  1. LLPOF, If Smikeol offers you a green card of any kind, ... to quote from that one scene about the killer rabbit in Monty Python's "Search for the Holy Grail": "Run away!! Run away!!!" :D-->
  2. Actually, SBC does own these phone spinoffs that were once part of AT&T: Ameritech, Southern New England Telecommunications, and Pacific Telesis Group. So it looks like you got a solid company to work with anyway. Now all you have to look for is the good customer and tech support and good connections, and you're golden. And overall, what the DSL guy told you was true. :)-->
  3. SBC? I don't think so, unless Bellsouth rents/operates some of their cables/equipment, and I kinda doubt that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Site upgrade

Geeezz! Give Paw and his administrators *some* credit, willya? :D--> ((ducking)) Paw, so in other words, it might be a good idea for us to get up out of our chairs, walk outside, and do real people things for at least a couple of hours! Right? :D-->
  5. Steve, I gotta concur with notinKansasanymore on this one, dude. Especially since it has the feel of "I'm gonna take our personal conflict and bring it out public." I mean, damn! Did he ask/give you the OK to do so? (Looks like to me that you old him you were gonna do it, instead of asking him if it was OK) Or is it one of those "Well, Jesus told me it was OK to breach personal bounderies and whatever confidentialities, and shout this from the housetops" like 'revelations'? Oh, and I could be wrong, but it also seems to have a distinct Momentus flavor to it too. -->
  6. I don't mean to sound the pessimist here, but my 10 will get your one, John is gonna get smoked. :D--> Especially if he tries his "its my spiritual duty to interrupt your life with the Truth" song-and-dance. I'll wager and give him 3 posts that he'll make before that happens. IMHO of course.
  7. Also check out the company that is offering the DSL. Some of these small companies that might offer 'unbeatable' deals might not be around tomorrow, as there is still a shakeout going on between companies. Usually its the bigger companies, particularly phone companies (who typically own/control the phone line backbone networks) that offer more security and stability in the DSL accounts. Note I said *usually*, not *always*. I have had very good service, both in connection uptime, and tech help, with Bellsouth FastAccess DSL. They aren't the cheapest (I don't believe any of the phone company offered DSL services are), but if stable and secure conections are a big thing with you, you might want to consider thesekinds of companies. And as usual, it still is a case of "Let the Buyer Beware!", so watch your step, etc.

