I've never had any but I've heard of all of them. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,573705,00.html

Clay, for a lot of people this is a very healing outlet.Issues get discussed and people can talk about their feelings. Back in TWI, a person would get hurt. He'd leave and people would say "he tripped out" and the same problem would hurt other people. The organization would continue and individuals were disposable. This is what the Greasepot is, a place for people who are are considered disposable by TWI to come and get healed. Do we ever get frustrated and feel like saying "get over it" to each other ? I said it on one occasion and I'm sure others have too. Since we all deal with hurts in different ways we may not always view the way other people deal with them as the best. I view some posters as being too bitter and cynical but that may be a period they have to go through to become whole. We need to be encouraging to each other while we're on our respective journeys.

Which "Dawn Of The Dead" are you watching, the original from the 70's or the remake from a few years ago ? I'm partial to the original.

So what are your plans for Halloween viewing ? I'm going to be watching the Boris Karloff "Frankenstein" movies.

Remember how people would laugh at "Apple butter" ?

If I remember correctly it was said that as part of the deal Geer gets 15% of an area's ABS if they run his class. That can be a serious income source. Geer said in his "Epistle To America" in 1989 that he was working on an Advanced class. 20 years later there still isn't a finished class. I wonder when people will realize that with CFF and the other groups that Geer is no longer the only game in town for Way based teachings. There are Ministries that are under the fear of losing their license and seem to be more concerned with staying in Geer's good graces than in standing approved before God. Apparently some groups in Ca. lost their license so now everybody's walking on egg shells. Anybody got any more details about that ?

Hey Raf, finally saw "Blacula". Some of the makeup was cheesy (Dracula bleeding from the eyes, for example) but it still an enjoyable movie.

I hope you have a day filled with great times and great music ! Happy Birthday!

I was at a friend's (fellow ex-TWI) house for a Labor Day barbecue. He had invited a friend down for the day. To make a long story short, during the conversation I found out the friend was a fellow Greasespot, "the outlaw Josey Wales". We had a great time talking about a lot of things. So has anyone else had similar experiences where you found you were talking to a fellow Greasespot ?

I spoke to my dad. He got the "all clear" from the doctor that they got everything out. That's a blessing.

So are there any offshoots that are involved in showing God's love by any charitable work or are they all retirement homes for aging boomers who were in TWI ?

So my Dad had the melanoma removed and the procedure went well. He'll have to wait 'till next Friday to get the official results but the doc said it looked to him like they got everything. Since I went through this myself I'm not as worried because of how it went with me but I'll still keep praying 'till I hear the test results. Thank you for your prayers.

This is strange. Last week my Dad got told he had melanoma. Everyone told him to get a spot on his arm checked and when he went in he got the same diagnosis as me. He's getting treated this week. Because he had been taking aspirin after a bypass they were worried about bleeding. So he's off the aspirin for a week then they'll work on him this Friday. I guess they're being extra cautious because he's 83. I thought things show up in the parents first then the kids. It's weird that I got it then he does.

I was 12 at the time. I didn't really get into music 'till the summer of '70 so I just missed it. But it was close enough that I can claim it as part of my history. This weekend I'm listening to a lot of the music I have from Woodstock. Monday morning I'll be sure to crank up Hendrix's "Star Spangled Banner."

Actually, Paw, The Band, Ten Years After and the Keef Hartley Band aren't on it because the parties involved couldn't make a deal in time.

Glad you had a great day ! May this coming year be filled with joys and blessings !

Watkins Glen was a concert in New York July of '73 by The Band, The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead. 600,000 were there and the concert claimed the record for the biggest one day concert audience ever.

With the 40th anniversary of the 1969 Woodstock Festival coming up I'm curious if there was anyone here who had been there.

Krys, They told me five years is the standard so I've got 4 1/2 to go.

Went for the six month chest x-ray and blood test. Everything came up clear. Needless to say I am blessed.

We were on vacation at my uncle's cabin in Vermont. I remember us listening to it on the radio.

This weekend I got together and played with a Christian friend in the neighborhood (who's never heard of TWI ) and it was great to be able to play my songs without worrying about not fitting the "productions" mold. We're going to get together again and try out new songs on each other and it's the sort of environment I wish my "believer band" had.

Thanks for the birthday shout, Waysider. I'm feeling very blessed today. I'll enjoy every birthday I have a whole lot more after going through this.

I'm guessing it has to do with the 20th anniversary of Martindale's loyalty letters.

It would be interesting to add the question "how old were you when you left?"
