Here's a thread I started that you might find of interest.

Congrats ! That's great news!
-
The topic is supposed to be "Happy Mother's Day!" Could a mod fix it please ?
-
A "Happy Mothers' Day" to all the moms at the cafe. We just wanted to express our appreciation to you for everything you do. May you have a wonderful day filled with love and happiness.

A very happy birthday to you. This place wouldn't be the same without you ! I hope you have a great day !

My wife and I took the Advanced Class in the summer of '86. I guess you could call it the last "innocent" class because right after it was the corp. week where they read "Passing" and things were never the same. I have the journal I kept and one of these days I should post it with my comments looking back 24 years on.

Jim, You have my sympathy. We listen to news every day and can be detached but every so often something happens that can get to your heart and to have two events like that so close together can get you down. The best thing you can do is pray for those left behind.

Why did Geer's Patriarch Paper "rock our world?"
TOMMYZ replied to skyrider's topic in About The Way
What's really sad is all those people who are still waiting around for Geer to finish his "advanced class", something he's been promising since 1989. What a terrible way to waste your life. -
Bulwinkl, we may disagree politically but here we are in agreement, Moby Grape was a great band!

Anybody try the Windows Essentials antivirus program. A friend of my wife is running it and suggested we try it. Anyone running that one? What antivirus program do you recommend?
-
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm working with WAV files.

Back when I was using Roxio 5 to burn compilations using the "disc at once" setting made it so there wasn't space between songs. I would compile a CD of live music and the music would would flow smoothly. In Roxio 9 or 10 it seems like it's hit or miss. Sometimes the music flows, other times there will be a little silence between the songs, which is irritating in live music compilations. Could someone tell me the proper settings so I don't have this problem. Thanks.

A friend and I have started up a "Creature Features" club where we get together to watch movies. So far we've seen "It Came From Outer Space" and "Tarantula".

Sangat is still active in India but he's affiliated with CFF.

May as well have this in here. press release Statement Regarding Pat Robertson's Comments on Haiti CBN.com – VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., January 13, 2010 -- On today’s The 700 Club, during a segment about the devastation, suffering and humanitarian effort that is needed in Haiti, Dr. Robertson also spoke about Haiti’s history. His comments were based on the widely-discussed 1791 slave rebellion led by Boukman Dutty at Bois Caiman, where the slaves allegedly made a famous pact with the devil in exchange for victory over the French. This history, combined with the horrible state of the country, has led countless scholars and religious figures over the centuries to believe the country is cursed. Dr. Robertson never stated that the earthquake was God’s wrath. If you watch the entire video segment, Dr. Robertson’s compassion for the people of Haiti is clear. He called for prayer for them. His humanitarian arm has been working to help thousands of people in Haiti over the last year, and they are currently launching a major relief and recovery effort to help the victims of this disaster. They have sent a shipment of millions of dollars worth of medications that is now in Haiti, and their disaster team leaders are expected to arrive tomorrow and begin operations to ease the suffering. But I have no doubt that the aid groups CBN supports were among the first in there.

Actually, Leafy, those were my tests. So I've gone one year out of five. Dad's doing o.k. too.
-
Just had another six month x-ray and blood test. All clear, thank God.

I two cool DVD's. My daughter got me a copy of "Yellow Submarine.." I also got this set called "The Ultimate Sci-Fi Collection" that includes such greats as "Tarantula" and "The Deadly Mantis."

I thought I'd revive this one. I've listened to Bob Dylan's "Christmas In The Heart" but I'm still undecided about that one.
-
Over the past few years I've noticed we're getting less Christmas Cards. We've also talked about slimming down our mailing list. I'm 52 and I'm wondering if it's a generational thing or what. Cards used to be the way you kept up on your connections and maybe e-mails have replaced that. I'm now sure. I know this year our annual Christmas letter is going out by e-mail because we're waiting to find out if our daughter made the college play. She won't know 'till next week week and the cards are going out today. Anyway, my question is "are you sending less cards out this year?" Have you noticed a change ?

ART RICHARD/WANDA RICHARD(FERGUSON)/BERRY MELLOW/WINNI DEWITT
TOMMYZ replied to calisprncess's topic in Friend Tracker
Cali, He might remember me. Yes, it's Tom. I and I my wife Laura lived a mile down Meadowbrook Road and we would walk up to the Way home to hang out. I'll have to dig but I'm sure I've got pictures of him from back then. I remember marathon games of "Risk".He was a nice guy. -

I knew Art when he was living in a Way home in 1981 in Merrick, Long Island but haven't seen him since then. I'd love to know how he's doing. -
