  1. Ya know, I keep hearing again and again about people who claim that they hear voices in their heads telling them to kill so-and-so. ... *Usually* as a means of getting off on the insanity defense or some such cop out. ..... Ummmm, ... I wonder if any of them ever thought to tell the voices "NO!", ... hmmmm? And as to the parents/relatives who 'forgive' the cold blooded killers (ie., 'forgive' = 'let them go'), I think they should be locked up as well. At the very least, avoided and shunned in public. Sorry for the off hand rant, but come on. People can't control themselves better than this??
  2. That's "Jesus freaks, out in the streets, sellin' tickets for gold".
  3. One man's fact is another man's whine. ... And visa-versa.
  4. Hey, I mentioned Stalin too! So what law did I invoke with that? First off, my drawing the similarity between Martindale and Hitler/Stalin wasn't referring to the intensity of their abuse. If *that* were the case, Hitler/Stalin would win hands down over Martindale. No question! But then again, not every time when someone mentions Hitler (or Stalin for that matter) are they necessarily knee-jerking Godwin's Law, nor necessarily drawing a simple quantitative comparison of abuses in question, but might be referring to some other standard or characteristic. Two, I used Hitler and Stalin as examples of men who, by the very nature/intensity/quality of their abuse, makes *whatever* good that they (invariably) did look insignificant/irrelevant by comparison. Ie., a non-issue. Now, that is *my* rendering of the man. YMMV (Your mileage may vary) You might, or even undoubtedly, have seen him do some good based on *your* experiences with the guy. Ok, granted. Others might not be so generous, or even share that view, based on *their* experiences. Same principle can be rendered upon VPW too. And yes, we should be telling both sides of the story. ..... Now where did I clearly indicate that that should not be the case, hmmmm? Bishop to Knight's Pawn 5. Your move
  5. TrustAndObey, (interesting nick ya got there <_< ) I would be willing to bet that you got (as in distorted) this: from THIS: so, if he is allowing evil to rule (for his own 'good reasons', doncha know ;) ) then he is either not onmipotent, ... or he is malevolent, ... or he is the cause of the evil, ... or he just ain't God. And since your answer is A in your list, given with the excuse that he 'has a good reason', ... and comparing your list with Epicurus' list,... ..... then that must mean that basically the evil comes from him. Right? So, how does that make him righteous and pure, aka the verses in James (you know, the ones that talk about him being "The Light, and in Him is no darkness at all" and all the others that portray this?) <_< Maybe this is what is meant by "the devil is in the details", ya think? Anywho, if there is nothing more about this, back to looking up *more* good things to say about Craig. <--- sarcasm mode on
  6. There was this music video he did about 5-6 years back going on decrying the (supposed) lack of applying the death penalty and other harsher punishments to those who broke the law and (I think) about how those who went on and on about the 'politically correct' way of dealing with criminals didn't have a clue. Stuff like that. A song that I (largely) agreed with, particularly with regards the death penalty. ... Believe it or not.
  7. I saw this little jewel on the Jesus Camp blog as to why they shut down. ROFLMAO! They lose 3-4 of their referendums in the elections, and now its The Last Days! ? ((Wiping the tears of laughter away)) Man, I wonder what kind of apocalyptic, grand mall epileptic fit they're gonna have if/when the candidate they are NOT campaigning for wins the 2008 Presidential Election, ... especially if its Hillary 'Jezebel' Clinton? ..... Christmas! And to think that I used to believe in crap like this!
  8. Why, the same thing could be said re: Stalin or Hitler too. ..... Your move. Perpetual pain-in-the-keister, ain't I?

Now all you need is to build a fountain inside of it and having the nozzle shoot water out the butt. In that case, I'd try this caption: "Had a tad too much laxative this morning?"
