  1. Ya know Belle, I think MarkO came up with a dandy idea on what Congressweenies (I *love* that term. Think I'll use it :P ) can make their pledges on. Toilet paper! ..... How appropos! :D
  2. That's because they ARE a bunch of intolerant idiots. ... Otherwise they wouldn't have reacted like they did, especially since they reacted spontaneously, ie., honestly. ... Gives a new meaning to the phrase 'Truth in Advertising', ... knowwhatImean. They got nobody to blame but themselves.
  3. ?? Who was that addressed to DrtyDzn?
  4. Isn't the movie about Diana Ross and the Supremes?
  5. Also keep this in mind Linda (and others). One thing that Wikipedia does that encyclopedias (and I'm referring to the online ones) do not do, is if there is an inaccurate article posted, there is a means whereby it can be openly challenged for accuracy, right there on the site. I dare you to show me any other encyclopedic site or source even, that has or allows that. Which is one of the big reasons why Wikipedia is as highly accurate as it is overall. Even with the ability to go in and post articles by anybody. By all odds, it should be a hodge-podge of chaos and meaningless garbage with that kind of setup. ... But it isn't. Just something to keep in mind.
  6. Good point Mark O. Why bother, ..... particularly when there is NO good reason to do so whatsoever, particularly when it comes to attacking all others, since that is based on no better reason than that the others differ from said belief. Ie., 'heresy'.

By Golly, ol' Al Gore was right!! There IS global warming underway. ... But he's doing all the warming with his hot air!!
  8. How about "If I Did It", ........ oh wait, that's been pulled from publication. ... Never mind. Back to our regularly scheduled thread.
  9. Let this be the Year of the THE! P.S., that Guiness looks S-O-O *good*
  10. I don't think that its George that is going crazy because of this lack of a rational answer.
  11. Here Evan, have a doobie. Maybe that'll help clear this up for you. "Oh w-o-w, like really trippin', man!"
  12. (My answers in bold) I don't buy into the 'mind control' theory that some others here do, but I do agree with their overall suggestions to you, and hope that your girlfriend sees your loving example, and decides to see TWI for the dead end group that it is, and that she can do a LOT better, and then drops them like a bad habit.
  13. You can also set your boot up order from within the POST setup menu (that is where you either type Ctrl-Del or the F1 key right as your system begins to start up). Look for where it indicates which drive to boot first from, and then select the CD to boot up first. I concur with GreasyTech, it could be a virus situation. I suggest that you make a anti-virus disk (be it CD or floppy), and when you boot up *from that disk*, scan ALL of your drives that are connected to your system. You're gonna have to wait a while, so when you return, you can after that reinstall your fresh Windows op sys, and set everything back up. See how that goes, and get back to us, ok? That ought to be a lot less expensive than shelling out $$$ buying hard drives time after time.
  14. So you would rather see that portion of the Constitution that states that no religious test shall be required of those who run for office ... ignored? Was it a mistake made by our founding fathers to put it in there?
  15. That's a good one, MarkO! Thanks for the laugh of the day.
  16. Aww c'mon now Mark, you're an ok guy anyway.
  17. The man needs to get some serious medication and get some serious professional help!
  18. C'mon Evan. You know me enough by now to know about my smooth and suave (not to mention diplomatic? ) posting style. Why even my tirades can be (and sometimes are) rational and deliberate.
  19. Ridden? No, but I have had to deal with those kinds of doubts, for the same reason why many others who dropped the Christian faith. Ie., they had to deal with the drilled-in and habitual thoughts of fear and doubt, mainly along the lines of images of a God getting wrathful because of those who walk away and no longer believe. Thoughts/fears that are based on the widespread (and quite orthodox, I might add) doctrine about what happens when people no longer hold onto the Christian faith. Teachings, communications, subtle (and some not so subtle) reminders to perhaps not-so-faithful followers of the dire consequences of leaving the faith/no longer believing. And that doesn't even deal with the social anathema one sometimes (many times based on many of the deconversion stories I have read) receives when they become ..... an unbelieving infidel! And please spare me the "But that is a mis characterization of the Christian faith" please. I've heard over and over again the spiel in regards this topic from a wide range of churches/denominations, and the hold it has on many people, both on an individual and community level. Why, if I were to use the anti-cult lingo that many use here, I'd say that it has quite a 'cultic and mind controlling' hold on people. ... but, I won't.
  20. Ever the traditionalist, aren't you, Mark? :B)
