... and you just go on and totally miss my point/misrepresent what I said. The _only_ thing that I am showing a 'lack of concern' for is your oversensitivity for having a time cap put on your ability to 'have editorial control' (ie., delete/reedit later at your convenience) over what you post. That is all that I 'crapped' on. And frankly, it was you who came along and started this derail away from whether or not GS has jumped the shark with said quite wordy and self-serving complaint. And speaking of the ability to tune a certain poster out (tunes out Satori) Frankly Abigail, there are people whom you could disagree with in a totally respectful and diplomatic manner like you have here, and they would turn on you just as viciously. It's simply because their views are being challenged that they take offense, and treat the challenger with derision. Much like it was in TWI.

Now let me get this straight (Garth says in what (according to you-know-who) must be a 'personal attack' ... yeah, whatevah): The _only_ adequate and valid response you can give my (supposedly, again, according to you-know-who) seriously flawed logic in my posts, is the 'vicious "personal attack."' (which of course, is no longer tolerated on said board, and thus sending us all 'moonwalking the mahi mahi'). Hhmmm, ... so why not instead demonstrate the superiority of your logic by clearly pointing out the hideously obvious (to you anyway) flaws in what I say (since I'm supposedly blind as the proverbial bat ), where at least others can see and learn from your solid wisdom (since I'm so far gone, unable/unwilling to 'be saved'). Why is that alternative not better than the (supposedly and 'sorely needed') vicious attack that you think is the only answer here? And looks like my affliction is apparently affecting Abigail and Wordwolf here as well. ... My, my, my. Or it could be where your rendering of this situation just isn't taking with us 'poor, inferior schmucks' here at the Mahi Mahi. ... Maybe, for good reason. ... Maybe, ... just maybe, ... we might even see something that you do not. N-a-a-h-h! ... Can't be. P.S., Just in case it isn't obvious to _some_ here ((wink wink)) ;), the above is dripping with sarcasm. ... Just wanted to be clear. P.P.S., Even tho' I'm posting this at around 3AM in the morning, _please_ don't call Paw at this time and beg about this post. I mean, really. ... Really! <_<

Crap! That last part "Oh by the way. I take full responsibility for previous post. And have not altered it in any way." I posted as a separate post, but it came on too soon, and was thus combined to the previous message. So I'm waiting a few minutes before I post this.

Editorial control my a**! There is a solution to your 'dilemna' in this respect. It's called, ... make another post, expanding upon what you posted earlier. Really? Well, Abigail don't need no 'steenkin' cut and paste job. She's quite well spoken without any assistance from you, thank you very much. Ahh yes, I remember that day now. You had one apparently award winning firey zinger thrown my way after one of my posts which apparently got your panties in a bunch (said response that I didn't get to see unfortunately), and when I came back to read it, it was *POOF*, gone (along with my post it responded to, I think). As I remember, you were _not_ happy about that. ... Ahh well. ((shrugs)) ... all this of which has to do with _any_ of your posts, ... how? You called Paw at 3 AM in the morning? Over some stupid post that you forgot to place 'editorial control' before you hit Send? :o So its kinda like being in some real life conversation where you speak before you think. Too bad you have absolutely NO editorial control over that. Oh by the way, (since I can _bet_ that you'd come back with some 'degrading, demeaning' ;) crack back at me in this context, might as well deflate this balloon of yours now) I, too, have undergone this very kind of 'Ooopsie!' moment in said social life a time or three. Everyone has. Well at least with me, I deal with learning from said 'Oopsie!' moment, take responsibility for it, learn from it, and move on; and NOT go thru a serious denial about the 'Ooopsie!' moment (via 'editorial control' of course ;) ), and expect the rest of the world to act like it never happened. ... Oh well, like I said, that's life. We learn from it and then we move on. Life isn't a wet-nurse in that situation either. Actually, I think Abigail has considered her position quite thoroughly. Its just you don't particularly care for it. ((starts up the sad violin dirge, again)) Oh by the way. I take full responsibility for previous post. And have not altered it in any way. Ie., I'm Garth P. and I approve of this message. ;)

Then there could be an alternative explanation for said purple squirrel (and the red tinged one, for that matter). One word: Photoshop

One more choice to go, ehhh? ;)

Why thank you for the compliment! :) ... I believe that being consistent is a principled approach, wouldn't you agree? ;) See, you _can_ be decent.

