    BULLSHONTA. This is STUPID. It's a logical impossibility. How can that which God hates be done in his Love? It's like saying any bird that can fly can fly under water. WTAF? ANYTHING can't be done in the Love of God; the only things done in the Love of God are the thing's of God, of Love, of Truth. That which God hates can't be done in the Love of God. These gloves don't fit those hands. There is no space in the Love of God for rape. The Love of God cannot comprehend this action. It is not of God. It cannot be done in Love. There is no room for the rapist to operate if he is operating in God's Love. It's impossible. Devil seeded bagels are not made in God's bakery.

    Was this really taught? I'm not doubting you, WW, but the error here is so deep that it's traumatic for me. I've really struggled to reply to this for thirteen hours. I'm not joking about the trauma. My hands are shaking - this is so, SO STUPID! This can't be explained away. No apologetic can fix the abject error of such a claim. I never took the IC, but if I heard this... I don't know what I'd do... but I know I would do whatever it took to stand between the devil's defecating rectum and the mouth of God, because that is exactly what this is - contempt of God, Truth. What happened among the robots in the room watching this? Did anyone stand up and call BULLSHONTA! Did anyone question the obvious error and stupidity? Did anyone stand for truth and walk out at this moment? WTAF is going on???

    Thanks, T-Bone. Both of those translations treat pistis Christou as an objective genitive - faith IN Christ. The subjective genitive would be faith OF Christ or Christ's faith. The difference is HUGE. Read it both ways. Notice the difference. Change faith to believing and it's different still. Believing IN Christ or Christ's believing. I wonder if the "measure of faith" one has colors the context somehow. Would the measure of faith one possesses inform these passages to be read with the subjective genitive - faith OF Christ? victor talked much about how accurate and precise Greek is. Ehh, yeah, kinda... this verbal genitive is not the only ambiguous construction in Greek. Yes, context is key, but we're talking Pauline theology - not always a crystalline clear alpine stream.

    Except I didn't. You changed your line from ASSEMBLY to ATTITUDES. That's fine and predictable. victor moved the goal post all the time, too. Attitudes and activities. Fine. So what? This has nothing to do with how (H-O-W) or that (T-H-A-T) a canon was formed over the subsequent centuries. We have letters from early church fathers and council meeting minutes as evidence showing the gradual formation of the canon. I'm sure their attitude was the same as the evangelists or any group concerned with assembling an authoritative list of books - a canon.

    Well, that's what a canon is. What do you think this topic is about? You said the evangelists assembled the canon. I knew you were being willfully ignorant of what canon means. That's why I provided the definition, repeatedly. How do you see that? With your binoculars? I never had problems with fluency. In fact, I'm trilingual in SIT. You probably didn't even know that was available. But, hey, you can't go beyond what you were taught. I think if victor had believed big enough to live long enough, Father would have lead him to me with a trail of cookies, and I would have taught him how (H-O-W) to SIT fluently.
