  1. Excathedra, I want to work in your department. Together we'll burn some Internet time for the good of our firm. I would be very ....ed if I was not allowed to vist my Grandpa's grave site once in a while. Victor is such a good kid and a good Christian person. What has he done to TWI? He's only 20 for God's sake. He wasn't even born when those old farts were abusing their power and screwing things up. Just because he chooses to go to CFF maybe..... but heck they have so many young people his age and they have such a great time, can you blame him?
  2. OK, you two, I see you are wasting your bosses time on The Internet. Get back to work! (Cracks whip) Back in the days when ya'll were on staff all those years I just can't imagine this kind of stupidity. Doug was not a WayDaler or GreaseSpotter and was not even involved in TWI II. His issuee could have been handled immediately upon first attempt without TWI giving away their precious rights. But to invite the man in and have a friendly talk with him, ask him what exactly is it that he wanted and allow it or make a few exceptions to the VERY FEW that would have even wanted to have bothered to come..... .....to have a dialouge with affected parties. Make them feel welcome, tell them how much they appreciate the many years of service and all the help they have given people while they were in TWI............ It may have been all it took to solve this. But I think TWI would feel as if they were compromising with Satan himself to dialogue with "copouts". Dummies.... They need to get out more.
  3. Yeah, Socks, and Ex. I remember how he (they) felt about Dave Anderson and maybe even Peter Wade too. I did not know those men but in todays Internet era I have seen their works and Peter even teaches at fellowships in America including CFF and others. They seem like good Christian men who have wanted to help people. All I can say is what I heard them (bot) say and what I heard them imply strongly. That people would always be welcome. I also saw them welcome people who had not been around for a long time or who were not attending fellowships. It's not like they invited them into their living rooms but they just sort of let people alone and allowed them to drop in on a Sunday or the ROA or whatever as long as they didn't cause any trouble. I saw a lot of this when I lived there for a year and was almost every Sunday on bless patrol, ushering and even a tour guide (ha). The solution to this issue could have been as simple as that. Heck, there's not that many people who are interested in visiting anyway, maybe a few. Now it has become a standoff. You guys probably know better than me what might have been. Yes, if someone were there to cause trouble the bot would have been defensive. But if someone wanted to come and visit a family member or loved one whose remains were buried in The Woods I am certain VPW would have welcomed it and maybe even might have went out there with them. I am also certain they would not have allowed this simple issue to escalate into the fiasco it has become. They were better "businessmen" than that if nothing else.
  4. If it were me I would never sign one of those waivers. They are lame. They are almost an insult. Perhaps that is their intended purpose. The founders never intended this, never. It never needed to escalate to this point. Why doesn't RR, make any comments? Instead she makes Magnelli say stuff, a further insult. PErsonally I think Doug and Shannon are right and I hope they prevail in their efforts. TWI could have avoided this easily and still could. It is no bother to anyone at TWI to have an occasional visitor. Let them fence off the area.
  5. Krysilis - Go for a new machine if you have some extra cash. Here is one I am looking at. viviouspc.com But I am waiting a while to let motherboards with the newer PCI Express become more prevalent. Settle for no less than a modern 128mb graphics card. It is doubtful you will need one with 256mb unless you are a DOOM 3 fan. There are only 2 worth choosing from ATI or Nvidia. I prefer Nvidia because there is less trouble with their drivers and their multi - monitor capabilities blows away ATI. See this picture. Dual or triple monitors Settle for no less than a Soundblaster Audigy 2 or 2zs card, and a GB of ram if you get a new computer. Prices are cheap these days. And don't make your speakers a weak link. In your confined space you may only need a 2.1 system. The best 2.1 system today is made by Klipsch, available at Best Buy. Speaking of monitors, don't be fooled by the flat ones. They are cool indeed. But the fact is you can get better quality for less price in a high end CRT monitor. The flat ones are getting better and cheaper, however. A lot of it depends on your environment and space. As a dual monitor user I like the flat ones for another reason. The bezel is smaller, creating less of a gap where the monitors meet. Problem is, the two I want cost $1,000 each! Oh, and one other thing. Unless you really need it or downright WANT it, go with a corded mouse and keyboard, not cordless. Far less problems in general. Get the same brand of each. I prefer Microsoft over Logitech, the only two brands worth choosing from. Have fun.
