My sound card is a Soundblaster PCI 512.

I know with the right cords I can plug my guitar into the sound input on the computer. So I would think there is a program on the market that I could have the equivilant of an 8 track recorder in my computer.

I want to start making demos of my songs on my computer so I can present them to the rest of the band. What's a good beginner program ( and not too expensive ) for home recording ?
-
The only reason you'd want to see it on DVD instead of TV is that 8 minutes into the movie she has a nude scene that wouldn't be on tv.

I just saw at the Foxnews web site that Hunter Thompson shot himself. I am shocked. Like many of us I enjoyed reading his articles in the 70's and laughed at the adventures of "Duke" in Doonsbury. I can't understand why he did it.

To make matters worse, he dies and she commits suicide as help is on the way. A good ending could have made the movie worthwhile but I guess they decided to have a bad ending instead !

Just saw the DVD. This movie is pointless. Don't waste your time !

Could someone explain Cgeer's initial appeal to me ? I never heard of him untill "Passing" in '86. Maybe it was 'cause I was rank and file and not leadership. That summer our FC switched over to getting the Gartmore tapes instead of the ones from NK and my initial reaction was that CG was an uninspiring teacher. When I read his "epistle to the americas" I fired off an angry "who the hell does this guy think he is" letter to the local leadership and when I read "Passing" I got the same reaction, that he was someone who felt only he could do things right. Now maybe you had to be leadership to appreciate him but I never "got" him. What am I missing ? The "splinter group" I'm with would be considered "Geerite" and they're all eagerly awaiting his advanced class. When his basic class came out people thought it was dry and mainly good for people who had never taken PFAL but last year when they thought that AC was coming out everybody was so excited. I don't get it. What am I missing ?

Hi Rottie ! Glad to see you back !

Just got 315.8 so I'm getting there !

Maybe it's my swing but I notice all the nose dives end up around the 200 mark ( or within 10 on either side.)

Finally heard "Smile". I have mixed feelings. I can appreciate what Brian did but I wish he had done it when Dennis and Carl were still around. I guess you can piece together a Beach Boys version from the parts that were released over the years. I'll have to give it another listen so I can hear it on it's own terms.

I'd love to see him come and look for any voting fraud in Cook County IL , the home of the Chicago democrats and Mayor Daley !

I always start to feel the season when I listen to the soundtrack from "Charlie Brown Christmas." If you've never heard it check out "Christmastime" by Michael W. Smith. It's a nice mixture of "reverent" and "warm and fuzzy",

Re a new name for the merged company, does anyone remember the "Evil Dead" series of films ? Bruce Campbell's character worked in a store called "S-mart". The store's pitch line was "Shop smart, shop s-mart." Maybe Sears could buy the rights to that name.

Raf, I loved the ambulance scene too, especially the bit about "name the president." I saw "Day Of The Dead" ( my teenage son has the dvd). I still don't understand the ending with the helicopter scene and I honestly feel like they concentrated too much on the effects and not enough on the plot. I know they cut Romero's budget in half but I feel if you've got a good script you can compensate for a low effects budget. I hear a remake of "Day" may be in the works, I'll be interested in seeing how that tunrs out.

Bought the DVD this week ( just in time for Halloween ) and I enjoyed it untill the ending, which I didn't care for. I still prefer the original version but this was a pretty good film.

My wife and I lived in northeastern PA for two years and the one thing we'll always remember was how beautiful the mountains were when all the trees were changing colors.

I've got two of his CD's that I ordered from his website LARRYNORMAN.COM . I always liked his songs "Sweet Song Of Salvation" ( which I would have loved to hear 3 Dog Night cover) and "Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music."

Hey guys, cut John L. some slack. Before there was a Waydale or Greasespot John was the one people went to with their horror stories about TWI. He really did minister to a lot of people. I konw from experience because John and I exchanged a bunch of letters back in the early 90's. I'm sure if you send him an e-mail he will respond.
-
Well John, if you do check in again, I'd just like to say "Hi". I'm that former New Yorker who sent you the stuff on Servetus back in the early 90's.

My underlying problem with islam is spiritual. To the jews God gave the prophecy that the messiah would be the son of God. When Christ was here He said "This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased." In the Epistles we're told "he who has the son has life and he who doesn't is s.o.l." ( or something like that) Then 400 years later the koran says "God forbid that he (God) should have a son" and this is from the same God ? I don't think so !

Actually, my wife worked for several years at the Chicago Lighthouse For The Blind, helping people adjust. She survives but she'd still like to see normal and we don't want to see our daughter go through this process.
-
I say healing can only come from God because there are parts that are missing and malformed in the eyes. We are seeing an excellent doctor and both my wife and daughter have had several surgeries for the glaucoma.
-
Hi all. My wife is legally blind and suffers from aniridia ( no iris ) and glaucoma. How she could be made whole was one of the things she was looking for when she joined TWI in '74. Our son was born with good eyes but two years later our daughter was born with the same eye problems as mom. The healing she needs can only come from God so that's why she's looking into that area.