  10. Well ya see, that presents a large part of the problem, doncha think? W-A-Y too many people treating celebrities as near Gawds. And as the depiction of how Elton John in that commercial shoot displays, here he is thinking that he has some god given *right* to that worship. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of those Diva queen-wannabees would act a lot more human and civilized if we, who buy their albums and go to their concerts *stop* adulating them ----- remember how we used to adulate VPW the same way? Not that we are responsible for their childish antics, but we do help feed the monster, as it were, by treating them as tho' they can do no wrong. And I'm glad that there are performers who realize 'where they came from', and treat us 'commoners' as real people. And why shouldn't musicians/actors/performers voice their opinions? I mean, how many here (be honest now) wouldn't mind *their* favorite artists (and I mean that compatibility-of-political-opinion wise) voicing their opinions about world events? ... Like when Charlie Daniels did that song about crime and the death penalty fer instance. How many folks (conservative especially) r-e-a-l-l-y liked that puppy, hmmmmm? ... At least a lot more than John Lennon's 'Imagine'. ... Right?
  11. ..... So why are *you* whining about the whiners? <_<
  12. ????? So let me get this straight. If the universities fail to have their students 'integrate faith with knowledge and reasoning skills', then that will play a part of the students then leaning towards the radical/fanatical/fly the planes into the WTC extremism of their respective religions? Gimme a break! For one thing, many of the radicals/fanatics across the world haven't had or attained to the university level of education. Two, how many of these religious fanatics have become that way because the university didn't run classes on how to integrate their beliefs with modern real life situations? Three, do you know that a good many people who come to the universities (and especially after taking science courses), often question various parts of what they were previously taught in their religions, particularly where science challenges what their religion says about the physical world (evolution vs. creation science, anybody?). Most of them didn't throw out their religious beliefs wholesale, but they didn't become froth-at-the-mouth religious whackos either, ready to join up with the local chapter of either the Al-Qaeda or the Bomb the Abortion Clinic for Jesus Society. I know that the author didn't place the whole blame on the universities, but come on, I don't think that they should even take as much blame (if any) that he places on them. P.S., and as far as being equipped on how to deal with the fanatical elements of their respective faiths, they need to be taught that a lot earlier than when they reach the gates of the university, ... like at home/church/temple/mosque. ... From their parents/communities. ... On how to *avoid* the militant fringe groups that endeavor to represent their respective faiths.
  13. Well, when you have just about every religion under the sun calling for the banning, persecution, prosecution, condemning of, and (if legally possible) the extermination of gays, ........ ahhmm, you might say that at least Elton John had some mitigating circumstances for why "religion should be banned". I mean, what is religion's excuse for banning homosexuality, hmmmm? But, not to worry. I seriously doubt that the ban will go beyond Music Man's ranting into actual practice. Can't exactly say that the reverse is necessarily true. <_< P.S., Notice that I said 'mitigating circumstances', NOT 'legitimate excuse' for banning religion. ... Just in case some people here 'missed' that. ;)
  14. Ya know, it has been said that even Joseph Stalin had his good points. He loved his daughter. Heh! This would be like someone starting a thread about "Hitler - anything good to say?" And the point that would be ... ? <_<
  15. Ya know, ... there is something about this last pick that looks somewwhat, ..... obsene, ... altho' I can't quite put my finger on it.
  16. Pardon my ig'nerance (and especially since I like Cheech & Chong ), but what is this paper, anyway? "Dave's not here." "No man, *I'm* Dave!"
  17. I got a better one: Forgiveness is something that is freely given. ... Not earned. ... Not expected. ... Not something that is demanded because "Gawd-a says so, so you're to do it!". Given. At the *exclusive* discretion of the would-be-forgiver, and only should they decide to do that. Ie., it's a decision that is only theirs to make. ... Gad, how many times has some fundy laid some "forgive him, lest God not forgive you" guilt trip upon somebody who would otherwise would have held the perp accountable? "But the Holy Bible sayeth that thou musteth..." Blow me. It's not your call. It's not mine. It's only the person who has been wronged who can make that call. And I think that its a rather over-simplified (and non-thinking) rendering to presume that someone who does not 'forgive' then goes around with a life consuming bitterness in their heart, or is still under the power of the perp, simply because they do not forgive the individual. ... I guess that would make all the Jews in the world a bunch of r-e-a-l-l-y bitter people, because they haven't forgiven Hitler, ..... ya think? Just thinking aloud, doncha know. ... And I know I'm wacky.
  18. White and Nerdy = The Rapper's Nightmare! Even worse to them than Will Smith. Those who know the rapper culture will know what I mean.
  19. Well whatever, the news source has been verified. ((Still boogying)) Have a beer!
