Swish, swish. I swish for fish with my wish dish. FINALLY getting the garden in at the new niKapad today; 850 square feet. Mr. niKa says that it's a farm. I say that it's a garden on steroids. I hear him pulling up in a truck with the first load of compost; gotta get off the computer and get the shovel.

Tommy, thanks for asking; there's no basement in the new niKapad; I've got to scope out arrangements in case of "the big one"; thanks for the reminder. Fellowshipper is probably still wearing mouse ears and waiting in line at the Indiana Jones ride . . .. Some kids have all the fun! -->

Here we are in cloudy, rainy Oklahoma at niKa's house with the kids, doing homework and cleaning house, wishing that we were where you are, with you! But, you know, "Where ever you go, there you are."

Looks like Fellowsitter's gonna have his needs and his wants parallel! (Or, at least his feet and his head.)

Oh, yes. So did I. And the sweet person who sent the check had never even met me. It took one phone call. I have prayed for him, whenever I think of him, for years; he's likely passed on now. I met him a few years later. He had a child in another Corps. You know, a whole lot of the folks who were on the edges of the ministry were just sweet-hearted people who loved God, and wanted the kids to be able to experience growth. He was like that, and I'll never forget him.

Okay, what was the best care package that you ever got while in residence? Rob Campanella used to get amazing Italian cookies. I used to get toothpaste! :P-->

Ah, well-socialized children! You must have brought them up with people skills, Fellowshipper. Now, about Tom's cigarettes . . . you know that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. It's the Word. You keeds make me cry.

By now, those Easter Eggs are rose petals in heaven! A bunny with webbed feet! Next, you'll be telling us that the bunny was Fahr Engine Red!

Happy Easter, everybody! I took the leetle ones to church, but you guys are the Spurchal Family, to me. love, niKa

Ahhhhh. I was in Texas just today; it's still there, and still the best place on Earth. Sunshine, a decent glass of iced tea, or maybe a red draw; what more could one ask?

Dang. I'm so confused, I don't know which side of this circle I'm on . . .. ;)-->

What th' Kielbasa is goin' on here? Is that a two count, or a three count? --> OOOOOOOOOOHH! NEW FACES!!!! :o--> Thanks, PAWTUCKET!!!!! Now, that's Corps.

Only scored 65%; rather dissapointing since my geneaology's been done, and I have absolutely no Yankee ancestors anywhere in any line. Well, Massachussets Bay Colony, but back then, there wasn't a North or South, there was just a "Here." (As opposed to England, I suppose.) Must be all that time I spent in places like Ohio and Illinois, in TWI. Cute survey; thanks.

You may want to check out the Portfolio Diet. It's no surprise that the Almond Board of California is promoting it, since almonds play a role in it. It's an addition of several foods which have been individually shown to help lower cholesterol naturally. Soy is one of them, and you should know that some folks also caution that soy has so many natural estrogen-type things in it that they worry that it could be feminizing to men. That said, there are other things in the Portfolio Diet which may be of benefit to you. Granted, I am a woman, but I found a dramatic decrease (20% or so) in one month of being smart about my food, and also adding the things on the Portfolio Diet list. Good luck with this. niKa http://www.portfolioeatingplan.com/p_intro.php

Hooooo, BOY! Mr. niKa was just wondering out loud today, about who might be available to help him run a sod-cutter and put in a 50 by 30 garden. Fellowcompostsifter, did you happen to bring any sunscreen with you??? Seriously, if all you can do is sit with us at night and reflect on the day, that's okay, too. I know that the AF will have plenty for you to keep busy.

MJ, your comment about "zero control" is undeserved. Plenty of good folks have been divorced, and John holds himself to a much higher standard of behavior than you seem to think. Makes me wonder how well you really know this person you're so willing to trash online. The main thing that I understand about John Lynn is that when most of us dropped out of the ministry, got mad at God, and went on with our own, private lives, he kept trying to do the Ministry thing, kept trying to serve God's people as best he understood how. If you kept doing that, too; kept teaching livingrooms full of people, even when their hearts were hurt and bitter, even when they were still mad at God; if you kept doing your best to publicly walk the walk and talk the talk, THEN you may appropriately trash John Lynn. Me? I live in a glass house. Throwing bricks would only make me look stupid. Respectfully, niKa

Must be turning it upside down, because I doubt that it was kiddywompus to begin with . . ..

These days, I'm more like "closet" Corps! No, that's probably not true. I think that I have more guts now than I ever did in TWI. I don't take bunk from anyone, for one thing. Maybe it's being older; maybe it's being a Mom; maybe it's not caring as much whether other people approve. Whatever it is, it feels much more comfortable than the WeenieSuit I wore in the Way. That's a technical term, for those of you who are new in the Word. Happy Spring Break, by the way. This is niKa putting in a garden next week.

Armageddon Ready - Prudent, Proper & Painless Survival Precautions
notinKansasanymore replied to satori001's topic in Open
Wo-o-ow. It may be prudent and proper, but if some of the sniping on this thread is any indication, it's not quite painless. I think it's just sensible to make arrangements for my family to be provided for, in case supplies are disrupted for a few days. Thanks, again, Satori, for the reminder. I'm more ready today than I was yesterday, because you started the thread. Going fishing . . . now there's a good idea. -
Armageddon Ready - Prudent, Proper & Painless Survival Precautions

Satori, thanks for the reminder. I'll think more about preparation for possible events. -
OH, it is Saturday morning. I am filled with concerns for the things as they are the things of this world. There is laundry to fold, there are papers to grade, there are children to play with in the back yard. Later on, there will be sunshine to sit in, birds to watch, and thoughts to think. But my thoughts are with MAH PEEPLE, and I'm sending a big hello your way! Sometimes, I wonder how any of us are still sane. At other times, I wonder if we are. In a couple of weeks, we will put in the first garden at the new niKapad. Life saunters by. Happy Saturday morning, everybody.

Okay, I just read the other thread. I'm praying for more specific stuff now. Excie, I love you. niKa

Excathedra, whatever is is, I'm sending petitions upstairs on your behalf.
