  1. At the risk of giving my own Oldies-impersonation, I'm going to disagree with the "There was NO good in TWI, because it was a God Damn CULT ©, and that's all there is to it!" goosestepp--err opinion. ... Now stop and think of how 'cultish' that opinion would come off as, hmmmm? ((Ohh noo! He's going thru denial! He's going thru denial! ..... Whatever! )) It was a mixed bag folks. Yes, there was good in the group, because there was good people endeavoring to do good for people, and for God. And even tho' I threw away religion and related views, I'm not going to deny that there were those who sincerely believed in their God, and tried to sincerely help people with what they thought/believed was true at the time. Even if a lot of it was found/determined not to be later on. Basically, it was the people in it trying to help that appealed to others, not VPW or LCM. So spare us the "But it's a CULT!" routine to prove your point, ok? ... 'Cult' under legal terms? Got a flash for ya. There *IS* no 'legal' term for 'cult'.
  2. Just believe bi---errr, uhh, I mean, .... :D But seriously, keywords are one way of making your site more detectable and categorizeable to search engine web spiders. The text in your site will also be searchable by the spiders. Registering with as many search engines as possible helps to increase the search hits too. Now this is from what I know about search engines and the like, tho' there are those who know a lot more than I do, and they can get it down to a science. Of course, they charge for their services as well.
  3. "We are Shagalistic with your shag rug, Bay-bee! Oh Y-e-a-h!" ((Looks like I better not quit my day job for coming up with jingles. ))
  4. Hills, If your looking for basically what they call a 'brochure site', which is a site that gives information about your business, shows pics/illustrations of your products/services, response/ask for more information form page(s), contact info, stuff like that, depending on the number of pages made, I could do something like that for anywhere from $500 on up. A bit more if we use Flash animations/designs in the site. And we can negotiate and haggle the price, depending on what needs to be done. :) Basically you provide me with the information/description of your company, your logo (I can design the logo for you if you wish for an extra $120 - $300 thereabouts, depending on complexity), product/service item details, and anything else that is needed to let folks know about your business. I then arrange the whole info onto an informative and professional looking website. And one thing about me, I try to make it looking as professional as I can (ie., no beginner looking pages where the loud colors clash, any broken links, blinking text, and where it looks like its straight out of the mid 90s. I mean, this _is_ my professional reputation we're talking about here, as well as _your_ business site. ) I then set up the keywords to be quite descriptive for the Google/Yahoo/other web crawlers and search bots and upload it. Plus I work with my clients so that they can see the stages of the work in progress, so that they get what they want. Sound good so far? :) P.S., Didn't you say that you were in the drywall/construction business?
  5. Hillmeister, That hosting site that Cools showed you sounds like a good deal for the money. For one thing, they aren't hosting their servers in some other country, but in the U.S.A. (Gotta watch out for that. I myself, got burned by a company a few years back who had their servers, and their corporate locale, in Costa Rica, and their tech support **sucked**! Raf got burned by them also, if I recall). I have a web design business that I've been doing for the past 4-5 years. Here is my website: GAP Studio, and I can help you out on the frontend design and graphics work, including plugging in the video feeds/links as needed. I can also put in the keywords into the pages that the web spiders that Google and other search engines use to search for. Check out my work and clients, and let me know what you think, and I think you can get a good website up and running. :)
  6. I am indeed familiar with that account in the OT where the Amalekite army attacked the children of Isreal from behind as they were enroute to the promised land. ... And the children of Isreal kicked their behind real good then too.So why was it that Samuel found it necessary to re-punish them 3-400 years later for the same incident? And by doing the same thing to them (killing their children, et al)? That was one of the times where the bright moral line was clearly crossed. So you can't say that rape is against the Word of God simply because it doesn't specify it in the scriptures? This is a classic example of the serious flaw of the _blind_ obedience of the "It is written" mentality. If scripture dictates something, it must be right. If the scripture doesn't forbid something, it must not be wrong. And the like. Anybody with a brain would realize that rape is morally and ethically wrong, and should be forbidden by a moral and ethical God. Period. If one needs the "In the third verse of the second chapter of the Holy Book, it sayeth that thou shouldest not commit rape!" approach to know this, ... then that someone have a serious problem! P.S., I think you know, after seeing many of my posts, that my usage of "No Virginia, yadayada" is a take-off usage of the "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" phrase. If not, there it is. Abigail, I see the value in that point of yours. Unfortunately, if we're talking about a real incident as depicted in the scriptures (as I have no reason to interpret that figuratively), and since there are those who portray that real incident as just and Godly, that puts a whole different angle on things. Enough of an angle that has inspired folks like me to re-evaluate what we have learned about God, scriptures, and the like. Maybe Sushi can tell you more of what I'm talking about in this respect.
