  1. I think it would be great to have them collected in one place.
  2. So are some of these sites to the LDS what the Greasespot is to TWI ?
  3. My wife is really into figuring this out because she and my daughter are both legally blind because of a birth defect that medicine can't fix so a miraculous healing is the only answer. She's been wrestling with this issue since she first got into TWI in 1974.
  4. Haven't seen it. When I saw the title of this thread I thought you were talking about an Elvis movie !
  5. We've ended up having two nights so far. The first time we ended up watching "Red Heat" and last friday we went with "Three Kings". I'll be pushing for "Kelly's Heroes" next time. I think it was a better "get the gold" movie than "Three Kings".
  6. "Tombs Of The Blind Dead" was the first movie. I saw it on "Elvira" back in the 80's. Amazon sells them. There's even a box set. They're good for a Halloween film fest.
  7. There was a series of "Blind Dead" movies in the 70's about these Knights coming back for revenge.
  8. My wife has read his "Healing Made Plain" book and said it's very good. Interestingly,The intro page is about the sin of plaigarism. She said his tape set on the subject is a mess, that he rambles on about stuff that has nothing to do with the subject and she thought that maybe it was recorded when he was older and not as sharp as he used to be.
  9. Allan, my wife has checked out CFF's stuff and gotten blessed by it. She called them up once and had a very nice conversation with Wayne.
  10. Garth, just interested in who's stuff I can read and learn from. I haven't given up on God when it comes to healing. I guess it's good my wife and I left in '89 when she was expecting our daughter. We would have been thrown out of TWI for being "spiritually weak" since she didn't have it together enough to be healed.
  11. George, my wife and daughter are both legally blind because of a condition that runs in her family. We're very interested in the area of healing because modern medicine can't cure them. That's why I'm interested in anyone out there who has a genuine healing ministry. I know there are a lot of fakes out there but there's got to be someone who's the real deal.
  12. Who out there has a real healing ministry these days ? There must be somebody who's really walking with God in that area. Any recommendations ?

    New Horizons

Hey Lori, welcome aboard ! I was in TWI from 1975 - 1989. The great thing about this place is that you see other people went through a lot of the same crap and it establishes in your heart that it was the system in TWI that was the problem, not you.

    The 60s!

Hey Waysider, I haven't heard Blodwyn Pig mentioned in ages ! ( For the rest of you, they were started by Mick Abrahms, the original guitarist of Jethro Tull ) I've still got a vinyl copy of one of their albums.
  15. I'm not sure if you could call it fading or growing. I think that some groups have decided they no longer need Geer's classes.
  16. They released a two disc set with the both versions last week. You'll have to check it out.
  17. I once read here that as part of the deal Geer gets a percentage of the local group's ABS.
  18. Recently saw the original Japanese version of Godzilla. Since 40 minutes of the movie had been cut for the American version and Raymond Burr added in the U.S, it was like watching a different movie. It was more of a serious statement about nuclear warfare and less of a "popcorn movie". Many of the cast and crew had worked with the famous director Kurosawa and it showed. Has anyone else see it ?
  19. I think it would be interesting to come up with a list of splinter groups so we could have an overall picture.
  20. FYI, Joe Jr. recently decided to continue his dad's ministry. He's a great guy and it will be interesting to watch someone who wasn't a part of the TWI system.
  21. The Pacific Group and Great Lakes were offshoots that were mentioned in the late 80's. They were listed in an article that had appeared in "Christianity Today" in '89 and in Juedes' stuff. Whoever wrote the book probably used that information as a source. I don't know what they're called today or if they're even around anymore.
  22. Jardinero, if you're interested, here's Bob's web site: WWW.GCFNAPERVILLE.ORG
  23. Let's see, 1981 to 1984. In '79 my wife and I had stopped going to fellowships. At the end of '80 I found out there was a Way home a mile and a half down the road from us. In the beginning of '81 we started going back to fellowships. The feel of the area had started to change because we were starting to have Corp running things in the area and it seemed like they didn't know how to relate to us as normal people. But there were still some great people. I was going to a Twig run by Bob and Pat Koch ( I had taken PFAL with her ) and they had, and still have, a wonderful heart for God and His people. I later heard about Bob reaming the local Corp leadership for having the typical attitude that the rank and file were there to swerve him. My wife and I loved the Word but because of the previous experience that had made us quit we were never "sold out to the ministry." People would say " you should go WOW" and we'd say "Thanks, but no thanks." We felt that we were taking things on our own terms and not TWI's.
  24. 1977 to 1980 was a weird time for me. I got into the Word in my hometown of Levittown, Long Island. A friend of the family who posts here as "Ayla" got me to start going to fellowships and in April of 1977 I finally took the PFAL class. Long Island was a cool place. We were young and loved God and enjoyed life and being together. In June of '77 I got married to a believer from Larchmont. My sister had suggested that northeast Pennsylvania had a lower cost of living (since we were just starting out) so from June of '77 to June of '79 we lived in Scranton. The first summer we met some WOW's in town and hung out with them and it seemed the area had a large believer population. At one meeting we were told there would be a meeting of the people who would be there after the Rock. We went and there were about six people there. Everybody else either left town or just stopped going. My wife and I had some serious culture clashes with the people there because the fellowships became cold and religious. We would go back to Long Island for a visit and you would walk into a Twig there and just feel the love. Then we'd go back to Scranton and wonder what the hell was wrong. But from what I read here it sounds like that's how a lot of fellowships were. We had a confrontation with our branch leader and when Franklin Smith, who was in charge of Pennsylvania at the time, came in to settle the matter he totally sided with the branch leader. After awhile we spoke to our Twig leader and said "look, we're not getting blessed so we quit". A month later we moved back to Long Island. We went to a couple of fellowships but were so burned by the Scranton experience that we didn't start going again untill 1981.
  25. Have a great birthday, Raf. This place wouldn't be nearly as good without you !
