Right. I get it. Lo shonta! What's unique about this particular canon topic is the assumption (postulate) that the canon identifies itself as the canon. Still waiting for the evidence of a list of authoritative books listed within the authoritative books identified as authoritative by their own authority.

Respectfully, OS, it sounds like you are addressing text types, transmission vectors and translations. These are different issues from canon. HOWEVER, the Alexandrian vs. Byzantine text type would make for a fascinating topic.

Where in 2 Timothy does it list the orthodox books? Where does it say, for example, The Apocalypse of John of Patmos is right but The Apocalypse of Peter is wrong?

Pistis Christou can be either an objective genitive (Faith in Christ) or a subjective genitive (Faith of Christ). I presume the decision is theological. I don't have a position on this, but I know it's debated among theologians. I remember being taught with great force, anger, and frustration by my TWI teacher that faith is something we have and believing is something we do, but I don't remember how pistis Christou was handled. And then there's believing faith. MOREOVER, believing is part of the equation that defines the word of God. It seemed like pistis could mean whatever whenever, according to the size of the glove and the amount of snow. Though there are other verses, these two seem especially important: Galatians 2:15-16 and Romans 3:21-26. Three questions: How do you handle the objective/subjective genitive? Asset or Liability? Lo Shonta?

It's not a re-analysis. It's merely a straightforward analysis. Bullinger's creativity requires lots of assumptions (postulates) and glove-fitting. An honest reading doesn't require a lot of assumptions to MAKE anything fit. This will be handled in another thread.

Bingo. There's a difference between what we like and what we know to be great. The aficionado or connoisseur is aware of that distinction. I may not care for hip hop, it just may not be my thing, but I can recognize and appreciate the greatness of Dr. Dre, TuPac, JayZ. Don't get me started on coffee. Or do. Starbucks is over roasted. It's burnt. I happen to not like it AND recognize that it's not good. But I know that not liking it has nothing to do with my judgement that it's not good. In the Pacific Northwest, that's just how they like their coffee, and I can recognize that, too. The movie is Bottle Rocket, but I doubt that will help you with the song, unless you've watched it many times.

Ahhh. But were those the GREATEST? Of course, my assertion is bull$hit because it's subjective. Though, I do think the 90's were as important as the 70's for American cinema, but that's a discussion I'd be happy to have on another thread, Neophyte filmmakers is your clue. Their first film. Before they were star actors/writers/directors. Indie film. Cult classic now. James Caan would have been the only recognizable star at the release of the film, 1996. The song is from a certain invasion in the 1960s.
