Yeah well, snide remarks about one's weight is something that they can control too. Too bad they don't think about that. <_<

The one(s) that happen to be in power at any given time. At least until governments became more secular and distinct in relation to the church(es), and started copying the concept of separation of church and state from the U.S.

Oldies sayeth, And you wonder why a lot of us here give less and less creedance to what you say! And this goes for What The Hay too.

Oak, To give a little more details on the matter, I've heard that there are 1) strong atheists, who actually believe that there is no god, and 2) weak atheists, who don't go that far perse, but who themselves don't believe in any god. Six of one, half dozen of the other? Same thing? Not quite. Strong atheists make a positive claim that there IS no (or cannot be any) god. It goes beyond their personal opinion/belief to a matter of fact (to them anyway). While weak atheists don't/can't say for 100% certainty (to them) that there isn't any god, it's just that they don't believe there is any. It's like the difference between saying "There is no Madagascar", and "I don't believe there is Madagascar." It basically has to do with the intensity of the (un)belief. There is a similar comparison re: agnostics. Just a bit of educational info for you folks, no extra charge. Danny, I find that idea voiced by the early Christians against the Roman pagans rather amusing, seeing that since the Christian church took over since Constantine, they had their own style of governing that was very similar to the pagan Roman religion when it came to the dealing with the voices of dissent that challenged their 'cherished beliefs'. <_<

I heard this one atheist state the following: "In essense, we are all atheists. I just happen to believe in one fewer god than you do."

Yo momma so fat, she has her own gravity well. I know this 'cause I threw a paper clip at her, and it went into orbit around her!

Unless it was a rather short wedding, I doubt it. AVIs tend to be quite large. Now if you ZIP it first, or use another type of video file that's (usually) smaller (like MPEG, I think) and ZIP that, then you might be able to send it w/o either mail server gagging on it. (Most email accounts usually allow you up to 25 meg of storage)

I wouldn't send Fred Phelps any email if I were you, Roy. Can you imagine him popping a gasket with your sign-off??

Let me see if I can put it in a clear cut way. Perhaps the logic is (or has come to be for some of us) that since the claim is made that there is a god (and that he needs for us to believe in him/her/it), and that the details of that claim are 1) quite extraordinary, and 2) no real conclusive and consistant evidence has been given for this extraordinary entity to exist beyond simply that the claim is made (at least to satisfy our desire for proof that goes beyond simply an appeal to authority), and 3) its based (largely or totally) on accepting all this on faith and obedience, rather than on proof and logical reason, ... therefore we don't find it compelling to believe. (As far as I know, point 3 is the main stickler for many of us, me included.) Now for those who do believe, apparently they base that belief on a different set of standard/basis for what it takes to believe, therefore they do so, to whatever level/direction they believe. Does this help answer your question? I'm sure folks like George, Sudo, et al can weigh in and give different perspectives on the topic.

... how about helping him 'check into' the nearest lockup, so he can turn himself in to the local authorities to answer for his criminal abuses? Why sure! It's only the neighborly thing to do, doncha know.

Yup! The Westboro Baptist Church is well known for its hate-spewing verbiage. They march at funerals for gays, armed forces individuals who were killed in the Iraq War, and a lot of other public gatherings. The minister who started this church (Fred Phelps) used to be a civil rights attorney (?!?) who, when he was disbarred for misbehavior, turned to his rabid anti-homosexual, anti-American tirades. ((sigh))

Hey CK, You are aware that there are some folks in this world who still admire Adolf Hitler (Yes Virginia, there actually are! ), and dismiss as lies and bitterness those who complain about Hitler's Final Solution. Ie., the Holocaust. ..... (You DO know that the Holocaust *actually* happened, ........ don't you? ) Tell me something. Is what they say true? About the folks who speak out against the Holocaust being untrue and bitter, that is. Aren't they just speaking ill of the dead (Hitler, that is)? ... ..... Can't they just ........ forgive?? Now while its true that Wierwille didn't cook and gas 6 million Jews (alto' he was sympathetic to Hitler's views, and stated flat out that the U.S. fought on the wrong side in WWII; folks here have documented that fact), it has been testified and documented many times over of his abuses and manipulation. Sorry chief, just can't get away from that, either by blind denial ("His accusers are *lying*!!"), or by manipulative whitewashing ("can't we just stop being bitter and just forgive??") So the comparison is valid. In many respects. Besides, if all the on and on and on postings against VPW/LCM really bother you, and you want to go "Enough already!!", ... well, nobody's making you read them now, are we? Don't like the seemingly endless tirade against VPW and Co.? ... There's the door pal, and don't let it hit you in the a** on the way out. 'Cause we ain't going anywhere.

Sudossuda, is Sudo your husband? -
I can see the overall point Coolwaters is trying to make here, folks. And its similar to the concept of having 'boot camp' like situations for youthful offenders like they have in some states. Shape them up, discipline them through and through, and let them know where the life of crime will take them, and teach them alternatives that they need to take, ... or else! And programs like that were quite successful, from what I have heard. And I support such programs.

wwjl, This would be true only if Martindale was a _convicted_ sex offender, which (unless I'm mistaken) he is not. Unconvicted is another story, methinks.

Nova?! Heck, I thought that they could name him Mr. Ed. "Oh Willl-burrrr!"

((crickets chirping)) So won't anybody here have some pity on this poor former Prophet of THE, and tell me what the dickens peeps have to do with THE? pppllleeeeeaaaassee??

When he says that VPW 'might' have done wrong, CK is showing us all plainly that he doesn't really believe those have been on the receiving end of VPW's abuses. The fact that it is VPW who's being accused is the reason why. He doesn't believe them at all. <_<

... and then you get to the airport and find out that your wallet has been 'borrowed', ie., stolen by the thief. For a lot of us, that is indeed what happened, and many of us didn't even 'make it to the airport'. Face it, pal. If you're looking for those to 'look the other way' when it comes to VeePee, (of course under the guise of "forgiveness"), we know better than to buy that *scam*. Ie., No Sale! Deal with it! -

Keep in mind, Jonny, that much of PFAL was lifted/borrowed/STOLEN from other classes/ministries. S-o-o, maybe it wasn't PFAL that helped so much as the information/scriptures that were lifted/borrowed/STOLEN from these other sources. After all, a thief can give you the correct directions to the airport, ... but he's still a thief. -
Let's see how long his aggressive behavior continues around a pit bull or a rottwieller. He'll learn his lesson QUICK! :o

Because I don't feel like plowing though *all* those pages talking about THE, could someone kindly let me know what relationship peeps have with the Almighty THE? Altho' I was once The prophet of THE, it was one area that I just didn't get time to study & master. ... I know, I know, shame on me, and all that. So its one Hail Krys, the Shaver of THE, three Our Rafs, and $10 in THE plate, right?
