  2. LOL YEs she is that is why my girls named her Magneato Her name sake is the bad guy in the X-men
  3. LOL I think that on all the long threads when I am trying to read them.... And to add to the fun there are bible verses quoted on most of them too. LOLOL
  4. :) Maybe he will spill the beans But I am not holding my breath.
  5. OMG so that is the famous video. IT got taken down before I got to see it. LOL Omkay that explains everything. Thanks Waysider.
  6. You think so?????
  7. They didn't show it at all when I was involved but really at that time in the late 70's early 80's no one but the board and elders really knew the financials of any church. IT has become a common practice to share it now with parishioners. As to TWI's current practice I do not know. and did they ever share it for those of you who were in longer or at a higher level I was after all just a leafytwiglet.
  8. Personally I love those warnings on products... I read them and then I try to think of what on earth the idiot who sued the company was doing .. or for that matter thinking when they injured themselves. Really now how idiotic do you have to be to put a hot cup of coffee you were just handed between your legs and drive off in your car and then get mad because you spill it on your tender skin. How rude of McDonalds to sell you Hot coffee. We need labels on people .. This person is too stupid to live do not sell them any of your product.
  9. Kerosene was the standard procedure before they came out with the chemical treatment and the chemical treatment usually takes several applications.. IT can get very expensive. another smothering agent would be Mayonnaise the real kind not the light stuff. Also way cheaper and more effective than the chemical stuff they sell.
  10. Now there is some truth we can all get behind Waysider. Potato You are amazing. And they obviously only went so far with the Suzie Ormand book . IT recommends to work your self up to 8 or 9 months of savings to tide you over. I doubt TWI would be too happy about them reading her book she suggests strongly that all women have their own account and their own credit card that do not have the Hubby's name on them.. for stuff like what happened to Potato. And also how true that sometimes we do not have control over what is going out. Most of us have what we have by a combination of luck and carefulness. Oh thanks I was just pointing it out because you are really such a sweetie and I figured you did not know. Another trick that can be used is to write their email as johnsmith at yahoo.com like that. anything to defeat the evil computer spam bots is my theory.
  11. mchud please go back and edit your post with the ladies email and put the spaces back in it. That is done as a courtesy for people so they do not get inundated with SPAM mail from bots. there is software out there that searches for emails on line. I know you are trying to make it easier for people to email her but it was unnecessary just telling them to remove thte spaces is all that is necessary
  12. IF you really are interested in growing them here are a few links for you Keep in mind they like good drainage and they are vines and reach up to 30 feet long. Different varieties grow differently and you should get a variety that works well in your climate http://www.breworganic.com/tips/growing-hops.htm On this site there is also a bit of Hops history and a nice picture CLick on the picture to link to the information http://www.thymegarden.com/ About Hop growing for the small farm project http://www.crannogales.com/farm.html An excellent tutorial with pretty much all the info you would need to grow them for the home gardener. http://brewingtechniques.com/library/backi....3/montell.html
  13. Jeff excellent job these bring some light to the whole gas pump story too don't they. And my most favorite verse I hope you don't mind me tacking this one on to your sharing. BE still and KNOW that I am GOD.Psalm 46:10 When My life is in turmoil I always think of that verse and stop and breath and pray to God. IT is a wonderful Psalm Read the whole thing if you get a chance. I am off to read your verses and some context.. Thanks for these Leafy
  14. Sits waiting to hear more verses.. The ones I can think of in my limited knowledge of the bible include Moses and Paul. Well Adam and Eve. and Abraham and hmmmm.
  15. So far my favorite home made was an oatmeal stout. I think I have that name right IT i s a rich amber color and has this molassasy flavor very very good.
  16. MY Hubby makes home made beer now and he was saying the other day he has a hard time drinking the store stuff now even the expensive kinds. I not being a big drinker have to admit that many of our Home brews are really quite good and even I enjoy them THe flavor is so much richer and more complex.
  17. LOL I am voting for teh stripper too. And LOL at two years later. what a goof my favorite line is the one about never being back to a strip club since Snerk!
  18. Maybe that was the intent but the first post was worded in such a way as to make it seem like you were going to talk about more than the finances of TWI. Now we know what was meant.
  19. I have a little scoop and divided their food up into two feedings one for morning and one when I get home I took the total of food they are supposed to get and divided it by two but they still get a bit too much well really the piggy one does but she is getting less than before
  20. LOL Michael These are very good.
  21. Twinky I still say hang in there and have patience. They may never be the sit in your lap cuddlers you are hopping for but with time they will warm up more and more to you and one day be much less afraid of you. I still stand by what my neighbor did with theirs and he is quit the lover.
  22. LOL all I can think of is Elephant turd and am sitting here laughing my head off.
  23. I agree with Twinky. I feel my W.O.W. year was successful for me. Maybe I was lucky and got a good FC and BC and LC but when I went WOW I went not to run classes I went because I wanted to take a year and dedicate it to GOD..Not TWI and I would venture to say with complete confidence that every one of the Nine of us that completed our year together felt the same. We went to spend a year serving GOD... We viewed running a class as just a happening .. Our focus always was to grow within ourselves. Did I have a perfect year no but I did have a lot of fun. And i grew in my walk with God. And that year profoundly affected my continued walk with God until today, and I suspect it will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I did not ever expect the ministry to pay for any part of what I was doing. I chose it I went into the program knowing that what I was doing was something very special...(I am not talking about the class now I am talking about focusing on GOD) I believe that GOD has honored those who went out and stood on the WOW field. OR went to HQ and worked toward serving in that capacity I believe that God looks at your heart and knows that those who were there for the most part were there because of their love for God and their desire to do good. I believe God honors the good that we do. Was everything that VPW taught true No but neither was it all false. IT was stolen. People chose to go out WOW or Fellow Laborers or Corps or family corps or chose to run twigs or worked at HQ because they really Loved God. Most people were there for the right reasons. Yes people got hurt Yes VPW was doing much of what he did for his own profit. But that is true of pretty much any thing you would endeavor to do.. because Man is a sinner and Man is not perfect. Could you have had it done better if you had gone through another organization. Maybe yes but maybe no. Did it interrupt the path you were on. Perhaps for some, perhaps not. But please stop judging peoples service to God by your perception of VPW and the board and that band of people because no matter where you go you will find those things I hate VPW now, and I am angry at what he did. But My life as A WOW was because of my commitment to follow God. I will forever view that time as a special time in my life and it will forever be successful for me.
