Congrats to you and your lovely PArtner. And here is to many more years for you both to be together.
-
I skewed the data a bit... We left quickly it was a difficult decision but Also I left because my spouse needed to leave. IF that hadn't happened we would have been around a few more years. SO I picked both scenarios.

Thanks I was beginning to think I was the only one who got these lectures LOL... They told me that line too about stop trying to reinvent the wheel. I am guessing it was told to Corp people who wanted to try to research the bible. I was in from 79 to 83. And was told repeatedly that I should just do the PFAL Sylibii and not try to do my own word studies in the bible. IT was an argument revisited often with various leaders. HEhehe

For me it is Life... I love living. I love doing and seeing everything. There is always something new around the next corner... sometimes I do not really want to go to work and some times I would rather be at work than home... but for me I just love living and doing and being and seeing my family and friends. (yes I know I am disgustingly optimistic but to tell the truth my life as an adult is so much better than what I lived through as a kid... that every day feels like a gift) Mind you some things really suck like getting laid off... being sick or losing some one you love... but most days really are good. Regarding Yogurt and cereal I prefer fresh fruit with yogurt on top and cereal(granola) sprinkled over that.. but to trade yogurt for milk Nah that would be weird.

LOL These are both so funny. I have a theory that there is a Monty Python skit to cover any situation in life.

Bolsihevek:: that brings back memories... I still remember everyone doing the notes with the little rulers and I do have some in my margins... but never got that far into the notation part of it... Mostly I was such a poor word study person I never felt comfortable just writing notes in there.. I do have lots in ephesians, I timothy, Acts of course and I cointhians. But I was repremanded several times for wanting to go by myself and study stuff before I filled up my bible with stuff. I was supposed to just take what I was told and build on that. I guess I was arrogant in my own way wanting to learn it myself. I still don't understand what the harm would be in me doing the studying myself to see how the person got to what they got too. Good grief were they afraid I would come to a different conclusion... I was told I was not equiped to be able to study... becasue I didn't know the hebrew words blah blah blah.. How could my untrained brain understand these things. Gads I still get angry about that after all these years... here I joined a teaching and research ministry so I could study the bible more effectively on my own or with others and they were telling me not to study.. but to just listen to what i was told. I must have got this same lecture from at least 5 different corp people. One was my Husband. Did they tell yuou this in corps... that you couldn't study on your own as you were not able to pick up the subtle nuances that HEir Doctor understood becasue he had studied for 40 years and God spoke to him. (Yes I am an idiot I kept saying I wanted to study it a bit more myself in the bible... you would think I would learn to shut my big mouth after the second lecture but no I am slow sometimes.)

Hmmm same two categories as when we were all in.. just fewer numbers. As long as they continue to isolate themselves their numbers will decline. THis is a good thing in my opinion. Sooner or later they will become extinct.

Submission---Who has to do it?
leafytwiglet replied to brideofjc's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
I have no Clue... I like what WG said. I am married... we talk things over.... we don't always agree but we usually try to go with who ever is the most affected by the decision... If we really disagree sometimes we wait a month or two and revisit the issue.... usually the person who feels the most strongly about it wins. so to speak.... but we always try to be equals with each other. Sometimes one of us is better at something than the other so that is generally that persons job... but we both try to pitch in when the need is there. I guess what I am trying to say is perhaps submitting should not mean enslavement. As to Marriage going away... I say no.. maybe the institution, the piece of paper, but people are meant to join together in some fashion... the paper doesn't really make it a marriage... even the ceremony doesn't What makes it a marriage is the way the two people work together with each other and enjoy being together. How committed in their hearts they are to each other. -
LOL

And what are all the other flavors that are peoples favorites?????
-
I still have mine. I also got rid of all the other way material. I don't use my old Way bible anymore... I have recently gone back to my bible I had before the Way.

Hey Roy... Wow you sound great. I am glad you are in a better living situation. God Bless... and a Holy kiss LeafyTwiglet.

I quote: The class that changed everybody's life that took it. Remember how your heart burned within as you heard it? How special is the person that owns the PFAL class? This class is really worth five million dollars. I don't want just any idiot to have it. Don't let this one slip by. It maybe another 20+ years before you see another. Well How SPECIAL IS the person that owns those tapes???? And this begs teh answer to did your heart burn when you heard the tapes?

Don't forget the sheer power of the need to rebel as most of us were at that stage too where we were doing anything we could to rebel against our parents and society at large.
-
Hmmm this could be interesting. Sits down to watch the results. Technically I chose to go myself but a friend told me about it and invited me to the class. I took the class and then went to twig.

even weirder they have that bible verse about not selling or buying truth. Right on the front page. Edited to add the verse Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding Hmmm how could I have been so blind not to see this when I was involved.

Our favorite place is the Haute Enchilada they just moved to new digs so it looks quite respectable in this picture... before it was in this hole in the wall kitzhy cafe I am hoping the new patio retains the previous charm. Either way the food is out of this world excellent. Yeah I can taste the "frijoles negro" just sitting here at my computer.. do not be tricked into going to the nearby whole enchilada... not that their food isn't dellicious too but it in no way compares to the Haute enchilada. Walking distance to the ocean and a really fun area .. it is located in Moss Landing... a hole in the wall fishing town there. just north of Monterey, Caifornia. Edited cause I forgot the link The Haute Enchilada Cafe

This is neat. -
The large all white chickens could be Rock X's too They were bread for the roasting oven rather than laying.. but I agree about the leghorns... they are not the prefered chicken for me.. I didn't have the poop issue as much as the silly thing would just freak at any little thing and run willy nilly all over the place. The Rock X was a rooster he was quite calm but by four months old was getting quite large and by six months was just about too big to get a round. I gave him to a neighbor who had a large family so they could butcher and eat him and then they kept him.. he finaly died from a heart attack, I think... poor guy.. he was actually a nice rooster as far as that goes.
