Was that a test to see if we were "spiritual enough" to handle it ?

Bolshevik, Leonard's book on healing has a preface warning against plagiarism.

Gee Cindy, those were just meant to words of advice. I don't know I was going to stop the thread dead in its' tracks !

Best wishes to Jess and her fiance. As someone who got married young I know it can work. Be there to support her but let know that the marriage depends on her and her hubby making it work.

Hey Ex, did you mean as in "between the" ? Otherwise you'll find the negative ones in the "Inbreeding" thread. I started this as an alternative to that thread.
-
Socks, that was beautiful. I'm sure you two will have a wonderful anniversary together and may you have many more.

Glad you responded. Welcome aboard!

After reading the "Inbreeding" thread I though I'd start this side thread. I'm curious to hear about those that met and married in TWI and are still together. My wife and I met at a NJ limb meeting in Jan. of '76 and kept bumping into each other after the meeting. One thing led to another and in June of '77 we got married. We were both very young. She was just shy of 19 and I had turned 20. We had that youthful enthusiasm that God would provide and He did. I think one thing that helped was that we were both basically loners so peer pressure didn't get to us and we were both rebellious against any attempts at control. The fact that we were both New Yorkers may have helped too! Being so young we had a lot of growing up to do and at times things were rough. I think having the attitude that "divorce is wrong" kept us together. I am one of seven kids in my family and the only one on his original marriage. My siblings are all on their second and third marriages. At times I think we stuck together to prove it could be done. We've had good times and bad but we're now happily together. I think the loudest I ever heard God's voice was when He once said to me "You are NOT getting a divorce"! I recognize that at times divorce is necessary but I'm curious to hear from those that made it work and are happy together. My wife and I are in our church chorus and she had to stay home one time last month because of a knee injury. I kept looking over to where she usually stood and it felt so odd her not being there. I realized how much I like having her around and how I'd miss her if she wasn't. This June is our 30th anniversary. So are there any other couples who met in TWI and are still together? My wife and I were part of the mass exodus in '89 that missed the worst of the Martindale years and I wonder if his policies were more responsible for broken marriages than VPW's.

Have a great Birthday ! You certainly brighten this place up !

Sorry for the delay in my reply Rottie. You may know her. She's tall and thin and a computer nerd. Theresa's family is doing OK. They're getting used to her not being around but realizing what a big part of their life she was. They know we're all here for them if they need us. I have mixed feelings about the memorial. The truth is that walking with God was a huge part of who Theresa was and she was one of those people who really walked in love. The thing was that a lot of the tributes focused on how much she loved God and His Word. In a way that turned the focus onto the Word and not Theresa. It sort of reminded me about some of the comments on Dr. Rawlins' obit. The things that were said about Theresa could be said about a lot of the women in that room. I was blessed by a friend of hers who shared more personal stories about Theresa that showed who she was as an individual, and some stories shared by her sons. On the one hand, if you knew Theresa you knew she loved God and His Word and it played a huge part in who she was so you would have to talk about that part. But if that was all you talked about it sold her short as an individual. So I am glad there were comments that gave a fuller picture of who she was. I still miss her and wish she was still here.

While I was at the memorial service for Theresa Anderson I saw my friend who posts here as Godsgirl2. She asked me to say "Hi" to everyone. She's doing fine but things are so busy for her right now she doesn't have time to post.

Happy Birthday Dot. I hope you're having a great day !

On Feb. 27, 1976 I asked my future wife to be my girlfriend. We were married a year and a half later and are still together.

Johnny, the place won't be the same without you. I don't post nearly as much as I did years ago but I still put my two cents in now and then. The door is always open and you'll always be welcome at the Greasespot.

I had to go in to work today to help out so the project would get finished in time for everyone to get home to watch the game. That was a waste of time. We waited 20 years for this ? What the heck was wrong with the Bears QB ? The Bears got off to a great start then fell apart. I am so disappointed !

All that great equipment and nothing worth recording. The only thing I think most of us would be interested in is digitally remixed versions of the old albums from the 70's and early 80's. -
Wendy, I live in the suburbs of Chicago and am involved with one offshoot and know some of the others. If you e-mail me I can probably talk to you about the people she's involved with as I may know them personally.

The Chicago Bears are winning at the half. We may have to dust off our old copies of "Super Bowl Shuffle."

We still had power. BTW, welcome to the Cafe !

The video was shot on an 8mm video and transferred by my son to my computer. FYI, our part of St. Charles didn't lose power. What was the news story about ?
-
Never did and always thought it was a little too risky. ( FYI, I'm 49 ) Do kids still do it some places and what do they call it ? My 17 year old daughter said kids don't do that. We're in the Chicago suburbs.

I have a video of my band performing ( stored on my computer ) and want to know how I can make an audio recording from it so I can burn the songs onto a CD. Any suggestions ?

She's looking at the criminal case and has to decide from the evidence whether he was guilty or not.

In my 17 year old daughter's class they are doing reports on famous trials. My daughter suggested the OJ trial and that became her topic. Can anyone recommend a good book on the case ?