  7. Happy Birthday, Andrew! Meebe Ron will show us his post, ..... his walking cane, that is.
  8. Ok, you want it to go back to being about the sin of Amalek? Fine. We'll do just that. That's from the article you posted that stood out to me, especially in light of the incident of Samuel telling King Saul to kill everyone he came across in his strike against the Amalekites. Everyone, including "infant and suckling". Plain right there in the scriptures. Tell me please, does this incident not go *well* over that "bright moral line which can never be crossed"? Yet Another One of those 'blatant contrasts' I mentioned earlier. <_< I know, I know, I'm such a pain in the keister.
  9. The main point I was bringing up was the blatant contrast between the claim that you made that the Law doesn't forbid rape (which in and of itself is quite a shock to any decent, moral individual <_< ), and your claim that that was also the Word of God. Ie., one then must conclude that the Word of God doesn't forbid rape. Now how the talk about Amalek turned into a talk about rape, ... beats me; you know how threads often go their own directions, at least on this board. But when rape isn't specifically forbidden in the set of scriptures, and those scriptures are (supposedly) THE Word of a God who is claimed to be the Author of what is moral and right, ...... whether its in context of the thread or not, this kind of conclusion has gotta give one pause here. Sooo, what would happen to the rapist if the victim was married or betrothed? Or the female for that matter? P.S., you mean you never heard of the "Can you find Waldo" illustrations? Where there was this character named Waldo who wears a red & white striped shirt and hat, and he's in a big crowd of people, and the challenge was for you to find him. I think he was a mascot for Waldenbooks in order to get kids to read more books, something like that. You ought to know me by now to know that I often use illustrations like that to help make my point in my posts. Apparently I used one that was unknown to you.
  10. Speaking of having one's 'mind in the gutter'. Now, just look and compare those 2 sentences between the '...' ellipses there. Just look and compare. Now, like trying to find Waldo, can you see what's wrong with that picture that results from that comparison? Hhmmm? (Yes Virginia, there is something wrong there. I just want to see if you can find it.) And religious people wonder why folks like me toss the whole faith in the Bible/religion thing. Sooner or later, crap like this gets to you, and you just can't take the insanity anymore.
  11. ... so why aren't you a Jehovah's Witness? But seriously, I wouldn't use them as a model of door-to-door if I were you. Their numbers aren't all that big, and the vast majority of people (including yours truly) who were approached by them have a hostile attitude regarding them.
  12. door to door witnessing = personal, in-your-face spam!
  13. ... it _shoulda_ been the word THE to click upon. Its only right n' proper.
  14. Great to hear that, Groucho. ... ..... now start stringing those chairs! ((ducking))
  15. Now now, Linda. You know perfectly well that REAL men o' God **never** need a map.
  16. Actually, the deep, hidden truth is, ... Raf just *cannot* stay away from this thread. This thread means more to him than he's letting on with all his denials and wishes for the THE thread to die. It's almost as aggrevating to him as pineapple pizza and AO-Hell dialup accounts!! :o
  17. I've noticed this too, that he never claimed to have wrote it. But then again, true to form (I think), ever notice when he would quote somebody, he would hardly ever give verbal credit to the author(s)? Methinks that might be a practice gleaned from his plagerism practices.
  18. Looks like Jack Chic has come out with a new version of his anti-Catholic spewag---errr, material. I prefer Dilbert comics, thank you. <_< besides, Dogbert has a far better plan for world domination.
  19. Rumrunner, That video gives an excellent rebuttal of the claim that the 9-11 attack on the pentagon was 'just a hoax'. :)
  20. hehehehe Looks like Yet Another Example, this time provided by Doojable, which shows us this very first hand experience, and what it often leads to, ... ehhh?
  21. Ex10, While I have no personal experience of my own to share, posts like Dot Matrtix's, plus my own observations of what their documented tactics amount to, provide me with all the experience that I wouldn't ever even consider going thru in my life. But hey, that's me.
  22. Ya know what I find rather curious re: Momentus and their near rabid insistance that whatever negative effects that you endured while taking their course, it is your doing, your responsibility, etc., ... ... whereas any positive results that you enjoyed as a result of Momentus, they will not contradict you if you give Momentus the praise and credit for said positive results. ... Ie., they don't mind taking the credit, but they do mind taking the criticism. Hhmmmmm, .... interesting discrepancy there, ya think?
  23. Uh ohh, now ya done it. Anyway, the THE topic is one of those humorous things that was started about 5-6 years ago from a technical glitch which would up being a one word post by our own Raf, ... and it somehow sprang into a many threaded phenomenon that had an entire life of its own. And for the life of me, I can't locate the THE archives so Ca_dreaming can waste just about his/her _entire_ life away in reading it. Anybody here know where it might be located? Anyway, welcome to THE!, ruler of all! Mark, He probably did it in Photoshop, or some other graphics app that supports the making of animated GIFs.
  24. .... and why won't we know? Cuz it's a **conspiracy**! MWUHAHahahahahahahahaha!!
