  1. I have never had to stake the corn.. i think because it grows up with the wind blowing it so it's roots and stalk compensate for the wind. Now tomato plants those I have to stake and use guide wires to keep them upright in the wind especiially when they are full of fruit.
  2. I have mine... I kept it and always will, not in honor of the way but in honor of those people I went WOW with...and that year of my life. We stood together... IT was a long year, some good some bad... but it meant so much to and me to those of us in my WOW family... No matter what the ministry is or was .. That pin is what I have left that is a reminder of that one year I spent entrusting my life to God and trying to have a closer walk with God.
  3. Okay I started to write out instructions but decided to see what was already out there. http://www.reneesgarden.com/articles/3sisters.html These are excellent instructions if you have a square garden.. Adjust accordingly. Regarding the Wind we live in a very high wind area.. so what i do to ensure my Corn is polinated is plant them in a rectangle with the narrow side facing the wind and the plants stretching out behind.. I make at least 3 rows... with at least 4 plants to a row. I hope that makes sense. The biggest issue with the wind is pollination Now sometimes in the first corn stalks at the front of the row I get 1/2 pollinated ears but all the rest are fully pollinated. I did do the beans and corn together one year and they both did very well. I do a bit of companion planting as everything is happier with a friend. Some interesting combination's I have found.. Apple trees and zucchini LOVE each other. This is also true of Bush beans and cucumbers. and another happy pair is basil and sweet peppers. some plants that hate each other are black berries and raspberries.. If they are too close together they both fail to thrive. Tomatoes and apricots also hate each other... Be sure your tomatoes are completely away from your apricots... any fruit will be happier with mint near by and I have heard that Loveage is a plant cheerleader... all your plants in your garden will be happier with a Lovage bush around. I have been trying to get some for a while but have been unsuccessful so far.
  4. LOL no Tweeting you twiters because the wages of tweeting is ..no twiting
  5. LOL well if you are the guy with the red hair and the mustache I think I met you once at ROA or that guy has a doppleganger. but unfortunately I don't remember your name LOL So your secret is safe with me.
  6. Hmmm Okay I am guessing you have a mustache and red hair. I am not in the picture but I took the class in 1979 too and I was probably a couple thousand miles away! LOL
  7. Hmmm Maybe but the photo is dated December of 1985...
  8. I think many of us have difficulty separating the people we knew and loved that were/are in TWI from the teachings and intent of the FMOG (fake man of god).... We were there for a genuine reason and have trouble believing that the FMOG and his cohorts were there for a different reason. Because we are good honest believers we have a hard time believing someone would lie about their own walk with God and beliefs. I am finding that I have to remind myself that from the get go the Way was not there for a spiritual reason. VP was a con man and worked his con big time not just on us but on his family and friends..... I believe people are essentially who they are and if given half a chance their real nature will shine through. I know some people try to excuse bad behavior by playing the I was a victim trump card but what I know from my own life is that people decide to be who they are in spite of what their life is as a child and young adult. FMOG was an donkey butt from the get go... his life shouts this to high heaven... Where the ministry went spiritually wrong was with the founder who was anything but spiritual.
  9. I love the picture Idea. with notes from each person that is lovely and thoughtfull one party I went to you each cut off a piece of toilet paper to be how big around the mama's belly is. That one was really fun because people made really long pieces of toilet paper. I also like the dollar bill thing too that sounds interesting but you would want to clue folks in about that one in the invitation. you could name the baby... this is always fun especially if there is a prize for weirdest name. I think a catered affair is really good for you too but if you can't for money reasons do finger type foods or get some nice rolls and some trays of lunch meat and cheese a veggie tray and a fruit tray some chips and dip and perhaps a nice salad with vinaigrette on the side. Desert as someone else said is cake of course. This way folks can make their own sandwiches as they go thru the line. Every one is happy. If you must do food for what ever reason do spaghetti with french bread and a salad. it is simple and easy and no fuss no muss really. OR order Pizza delivered. this is another easy solution but a bit pricey.
  10. I'm new to twitter what is a hash tag
  11. Hmm Well I am new here does that count?
  12. Hammy??? DO they really still monitor the site?
  13. I would have liked going for a ride in her. She really seemed ship shape at that time. When was she sold? And Why? or was this all part of Craig and the twi bleeding money
  14. LOL We sure did only you have way more info. Okay And I will probably catch flack but it really is a pretty design that was painted on her .. and when we came in from the WOW field we got to go on a tour of ambassador One in the hanger. it was so spotlessly clean in there. and it was a fun thing and kind of nice after a long year. I know VP was a bastard and all but it was a pretty cool thing that we got to do. At least for me..
  15. Here is some info San Diego - International / Lindbergh Field (SAN / KSAN) USA - California, December 1985 The photo was taken by a Frank C Duarte Jr. Who takes photos of Jets . HE is a professional ?? Photographer with thousands of jet photos I googled him I think he just happened to be there and took the photo. At least that is what the notes on the plane seem to indicate. Any body Know what function either Martindale or VP was attending? San Diego December of 1985. It was after I left so I have no Idea. Water Garden how Sad!
  16. And of course Snopes http://www.snopes.com/religion/wellhell.asp Carry on with the better part of the discussion ... is hell real or ... I
  17. The story of the hole t hell is not true http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/d/drilltohellfacts.htm According to this site and they list their extensive search to track people down to prove it. The sounds on the recording don't sound real... and I personally don't get that building of fear you get when you hear a recording of an actual person in distress. But that is just me... I find it telling that he(Rev. Dollar) doesn't share hardly any bible verses at all it is anecdotal at best. THough interesting and entertaining. Dang I wish the internet had been available to me when I was so young and foolish.
  18. Happy Easter to All
  19. Well you all know how I feel about Grease spot.. I am incredibly thankful it is here... Without it I would not have learned all I know about the ministry... I would not have found some freedom from some of the strangle hold doctrine and teachings from the ministry. I have come to understand my Husband more. And I have learned that my stay would have only been a bit longer if we had not left when we did, and if we had stayed we might have lost each other. Paw congratulations on the weight loss. You are amazing. Thank you for the Site. I am glad you kept it open. TO the Mods thanks for all you do.
  20. Waysider when you hear what it is you will go OH That!!!!!
  21. Maybe Vicster the grandson? HE has his little copycat thing going on down in the swamps
  22. I always found that story Sad... and it felt out of tune with the other stuff around it... I have no Idea why except that when you read all the other wonderful stuff going on it just seems out of place and out of character... No I never really studied it. IT just seemed odd to me. And when people use it to teach that you need to give all you own by using this story as a threat I find that contemptible.
  23. I am constantly amazed at how much the ministry changed from when I was involved to today. And so Rapidly. I am not saying the bad stuff wasn't there I am just saying where I was located at it was different. The teaching was that Marriage was a partnership. Maybe I am remembering it wrong or maybe what was taught in Corps was different than what we were being taught in Twig where I was at... perhaps a testament to the strength of Character of Dana and Mary Armstrong in Idaho and Kipp Holdren?? Holden??? in Montana. And a frightening Look at how much Craig Martindale twisted the scriptures (which were already twisted into something even more awful)