Ie., a long, bloated, and round-about self-serving way of saying "Hell! Now I can't cover my foot anymore, cuz now _my_ comments have to be 'laid bare and exposed before the world'". <_< You had all the editorial control you needed when you were typing in your post to begin with, chief. It's the same amount of 'editorial control' you have when you (are supposed to) think before you talk in any social situation. Actually, Paw via GS showed a lot more tolerance in many ways than even Waydale, as I've seen a good number of abusive comments yanked off of Waydale message boards more often than here on GS. And GS was/is just as equally effective at holding the searing iron to TWI's feet as Waydale has been. But no, you get a few of _your_ messages smacked by Paw, and evidently its still a sore point with you. ... Get used to it, guy. You'll live.

Paw, I'm with Krysilis, waterbuffalo, P-Mosh, etc., on this. You gotta take care of yourself and family _first_, even over Greasespot Cafe. Without a doubt. You, my man, make Job look pitiful in the patience dept. :o Many of us (*including* yours truly) have acted like spoiled brats, treating GS like we're entitled to it. That may or may not have been what we thought or intended to begin with, but a lot of our actions sure as hell conveyed that. How many of us, if we were in your place, would have thrown the aforementioned spoiled brats out on their (cyber) ears for even the first or 2nd transgressions? Most of us would have, methinks (including, like I said before, yours truly). Why not just set up a static site re: TWI and splinter groups. My Gawd, all the search engines must love Greasespot hitwise, as it just about *always* comes up on the first page whenever someone types in "The Way International" in the search field, so people trying to find this info provides --zip-- of a problem. Make the site to where it takes a very _minimal_ amount of time to maintain (ohhh like 5 minutes per year). And any of us who wants to whine and bellyache about "Paw's abandoning us!!!", ... well, we need to get an f'ing life and grow up! (Besides, Paw's moniker didn't make him our surrogate father now, did it?) Or, you can shut this site down _entirely_. It's all up to you. Sir, you and your motivation to help us ex-Wayfers goes above and beyond the call of duty, and as far as I'm concerned, should earn you Sainthood (sorry MarkOMalley, for using a Catholic ritual to illustrate this point, but that's my take upon Paw's contribution to this world.) If you have come to the point of saying "That is IT. That's ALL. ... Final call to the bar folks, cuz' I'm gonna close this place TODAY!!", ... _none_ of us has the right to say _anything_ in complaint. ... At ALL. And I say all of this in truth. So, from me, I say "Thank you, live long, and Prosper!" (Garth stands up and salutes Paw)

Hhmmmm, ... how about Leaving a Religion? Any similar characteristics from your list applicable there too? ... No? How about the following characteristics of one leaving a religion (and yes, Virginia, I have experienced all of these in leaving Christianity) 1) Lingering fear of being punished/struck down/judged by God at the Final Judgment/similar thoughts, which usually (for quite some time) used to pop in, out, and back in again. 2) Lingering fear of being open with still religious people about leaving God, since they will either a) try to convert you back again, b) treat you with pity/suspicion/distrust/or even downright volatility, or c) ignore you as tho' you aren't worthy to listen to. 3) Selfsame fear in opening up to your parents/family about walking away, for the reasons just mentioned. 4) Apprehension as to being found out in your work area/school/public life/etc. Again, for the same reason. ... Oh, and don't even think about running for political office, unless you live in an area where religious influence in your district is minimal, and maybe not even then. (This I have not experienced myself, but have talked with those who have. <_< ) Before anybody here thinks that this is derailing this thread, stop and compare the two concepts for a minute, will you? Concept #1: The effects upon a person when they leave a 'cult', and Concept #2: The effects upon a person when they leave religion (ie., the Judaeo-Christian one in this instance, since that viewpoint is the most predominant.) Although they might not be identical in every way, consider the psychological effects in each approach. Consider what the individual goes through mentally, what they go through socially, the major changes they go through in such a transition; the leaving, the walking away from something that they used to believe in and invest pert near their entire lives in. And now that they broke free (in both comparisons) and are having nothing more to do with their respective belief systems (and no matter what the deceptive, browbeating, manipulative tactics were/are being used in _both_ to varying respective degrees, they (both 'cult' and religion) are belief systems), ... those people who walk away go through one helluva psychological trauma of sorts. See, this is what I find so hilarious when people speak of 'cults' and religions, as tho they are two totally distinctive animals. ... Uummmm, they aren't. Not really. (As a matter of fact, the term 'cult' used in the dictionary used to have a neutral meaning that communicated simply 'a group of followers of a person, idea, or thing.' Which includes any and all religions.)

a-n-n-d .... what is 'normal', ... ... hhmmm?