    AOL 9.0

AO-Hell?!? **ACCKKKK** :P--> But to be fair, AOL does have its positive uses, really it does, ..... ..... like using its CDs for coffee coasters. Recorded side UP for the used coffee cup to sit right on it. Get a set of 6. :)--> ..... or using them for skeet shoots. ..... "Pull!" ... **BAMM** ..... or using them for bulls-eye target practice. Just take the CD and paint it red. ...... (aiming at the CD from 100 paces ... **BOOM**) ..... frisbees! Now there is a fun toy for all ages. As well as for your dog to slobber all over. :D-->
  9. What exactly is a "tad?" A bit more than a smidgen, but that's only if your using the English Imperial Measurement system. I don't know how it figures out using Metric. :D-->
  10. Jeff, (I've posted this before, and I'll post it again. -->) Both the Trinitarians and the Unitarians have been making "the other side has finally met its match!" and "This means the difference between life and death!" claims back and forth for, ohh, the past 1600 years. VPW joined in with his "Aha!!" claim when he came out with his "Jesus Christ is not God!" book too. And so it continues, this silly theological 'war' that so many deem to be so important, ... but isn't. ... with the exception that the only important thing about this was the lives that were lost and ruined due to this stupid argument. ..... Ahhh, yes! Such a spiritual *deliverance* --- NOT! :P-->
  11. To be honest, the fact that he broke TWI's 'rules' to expose what they were doing like he did during the late 80's, is something I respect. Tell me something Mj412. Does portraying John Schoenheit in a very positive light because of his adultery paper do anything to lessen this 'CES is a cult' mantra that you keep harping on? As tho' it takes away from what you are saying about how bad CES is? That's what it looks like to me. ... And frankly, I find that a tad dishonest. Think about the question for a bit before you respond please.
  12. So is there a subtle hint here that Cowgirl should, umm, ..... see a doctor? :D--> Let us know what the doc says Cowgirl, ok? That's after you ... see a doctor.
  13. You know how much of the mainstream church and other religious groups over the centuries you could include in that statement? And how many people who would never go that far? ;)--> So could I, MJ. So could I.
  14. Yeah, right! Depends on whose definition you use. Some say a 'cult' is one thing. Others, with just as much conviction, say its something else, even if they sometimes contradict what the 1st said. And then there are those who are rather selective about whom they apply the 'brainwashed culthead' label to. :P--> One thing for *damn* sure. It ain't no science. Not by a L-O-N-G shot, despite what the ((cough)) 'experts' say. -->
  15. All of which have no bearing on *that which actually happened*. Caio.
  16. Oldies, Of course they differ, and that is neither here nor there. What is the deciding point is the validity or lack thereof of the points that differ one way or another. So that pretty much precludes any judgement/discernment that we are capable of making about what the man did? What he was? .... Ahhhh, nope! Not in this life! And besides, I am wary of statements like 'God will judge' that are made in a dodge-the-issue manner. ... Oh, and how many people do you 'judge' due to them being 'off the Word', especially when it comes to your pet doctrines, like the Trinity, the dead being alive now, etc., based on what you learned in PFAL, hmmmm? So spare me.
  17. What the Hay, and so on and so forth, ad nauseum.Nope chief! The reason why you don't take Rascal's or anybody else's word that criticizes VPW and shows him to be the song-and-dance con man and abuser that he really is, is because you have so-o-o much of your integrity (such that it is) and your commitment wrapped up in VPW's credibility as the Teacher of the Word of God such as it hasn't been taught since the first century, et al. You've been like this l-o-n-g before now. You have this immense opposition to admitting that VPW was/became a fraud. A lot of us did, either when we were in TWI, or even after we left. And no Virginia, I don't buy the 'mind control' half-baked diagnosis either, but then again, I don't have to. ... All this 'VPW apologetics' is based on blind faith in a man/organization/whatever. The kind of faith where you dedicate yourself to believe in [fill in the blank], and remain loyal to it, even to the expense of uncomfortable facts and truths. And when you are at the level that folks like you, Smikeol, Oldies to some degree, and others are, its a BIG piece of crow to munch on to admit that "Ok, so I believed in something that didn't work out like I thought it was. I made a mistake". Did you see that post made by Eagle (called 'Christian Heritage Online') about his site going over what he learned at TWI? Did you see the honesty that he showed in admitting that he now sees VPW as not being the individual that he originally thought? **That took guts! Real, manly, mature, guts!!** You going to be like that regarding this kind of honesty? Or are you going to be, using the recent words of Ah-nold the Governator, ... 'a girlie-man'? (This was not meant to imply that women don't have guts/courage due to their sex. I'm just using terms that I think WTH can identify with. ;)-->)
  18. A sure lesson that is in sore need of learning by some staunch VPW defenders here, no doubt.
  19. Alfakat, Apparently illustrating that goosestepping still hasn't gone out of style. For some folks at least. "Dasssss r-i-g-h-t, keeds!" -->
  20. "Figurines of speech"? Aren't they what you usually find at flea markets and such? ... and for about $1.25? :D-->
  21. Linda, --> See that last quote? THAT is your statement that I responded to. And the quotes that I gave that were made by other people were used as illustrations in response to what you said about you not seeing anyone there making excuses for LLPOF. Clear as mud now?
  22. Linda, The only quote of yours that I responded to was this: to which I responded to with quotes made by others to illustrate those 'making excuses' for LLPOF. Read them again if this isn't clear. ... Ok? -->
  23. Linda, Excuse. Excuse. Excuse. ..... Catch my drift here? The man came in with, if you'll pardon the 'Craiggism' here, "both barrels blazing", an act usually done with forethought beforehand. And regardless of what/how much he has or has not been hurt by TWI himself (or herself, as it could very well be Poppy-Polly-what's-her-face), the return fire that he has gotten was entirely justified, for even with the TWI influence/hurt, one can (and should) realize that coming in ranting like Liar did is totally uncalled for. Period! He got what he deserved. -->
  24. No K-Mart Special Coupons for the next Momentus class for you then. :P :D-->
  25. All we need now to really get the public interest going in this particular 'campaign' is a Janet Jackson-like 'warddrobe malfunction'. It'll give a whole new slew of meanings of the term 'boob job'. :D-->
