  1. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has *nothing* on THE!! Praise be to THE!
  2. Try this YouTube video out. It's a riot.
  3. Quick! Someone get the smelling salts! Ron's fainted! (Besides, Ron has just proved to us all that he ain't no Yankee. ... Why? He is _not_ used to, and hates to say (or type) 'snow'.) :D

  5. ..... ahhhh, Ron's bored, ... and wants a little _excitement_.

Its almost like trying to imagine 'Leave it to Beaver' as how folks in the 50's really lived huh? <_< Of course, the movie/TV censors up until the early 70s were under rather strict 'guidelines' on what, and what not, to show.
  7. Poor LG. Look at what we started here. And hey, I'm quite the liberal when it comes to font sizes and colors, ..... so long as it's Arial font, that is. No Times New Roman for me, please.
  8. ..... as evidenced by all the Viagra ads that keep bombarding our inboxes. <_<
  9. ..... Yeah! Gawd forbid anyone endeavoring to change scripture to make it either easier to understand or to have it fit according to their POVs. .......................... .................... .......... Oh wait a minute! That's been done already over and over the past centuries by just about every orthodox church in the book! :o <_<
  10. Mebbe its me, but I get the feelin' that this is an offshoot of the midlife crisis thread, ..... ya think?

    Duh

Ya know, that sounds like a perfect scene from a Cheech and Chong flick. "Dave's not here!"
  12. Look at the numbers '7.05346.5'. That must be some key code that only a high ranking Jesuit cabalist would understand. ..... ..... Mark O? What say you?
  13. Hmmmmm. Apparently the phrase "I'll cram my fist so far down your throat, you'll see daylight at both ends" _does_ have merit to it.
  14. Now can anyone here imagine this guy writing _Christian_ greeting cards for Hallmark? ((Urge to **hurl**))
  15. Oak, Good one, guy! Great comeback! Gotta have that ((cough)) 'godly' kind of discrimination, donchaknow.

Putin's version of how to redistribute the wealth.
  17. DMiller, The location is one of the areas where Wierwille got it dead wrong. It was not anywhere near Nice, France. It was Nicea, which was on the western coast of what we now know as Turkey, and was near Ephesus. Overall, I'd say that he could have done a LOT better in the quality of his ((cough)) 'research' work than he did. Oh, by the way, there are other (and a lot better!) sources that do portray what happened at that council, and Constantine's rather intimidating influence in it, in their 'decision' to determine Jesus to be God the Son. ... Let's just say that the council left a lot to be desired when it came to honest debate. Anthony Buzzard's book "The Trinity: Christianity's Self Inflicted Wound" is an excellent source, complete with a LOT of footnotes and quoted sources, pertaining to this topic.
  18. Actually, it wasn't the Puritans who endorsed ideals like self governance and religious liberty (unless it benefited them), and there were more to the pilgrims than just the Puritans, as it was the Puritans who took control of the area during the mid-late 1600's where the Plymouth pilgrims first settled. As to the ideals of self governance and religious liberty, there were a good number of others who came to the colonies who espoused those ideals, and many of them knew that fanaticism (particularly of the religious variety) often went against those very ideals. Evidently, the American history that we learned in TWI was sorely lacking in many respects, especially when it comes to the topic of religious liberty. Ohhh, we'd be without people like L. Craig Martindale, Osama bin Laden, Charles Manson, the Inquisition, ..... need I continue?
  19. It *had* to be totally staged, then the video re-edited professionally to show that kind of illusion. And if anybody says that it wasn't, then I'd like for them to have that guy do his 'trick' again, but this time, _they_ do the videotaping, and NOT let that magician's film crew edit the tape at all. <_< I'd like to see James Randi and his organization investigate this.
  20. Uh huh. ........ Yah! I was taught the "Servant, servant, king, servant, servant. All servants bow!" account of the origin of that esteemed salute. Update! I looked it up on Snopes, and Nope, it ain't true. So 'pluck yew'!
  21. And who is this Tom Bowers?
  22. ... or perhaps she finds benefits in other areas, y'think? And does it for other reasons that VPW outlined? Even if she doesn't believe that its supernatural?
  23. This has nothing to do with Jim Crow. This is what some states do in an attempt to make the criminals give back to and become more productive members of society; its part of their punishment. And frankly, overall I see this as a good thing, making them work. Sure beats having them sit in a cell all day doing nothing but think about what kind of crimes they'll commit when they get out.