I noticed that looking at his hairstyle, that it reminds me of Blavo. ;) Hey Hayes, wanna tell us if you're still involved with the Liberty Lobby?? <_<

'why?' Good question. So why do _you_ seem to care, hhmmm? You apparently care enough to post about it. ;)

When I hear a lot of people talk about others who are either rich/famous/celebrities, part (_part_ mind you) of where they are coming from is jealousy. Also a lot is mentioned about how greedy/condescending the rich/celebrities often behave towards other people (which is a genuine point of complaint to a sizable degree, and I see that sort of illustrated in your posts re: Oprah. That she's not in the same league with the rest of us common 'po folks'). And yes, a lot of them do contribute to charities/causes/whatever to relieve their tax burden, and Oprah does this as well. However, one thing that has Oprah stand out (as far as I'm concerned), is that she (and a few other celebrities as well) uses her *star power* to bring attention to causes/issues that need focusing upon. Domestic violence/child molestation was one of her earlier ones. And that goes beyond whatever tax dollars that she can avoid to pay. Usually you don't see mega-dollar corporate heads doing that. Usually they give a lot to their favorite charities, maybe pose for a picture or two, and that's the last you hear of them, while they take off several million off their taxes in the meantime. While Oprah does take off for her taxes, she has (again from what I've observed) focused on her favorite causes to spread abroad for others to help out on, to encourage others to contribute as well. ... Frankly, there has to be something positive to be said about that. Regardless of her weight.

"So simple, ... even a Lithuanian can do it!"

One thing I can say re: Oprah Winfrey that just can't be said about a lot of other celebrities: At least she puts her MUCHO dollars (the lack of which that usually winds up being at the _real_ base of a lot of complaints like Ponds, ... if they really care to get honest about it <_< ) to good use helping many people in this country, and throughout the world, as much as she can. So she complains about her weight and admits that she hasn't been as successful in that area as she might want. So BOO HOO! How many rich and not-so-rich people lie to themselves when it comes to this, hhmmm? I say go Oprah, and continue doing what you're doing, and just keep trying as to the weight issue, yet cut yourself some slack, girl.

Moral of the story: Don't live in an igloo.

Yet Another GS Denizen does the "Goodbye!! I'm leaving now! ... I'll never come back again! ((snif)) ..... See ya!!" routine. ... ... Which should last for, ohhh, about 2-3 days, and then they quietly come back by slipping in the back door. <_<

Never mind! Found the solution. In order to copy over music files to said destination (Ie., the IPhone), ..... they have to be in the correct original folder from whence you're copying them from, ... and not somewhere else. And ITunes won't tell you that. It just acts like nothing's happening, thus giving the impression that the music just can't be copied over. ((sigh)) Oh well. File it under the Insignificant Yet Irritating Things one Deals with when Working with Computers Category. <_<
-
I just got an IPhone today, and I'm wondering how to copy music files FROM a PC TO the IPhone. Step by step please. And do I need to 'unlock' it, or what? I know that there are people here who have an IPhone, so if you could help me out in this area, that would be great. :B) Thanks in advance.

61 > 60, and 60 years = six decades. But then again, you know what they say about "You're as young as you feel!" ... so how old do ya feel?
-
Over Six Decades old!?! ...... ..... errmm, ... ahh, ... I mean, Happy Birthday Ron! Has Andrew gotten you your rocking chair yet as your B-day present yet? ... I mean, so you can enjoy the view from your front porch of the rest hom----ahhh, I mean, your house, and all.

No good American cars anymore? Hhmmm,.... I have a 2001 Ford Taurus in very good condition that has been running jes peachy for me for over the past year and a half. And it's _proven_ reputation as to its worthiness and operability is well known, ... even (grudgingly) among many of those who have totally sworn off American made cars. Another thing that many people forget when it comes to the quality of cars, -- maintenance. Whether you're talking about American or foreign, you don't keep it maintained, it's gonna turn into a pile o' crap anyway.

..... uhmmm, ..... when will that be? <_< ((still waiting))

... but d-a-a-d-d! ... He started it!! :P