  6. Wordwolf, I turned off my security center by stopping the service and putting in manual mode. It seems there is a problem with the alerts continuing to alert you even after you tell them not to. Plus I am already amply covered as your post states and do not need double protection. It is all gone. I, too, believe that SP 2 is causing sluggishness in certain things. I can't put my finger on it yet but I have noticed a difference. I am sure we will hear all about it eventually. But I am talking about an existing system, not a clean install or new computer that comes with SP 2.
  7. October 5th, Mr. McMullan will be visiting Way Headquarters again from what I understand.
  8. Oh... that status is not so bad. I will come back after my probationary status is passed and after I have given you weekly written reports of what I am learning each day.
  9. A lot of lives were wrecked by those scathing remarks, because it ultimately got back to the victim. One man told me he was so torn apart by this treatement that he almost became an alchoholic and that it affected his marriage as well. This was especially true in the pre-Internet days before there was a forum such as Waydale or this one where the marked and avoided ones could share their feelings and reconnect with others who were similarly treated. They found themselves suddenly alone, ousted from their friends, and were described publicly as possessed with devil spirits in some cases. It was even worse for those who were gay or in the closet. I was shocked in some meetings at the screaming and venom that was directed towards them. It was distrubing and unnecessary to publicly name their names, calling them possessed faggots, bull dykes, homos from hell and many other hateful things, regardless of whether or not they were allowed to stay. I regret not standing up and saying "shut up" and walking out.
  10. Well, one thing I know is some of my past is buried there. As well as some of my sweat from being on the plumbing crew and garbage crew for a whole year. My pay was $30 a month. :D-->
  11. Quote: "TWI is dying of old age" :D--> :D--> So funny, ..thanks for providing some humor after a long week.
  12. I promise not to post in your territory anymore. I chased everybody away. You have all gone to a private forum and have marked and avoided us. Am I now Dropped Corps, Dropped from Active Corps, Way Corps Alumni, Marked and avoided, on probation, standing in the family, standing in the household, or what? I need to know my identity and place in life or I will take to the bottle or commit hari kari. Don't leave me as one wandering in the wilderness.
  13. Typo in their article, George. Ha, I just got your joke. Believe me, JP is alive and healthy and living a blessed life.
  14. Well, The Way is not a multinational chemical corporation with revenues in the billions as yours probably is, George ..... far from it. But both are probably quite "corrosive" :D-->
  15. And From the Columbus Dispatch ACCESS TO LOVED ONES’ GRAVES Minister, follower file lawsuit against their former church Friday, October 01, 2004 Holly Zachariah THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH Local/State ACCESS TO LOVED ONES’ GRAVES Minister, follower file lawsuit against their former church Friday, October 01, 2004 Holly Zachariah THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH Two former members of the Way International filed a lawsuit this week seeking access to a burial site at the religious organization’s private headquarters in western Ohio. Doug McMullan, a former minister for the Way, and Shannon Bottoms, a former follower whose infant son’s remains are buried on the grounds, filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Shelby County Common Pleas Court. The two seek access to the cemetery and damages of at least $15,000 — an amount great enough to discourage the Way from doing this again, McMullan said. Benson A. Wolman, former chief of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, is representing the pair. McMullan, of Mississippi, and Bottoms, of Tennessee, split from the organization many years ago, and since 2001, have fought for access to the Garden of Living Waters and an area known as the campfire, at the group’s headquarters near New Knoxville. The Way in recent years began requiring people to submit requests in writing to visit the areas. "I didn’t want it to come to this, but I don’t know what else to do," McMullan said. "I have to put the matter before a court and a jury and hope we get some peace and relief that way." Calls to the Way were not returned Wednesday, but officials have said the campfire area —a roughly 15-foot diameter circle of mulch and dirt nestled in a clearing in the Way Woods — was never intended to be a public place of mourning. The Garden of Living Waters