((As the violin dirge begins to play ... )) Actually, it's all a heinous plot to send Whitedove to the back of the bus. deny him the right to vote, ... and take away his cable privileges.
-
Hhmmmm, ... next thing Whitedove will be wanting is *proof* that Obama was elected. ;)
-
Ham, ?? Huh? ... Care to fill me in?

101. Don't listen to people who ... tell you who not to listen to.

Memo to TWI/Splinters: How NOT to be a cult
GarthP2000 replied to John M Knapp LMSW's topic in About The Way
Well Rev. Dollar, you'll be pleased to know that pennies aren't made of silver. -
Ahhhh, ... but can you prove it's Drambrui? Sorry, I just couldn't resist. ;) Frankly, I'd also use that CD as a coaster, ... with the recorded side up!

Here's another example of what I'm talking about:

Let that b*tch live in Iran for a few weeks, and then let her come back and say that it's not OK to be an atheist. Why do I put it that way? Because in Iran, they KILL atheists, and for no better f***ing reason for being an atheist. And you know what? They would kill her too. ... For being a Christian American! But folks like you don't stop and think about _that_ one do you? ... Or maybe you do, but don't give a rat's patootie if that crap happens to an atheist. ... Right? Yes Virginia, it IS ok to be an atheist! ((steaming)) (Love Catholic mothers, my arse!) Note to moderators: Before you give this post the axe because of the, ummm 'spiceyness' of my words, stop and think about _why_ I would express it this way. I mean, what if it were an atheist mother giving her newly converted son this kind of hell, hmmmm? How many of the Christians here on this board would react much like I am now? ... And would hand you your arse if you banned their outraged responses? Just something to evaluate before you press the Big Red "Delete" button.

Watch closely and you'll see what 'passing' means. ;)
-
Altho you did get rather irrate about people misspelling it as 'Rapheal' ... Like one of the Mutant Teenage Ninja Turtles? ;)

((starting up a mind control on Ex---oops!)) I mean, thanks for all the Happy Birthday wishes, folks. And thanks for all those birthday cakes Rainbow Girl. Now I'm gonna have sugar shock for _weeks_! What do I want for my birthday? .... MORE HAIR!!!

Sudo, I know you're a Libertarian and all, ... but you _do_ know that there are obsenity laws, ... doncha? I mean, there _are_ limits to which society should be expected to take from such ... hideous material. And Thomas Loy, please don't insult Lawerence Welk that way. Hey! I'm no fan of his muzak either, ... but c'mon dude! Give the guy a break. ;)

(after being STOOPID enough to actually watch the video) ((runs off to the men's room to ..... H-U-R-L-L-L!!))

Yeah, right! <_< ... Being held against our will while in TWI? Paralyzed by 'mind control'? ... Please! No more than an experience in any other kind of staunchly fundamentalist group. If the 'mind control' we had supposedly undergone was so 'paralyzing', please explain why so many had left on their own during 1) twig, 2) in the middle of a PFAL class session, 3) right off of the WOW field, and 4) even get thrown out of the Corps for not having their payments up to date? You do not have a 'paralyzing mind control' situation with control that weak! Hell, I've seen a lot _more_ of the kind of 'paralyzing mind control' (and the fear thereof) you speak of in a mainline fundamentalist church or even in some strongly conservative political groups. Abuses of psychological, physical, and sexual nature in TWI? Yup! Definitely! ... But the kind of 'mind control' where people just could not leave, and they 'need' to be pulled out by means of deprogramming/exit counseling/intervention specialists? No!

When I read a question like this, I think of Shellon's avatar pic. You know, the one that says"Hahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha hahahahahahaha No." :B) Honest self-evaluation? ... Well let's see. ... Because of our fleshly limitations that is very staining and at many times, overpowering (a condition which we supposedly _cannot_ help), we are "guilty of treason against God in rebellion and wickedness" (treason being a condition reached thru deliberate design and follow thru), ... and such a condition is based upon our fleshly limitations (which we cannot help, remember?). ... And remember, said fleshly limitations are afflicted upon us due to Adam's and Eve's disobedience. ... Ie., _they_ do the 'crime', and _we_ do the time. Please see my first answer above as to how I would respond to this idea also. :P

Geisha's latest post illustrates but one of my main complaints re: the 'cult' term, and its often less-than-factual-or-honest usage. Particularly when some people bandy the term about like its some medically proven clinical term. <_<

Good Gawd! The man is really losing it, isn't he? ... See folks, he is a classic example as to why narcotics are bad for your mind, and will waste your life.

Yeah Tzaia, I knew the guy back in the early 80's in TWI. I was in a Way Home that he ran back in 82-83. When (or if?) you meet up with him again, tell him Garth P. says "Hiya, from a fellow yardape!". He'll know what I'm talking about. ;) Too bad to hear that he's still in tho'. :( But if he asks, go ahead and give him my email. (If you can't find it, PM me, and I'll send it to ya.

Oh yeah?! :P :P :P But seriously, as regards anti-virus packages, you might want to keep in mind Avast!. I too, had AVG when I was hit a week ago with something known as a 'rogue virus' (the link tells about the one I was hit with), and AVG couldn't do anything against it. So I downloaded Avast (after it being recommended to me by my brother), and _it kicks arse_. Big time. It did take a few runs, but it got the job done! I hear tell that its better than McAfee, and a hell of a lot better than the bloated Norton. Heck, it even gives a solid look-and-feel. Their basic anti-virus package is free. (No, I'm not being paid by Avast! )

(conspiratorial muzak eerily playing in the background -- ) Hhhmmmmm, ... This wouldn't happen to include .. Fox News Network now, ... ... would it? ;)

Awright! Who told about me providing Paw with a cricket farm? :P
-
Well, whatever you do, ... do NOT belch _too_ heavily after taking those pills. Might cause a rather unpleasant ... ummm ... *explosive* experience, doncha know. ;)
-
You misspelled 'cin'. :)

Yup. The flight attendant definitely went over the top. Perhaps if she reeled it in qutie a bit, she _might_ have won. Oh well. *Queen* Victoria will get her comeuppance another day. ... People like that invariably do. <_<
