted' position. Sorry, but I believe that I know a lot of people posting here well enough to know that that overly simplistic portrayal doesn't wash.
  15. ... but at night, its ......... PARTY TIME ROUND THE STONEHENGE!!! :D-->
  16. It does look like a skull, doesn't it? "I *do* believe in ghosts, ... I *do*, I *do*, I *do* believe in ghosts!" :)-->
  17. First off, I wish to apologize for the intensity of my last post, WhiteDove. I could, and should, have put it better and more civilized. Basically my point is that I see no abuse in the Harry Potter books and movies, nor do I see anybody taking the books/movies more seriously than Yet Another Popular Fad that we Americans often take part in. And with that, I hope you have a great day. :)-->
  18. Whitedove, The *point* I was making was the comparison between the abuse in TWI, and the *NO* abuse supposedly suffered by those who read the book/watch the movie! Oh wait, there's spiritual suffering that isn't physical that comes from Harry Potter? Ok. Prove it! Or prove where Harry Potter is showing this selfsame abuse whereas things like Hansel and Gretel, Bewitched, Star Wars, and the like _fiction_. Yes. Fiction. Not real accounts. Like you aren't going to have the same things of 'devilish magic' occur with you that happened with the characters by reading said _fiction_. ... Ergo, NO abuse. Hell, there were even more radicals who took Dungeons and Dragons too seriously that led to abusive behavior than any of the Harry Potter afficienadoes, and they were in the small minority. Ridiculing or 'poking fun at' your religious beliefs? No more than you ridiculing either the pagan beliefs you deride, nor those who are really into Harry Potter. So please, spare us the 'suffering persecution for the Lord' act, ok? You aren't very good at it. --> P.S., oh and by the way, thanks for 'going easy on me'. I just tremble to think of what I would have went through if you really cranked it up. (posted with dripping sarcasm)

    Icon sizes

Is it me, or has more and more people's icons started getting larger, sometimes a lot larger? -->
  20. A-n-n-d-d how many kids/readers/other Harry Potter enthusiasts have been harmed to anywhere near that how TWI harmed people? ... Or any verifiable harm done at all? This should be good. ... (uh ohh, another subtle intimidation tactic employed by yours truly to silence people ..... as tho' that were *really* my vile intent to begin with. ((insert wicked laughter here))) -->
  21. Whitedove, Read the question again. Nowhere is the question stating that you have no right to speak your opinion, but questioning the purpose for and why you took the time to post your comments since you don't like Harry. It might look similar to denying you the right to post at first glance, but upon a more detailed look, its different. It gets to the reason why, rather than the simple request to stop posting. See?
  22. Ahem! Speaking of common English being lost on some folks ;)-->, ... I don't believe that they were questioning your right to state your opinion, but rather the logic and reasoning of your objections/points re: Harry Potter books. And even if some folks have taken umbrage to some of your points, that still doesn't qualify the said umbrage as denying your right to speak. And besides, ... how can they really actually *stop* you from posting, hmmmm? ... ... Cast a Harry Potter spell on your keyboard? :)-->
