Interesting information I have tried the Atkins thing but for me it was a big bust My Cholesterol soared as did my blood pressure and then those lovely little things called Hot flashes were way way worse when I was on it. For me doing the opposite was what did it for me. I switched to Vegetarian eating. I am not a full vegetarian I do eat a bit of fish occasionally and the occasional tiny bit of meat here and there but my numbers all of them were back on track with in two weeks My cholesterol plummeted from 196 to 119 that was the bad one and my good cholesterol went up from 24 to 34 my blood sugar was normal and my blood pressure went from 134/88 to 117/76 And I lost weight. for the first time in over a year all my numbers were in control also a side benefit was that my hot flashes went almost completely away SO I am happy to do the Vegetarian diet, Every body is different and so you really do need to try different things out. I still have about 35 lbs to loose but I am well on my way to being a much healthier person.

That brings up another issue... depending on when you were in and who was leadership where you were at, some folks were mostly left alone and some were completely interfered with. If you were at HQ didn't matter your life was interfered with no matter when you were involved with TWI

Oh I am sure that came into it too but I believe due to the cost of paper itself rising substantially because of a combination of the oil shortages and increased demand for paper. So I am guessing that the rise in paper costs created the need to reduce the cost of producing the books by eliminating the binding, gold stamping etc. For those interested it was a world wide shortage in the early through mid 70's

I think what really makes a marriage work... and this is just based on my own experience.. I can not give you chapter and verse. but When you and you mate are friends first and formost... by friends I mean you genuinely enjoy spending time together... doing mundane things and fun things... You each have things that you enjoy doing on your own and do them mostly on your own. You respect each others opinions. and you treat each other kindly at all times(yes we all have fights and yell at each other but if you are calling each other vile names that is not good) You treat each other like equals and value each others opinion. The last part of the equation is physical attraction. you have to find each other exciting. This is last on my list because in reality and I am sure I have the numbers a bit wrong but in reality the sexual part of your marriage is about 10%. Yes I know when you first are together the numbers are a bit different but over your lifetime I would say 10%. BTW I have been married 27 years now... and we met and married while in teh WAY. The ministry totally messed that up, for many people and if you think the attitude to leave your spouse for teh word wasn't around from the early days of twi you would be wrong. I saw it happen to others myself. Edited for clarity .

Cost effective strategy. The cost of paper skyrocketed in the mid seventies. They were paper back when I took it in 79 so I am assuming they changed in 76 or 77?

But spittle versus spitting is two different things at least I believe. Spitting is usually done with a forceful expelling of air and usually with the intent to insult or get rid of something icky in your mouth. and spittle is like your Mom washing the gorp off your face when you are a little kid. Of course this is 1. Not biblical or with any biblical backing up of said thoughts with a scriptural reference. 2. Just my humble opinion in view of my own life experiences. Okay I am jumping in the fray. actually the questionnairs coming in would have the twigs address on them and it is not such a big leap to see that they would have gotten matched up with names at head quarters... Did they??? we do not know but the possibility is still there. Since none of the classes ever really were changed one wonders what that information was really used for. Regarding the two different syllabuses. IT actually is a totally different Class White Dove I understand that to you, you had that information for the other 34 pages at your disposal...but most people taking it (The majority) would have only had the two pages.. And I realize this is a small point but I would venture to guess ..And it is only a guess that there was at the very least a bit of discussion during your way corps experience of taking the class. I do not think the actual class itself was different but the information available to review and study would have been completely different, and let's be honest many people did study and read their, books, Pamphlets etc after they took TWI class. Not only on their own but with in their Twigs and or WOW years.

Reading this makes me extremely glad I never took this class. I would not want my personal information being sent to some anonymous person to log into my permanent file some where.

That would be probably 9th Corps as that is the one my husband was in. They were in Residence 78-79 wow 79-80 Back in residence 80-81 unless it started sooner.

Ears on (Are you listening on your Radio) and others. I agree the Midnight thing was probably added as a time element and it was used to scare people... SO loving a leader >> Blargh!!!