marks the burial sites of the Way’s founder, Victor Paul Wierwille, his sons and several founding trustees. Church followers consider the fountain a spiritually important place, so access is limited, the Way has said. McMullan, who is Bottoms’ minister, said the Wierwille family promised them they could always visit. In 1977, when Bottoms’ family still was counted among the Way followers, the ashes of her stillborn son, Matthew, were flown in and buried around the campfire ring. In 2001, McMullan and others took their fight to the Ohio Cemetery Dispute Resolution Commission, which recommended that the Way review its regulations. McMullan, who has twice been arrested when he tried to visit the sites, said any proceeds from the lawsuit will be used for medical expenses of Wierwille’s widow. hzachariah@dispatch.com
  16. I saw a wonderful senior citizen this year named Donna who keeps in touch with Mrs. and visits her, takes her places, etc. Mrs. W. is doing well from what I understand and enjoys Donnas friendship even though Donna left many years ago. From what I understand, her good friend Donna couldn't visit Mrs. W. when she was housed at TWI. Hmmm apparently Mrs W. herself may be another individual who is BOWTWI (better off without TWI). :D-->
  17. Excathedra, hi again. Had it been todays culture, some people from past years in TWI might have received prison sentences for thier actions. I mean, after all, look at the Kobe Bryant case, etc. I knew one Limb Coordinator, for example, who used to routinely beat his pretty wife. They have long since divorced, but charges could have been filed, but weren't due to keeping things in house, lockbox crap, from what I understand. Skyrider, I love your sense of humor. :D--> I'd hate to have some of their jobs with all that daily stress and pressure. Honestly, I would rather wash windows or something. :D--> John R.
  18. Ya'll keep me laughing. Where is our funny Excathedra? Has she been caught away in a whirlwind or in one of these damn hurricanes? Excathedra, listen to my still small voice and post. I know you can HAR me!
  19. Hi Sunesis. Heck some of us zealous ones used to even witness in Emporia and got a few people in classes right from the local area, even with our busy 7th Corps schedules, remember that? Another thing is they seem to have burned so may bridges with so many of us. It literally became a closed door ministry rather than one that used to welcome ALL with open arms of love and kindness. Could that have been so hard to do? If they (top leadership) weren't up for the task then they should have stepped aside and allowed others to do it. Too late now, in my opinion. Sooooo much damage has been done. If it were me I would close the doors, as when a company goes bankrupt. Reinvent the "business model" and open up under some other name or service.....with a different president and a different board.
  20. Where does it end folks: Pair file suit against The Way International (Perhaps someone can provide a more detailed link to the full story) At this point one must surely ask themselves "What is wrong with this organization that so many lawsuits have been filed against it?" In my opinion, regardless of which side of the argument you are on in this sensitive issue, this matter could have been easily settled way before it reached this "boiling point". I believe there could have been a number of ways in which all affected parties could have been appeased rather than taking the hard line stance that The Way seems to have done. In my 25 years involvement in The Way until the year 2000, I have seen it go from: "You are always Welcome at the Way" to ......... the above mess. The way I see it, there is no one to blame except top leadership at the Board of Director level, both past and present. This is mismanagement at the highest level. Too bad elections are not held at The Way International. At least in the USA we have a choice to vote against those in power we feel are doing a bad job and to speak out boldly our opinions for or against them. And they can't mark and avoid us for doing so.
  21. :D--> :D--> Yeah and I am considering boiling my teenager.
  22. Hey Tom, did you fare well? I think I am going to buy a generator for next season. Two days with no electricity sucks.
  23. Hey, Tom. We DID have some damages here in Tampa Bay after all. I'll post a few pictures. Spoke to Claus today at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center He remembered you and said to say hi. Something about you guys used to work in the hotel industry. His email is: claus.daniel@tbpac.org We just did thousands of dollars of painting and caulking for him and he was pleased with it. They are on a very tight budget. But that place is very cool for concerts and such, we have been there many times for events.
