Well, I would imagine that after about 20-30 minutes of that kind of haranguing, the thief would want to be shot just to end it all. So maybe the liberals aren't so soft on crime after all. ;)

Way to go Allan! Yet More 'Heavenly Wisdom' that heals and delivers --- NOT!!

(sigh) ((getting on my knees in begging position and putting on my best {{sniffles}} act)) :(

Awwright, what's with the limit on the number of smileys you can use in a single post? I mean, I can understand not wanting a whole page full of them, but I had to cut down on the number of them to about 6-7 in a row a recent post. What's up with that?

VPW's Source for the Law of Believing
GarthP2000 replied to Bob's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Overwhelm it's direction? ... with the admittedly strong nature of your message?? :D    WHOOO HOOOOO!! ((wiping the laughter tears away from my eyes)) That's rich, Smikeol. That is truly rich! :D Yah! Right! ... Kinda like VPW "had the earth shake under his feet" when he walked, ehh? (Dr. Evil voice) R-i-g-h-t! Thanks for that Laugh of the Day. B) -
"Young whippersnapper". Y'uns hear that? YOUNG!! We baby-boomers must be the most vain people on the face of the planet. ;) Yer a good man, Ron, I don't care what Chainclanker says about ya. :D

Abigail, In this case, whether they 'taught her how to think' or not is really irrelevent, as it doesn't take that much thinking to realize that there is something wrong with what she did. I'm sorry, but she can't use the 'I didn't realize what I was doing 'cuz I wasn't larned nuthin' at skool' excuse to get off. WHOO HOO! My first post here. :D

Trying out a few items here I like how you can do the bold, italics, and underline stuff. And you can preview your post too. :) And more smileys! B) But I miss the smiley hitting his head against the brick wall tho. And you can adjust the window length as well. and the font selections. I like! And different colors too! Overall, MUCH better. :D

"30 again!" HAH! I *wish*! Thanks for the birthday greetings, all. I'll relish being fifty ... (ahem) fifty on..... ((cough)) ... FIFTY ONE ... while on my rocker in front of my 'puter. (attach smiley with a beard here)

How 'bout a six pack o beer? Now those would be Norm's (of Cheers) thoughts. "What do you say to a mug of beer? ... Come to papa."
-
:D--> :D--> :D--> ROFLMAO!! :D--> :D--> :D--> Good one!
-
Not to worry. I won't. :D--> And I won't derail this thread by pointing out that what I see from various Calvinists and old John Calvin himself varies (often widely) from what you say about his theology. 'Nuff said about that.

Kinda like that one scene in Alice's Restaurant where, in the Army, you're 'inspected, injected, dejected, rejected, and see-lected'. (Or something to that effect; my old age hippy memory is going fast on me. "You can have anything you want (exceptin' Alice) at Alice's Restaurant"

I never had experience with Nazis either, yet that doesn't prohibit me ( or anyone else for that matter) to comment on them. Your point being ... ? Awwww, ain't that sweet. He likes me after all. ;)-->
-
But Howard, I'd (supposedly) be 'projecting' then. ;)--> Evan, The 'selfworthlessness' comment was referring to this 'gospel' that we humans are all worthless in and of ourselves (a belief that I no longer hold to, another reason why I now find Calvinism and other like forms of fundamentalism so repugnant; hope you aren't too shocked) that Momentus seems to have a twisted version of (of an already twisted opinion IMHO). Your own endeavor to 'project', by trying the 'project' argument on me, is duly noted. However, please speak for yourself, thank you.

Howie, Uhhmm, the word for today is sarcasm, which is what I used in my post that you refer to. 'Sar' for 'sar', and 'casm' for 'casm' (Oldie Saturday morning cartoon fans ought to recognize from which one this phrase comes from ;)-->) Howard, my connection to my pet peeve was with this Momentus 'logic' that has sometimes been illustrated in YOUR posts. Note that I 'connect' with the same 'logic' illustrated in other's posts as well. Oh, and no I don't totally disagree with what you have posted (I *do* believe that I also made that perfectly clear as well, hmmm?) And what I mentioned about that guy that Groucho talked about ain't propaganda, pal. As browbeating, guilt tripping attempts like that HAVE been done by various aforementioned Momentus 'facilitators' (gotta love them PC titles). Yeah, yeah I know, not all of them do that, and some of them might even be nice to ya; then again when any of them do that kind of abusive crap in the name of the organization, and Gee, they are still facilitators, well then, doesn't the org bear some form of culpability as a result? Hhhmmmm, Yet Another Connection here. STOP that, Garth! ;)--> Evan, Nahhh! Religious guilt tripping/brow beating that leads to possible suicidal tendancies aren't what I would regard as 'Gospel'. Yet More Self-Discovery about our supposed self-worthlessness as human beings, I imagine. But of course, I can't really say what you should be into. ... Different strokes and whatever floats your boat, I guess. :P-->
-
... not to mention so would your patient. Particularly as regards the drill! :D-->
-
Speaking of wounds, ... you seem to be focusing a lot on that wound of yours, Oldies. The one that festers on things Way and about the people who gripe about it. So why are you still griping, hmmm? ..... You addicted to your wound too?
-
Now we know where Ron lives, and what he looks like. Ask the seller a question: "Ron, you do know that that isn't a Chevy pickup, ..... don't you?" :D--> "Ohh wow, man! Dave's not here."
-
Hhmmm, I never told them who my twig coordinator was (I don't have one), and I'm registered and can get on the site. And I see where Smikeol is posting there. That probably explains why its so quiet here. :D-->
-
Now why would a person who would 'flip out' or otherwise object to it be necessarily unstable?
-
Yeah, but will it be the kind of stuff *she* will want (or need for that matter) to hear. :(-->
-
So why is it that when confronted with complaints, many of them I daresay honest ones, *they* then (seemingly at least) go into the 'pass the buck' mode (often by bringing up the "you're just trying to avoid self-responsibility" guilt trip), hmmm? Or why is it that those who are taking part, when they start asking the probing questions, they instead get the bum's rush out the door? (as per Groucho's experience) You see Ex10, this issue goes beyond the 'this program might not be for you' routine, unless we wish to make that same kind of argument re: the ((cough)) 'indepth spiritual training' of the Way Corp. :(--> It goes to what genuine abuse occurs in these sessions that you just can't lay at the feet of the convenient "you just have messy issues" excuse. I hope that wasn't too severe a form of 'crucifixion' I gave. -->
-
But...but...Groucho. Don't you know that *you* are responsible for allowing yourself to be in that situation to begin with. And it was *your* fault for asking too many probing questions. ;)--> No doubt that guy who lost his wife and kids and whose life went into the toilet; they'd probably lay all the responsibility and culpability all on him too, if they ever met up with him again. HCW, apparently these Momentus folks aren't as advertised, what with their song-and-dance about self-discovery, being biblically responsible and all. Remember, "They look good on paper, but in real life .....".
