Right. I'm aware of ethical standards and practices in journalism. I didn't mean to suggest a breach of those. I'm just venting, I suppose. Are those the only two journalistic standards for calling a cult a cult: self-identification (never happens) or identification by a court? Curious. Everyone's ears have become so brittle in recent years. Cancel culture, wokeness, etc. The eggshell's seem to be scattered everywhere. It's "sexual assault" instead of rape or "sodomitic session" instead of child rape. This linguistic dishonesty isn't helpful. It seems ani-accountability. That's really my only point. I don't mean to suggest the shrugging off of ethical standards.

BELEEF is fundamental to all conspiracy theories and all cults. Truth can be known. It can be found out. Truth is not discovered by believing.
-
These euphemisms are part of the problem. No one wants to call a spade a spade or a cult a cult. Reminds me of Oldies disturbing use of sodomitic session as a sugar-coated, apologetic euphemism for child rape yesterday in the NT Canon thread. How can someone offering up a theological defense for child focking be permitted here, but a discussion of ideological cults is forbidden?

An EX stand up comic.

Of course! Lo Shonta is not a girl's name, FYI.
-
Who taught that first guy 100,000 years ago how to cook?
-
That article is so much easier to understand than anything Mike writes, but not nearly as funny.
-
That Lo Shonta was competing for space with the pennies. He had to make some room.

Victor's only goal in regurgitating "you can't go beyond what you've been taught" is indoctrination by manipulation. The subtle implication is what you've been taught is wrong, but it's not your fault, because "you can't go beyond what you've been taught." But never fear, vic is here! He's gonna teach ya the word as it hasn't been known since the 1st century (and the 19th) rightly divided. First, you've got to "unlearn what you've learned." Next, renew your mind (turn off your mind), and git ready to absorb by BELEEVING what the teacher teaches. THAT'S the only way to go beyond the error you've been taught.

God"s the one having the difficulty. Got it. The human is not having difficulty hearing God. Rather, it's God's deficiency in communicating. Got it. Thanks.

"No man can REALLY say Jesus is Lord but by holy spirit." But no man can git holy spirit until he says Jesus is Lord. Gosh, this seems like some kind of paradoxical circle! Kind of a chicken and egg thing.

Thank you, Rocky. I wasn't raised in a fundamentalist-evangelical-Christian-jihadist-militant home. Though my mother definitely identifies as Christian, she would likely be labeled by many here as a liberal Christian. The opinions, assumptions and asserted claims of PFAL are ideological novelties to me. So much bullshonta sometimes, my head spins.
-
Serious question for anyone: How do you "git" holy spirit according to vic? I honestly can't remember. (I did remember the lowercase!) Isn't it the confession of J.C. as Lord and the resurrection, etc? I don't need a dissertation. Just a simple equation.
-
Oooooohhhh. Okay. And how do the get spirit? Confessing Jesus is Lord and believing God raised him from the dead?

Except on that bright, sunshiny day when he spoke audibly to ol' victor. He spoke so that victor could hear him with crystal clarity through vic's old man, natural, five senses ears. Via physical mechanisms by the laws of physical mechanics. Out loud. Audibly. "Just like I'm speaking to you now."

PFLAP was the last time I took a class by someone not apt to teach. In Elizabethan English, apt means skilled. A skilled teacher doesn't deflect questions. A skilled teacher takes the time to organize his thoughts so meaning is clearly conveyed. Above all, a skilled teacher is a skilled student, always willing to learn, willing to let go of rotten ideas, willing to embrace the unknown, willing to admit he is wrong so that he might pursue truth.

Let me be the first to say it: LOL

Craig Has His Own Offshoot Going On

Ok, OZ it is, then - I'll drink some Grange with you. I was an importer/distributor for many years, many years ago. I drank a glass of Champagne at lunch almost everyday. I appreciated that it paired with virtually every food and I could return to work sober. And the most effectual cure for a hangover is ice cold Champagne. -

Something from southern Rhône? A Chateauneuf du Pape? Or maybe a Bandol? Champagne for breakfast, at least. -
I forgot about this one! You are correctomundo.
