Almost everything you say is dead wrong. I can say that because I can compare the things you say about me with what I know about me. On the other hand you have no idea who or what I am, so you can't. If I were to share your post with people who do know me, believe me, it'd be LOL to the max. That would indicate that I do in fact lay some of the blame at their feet. But there is more to it. I told someone here that when I worked on staff I saw a lot of vp cult worship. People putting VP above the word. More blessed to be near VP than the word. I used to talk about it 40 years ago. No good could have come from that and it obviously didn't. When you get right down to it, our fight is not with VP, twi, gsc, or any other organization. Our fight is a spiritual one. The devil is our enemy, not VP, me, you, Bullinger, or any other man. I'm sure it suits the devil just fine that we fight each other instead of him.

You are misrepresenting the content of my website. That page was one of many. Anyway, that website is for my private research when on the road. Obviously, others can read it, but it's really just a way for me to organize my own material. Maybe I'll put a password on it so as not to confuse people. Orange book? What do mean by that. Something had to be first. By that logic, the stuff on vp is second from the bottom in the tools menu, so that must mean I hold him is pretty low esteem. And the main menu has KJV on the top of the list. What does that say to you? Shouldn't mean a damn thing. Just random lists, so don't take it as some barometer of my thinking. You almost sound like you think everything VP as written, every word, is not true. That's pretty one dimensional. I can read what he says and decide for myself if I want to believe it. Some I do, some I don't, and some I still don't know. I could say the exact same thing about Bullinger, Stiles, Leanord, etc. Some of what they say I find to be true, some not, and some I don't know. You can say the same thing about my stuff. Some true, some not. If you know someone whose every word 100% lines up with the Bible, please, please clue me in. I'd jump on it. But I don't think there is, so I'll just do the best I can and wait for the return at which time we'll all figure it out for sure!

I gave you a very abbreviated version of how I study the Bible. Suffice it to say I don't ruthlessly apply anything to the materials VP taught. Some of the things VP taught I found to be true. Most of it actually, but, some not. Need and want was strange to me also. I've never taught it because I don't see it for myself. Some things he wrote I'm not sure on. In any case, I don't spend all my time reading his stuff. I also like Bulnger, Stiles, Darby, Leanard, and others. I've found that like VP's stuff, some of their stuff is right, some wrong, and some I don't know for sure. The same goes with me, some of my stuff is right, and some wrong. Who has it ALL right? God is the only one I know of. We'll get the real deal when it's all over, when Christ returns and we see ourselves as God sees us now, holy and without blame. Until then, I'm afraid nobody will get it 100% correct. I don't worry about it, I just study to the best of my ability and I'm always glad to share what I know. If you go to the doctrine section at gsc you can find 3 threads I started. I think you will find they all exhibit independent thinking on my part. You can argue they are full of BS, but that's another story. Someone told me that in the book, "Living in Love" VP was quoted as saying something to the effect that he didn't figure out all his stuff on his own. He said he just collated the things many others had said (Bullinger, Stiles, etc). Said he saved his students the trouble of having to do that. I haven't read that myself, but if true, it's pretty interesting. But it could be wrong. I don't have that book so maybe somebody else could check that out. I'd be curious if it's true or not. And let's face facts: throughout history there has been sooooooo much stuff written about the Bible, it is almost impossible to write something that wasn't written before. Take care...

For the most part I do what's in PFAL, which VP learned from E. W. Bullinger (at least that's where VP said he learned it). I still find that in the verse, context, used before, oriental isms, and a few other odds and ends works pretty well. Covers most things for me. I've learned Greek so I use that some also.

Good on Isaiah. I understand we can certainly learn from the OT. However, if we energized the love of God that dwells in us, we would go way beyond Isaiah. Isaiah, the law, was a schoolmaster. God said that not me. It doesn't degrade the law in any way whatsoever. It served it's purpose. But now we can walk in the love of God. To the degree someone walks in love their life will reflect the law, but it's the love that makes it possible. That love was not available until Jesus dies and rose from the dead. Isaiah didn't have it. But we do. I know the more we love God and study his word the more love we will naturally manifest and it will line up with the OT, but it's the love that makes it possible. We don't even have to judge ourselves. God did and found us worthy. As righteous as he is himself. I might be getting off on a tangent here...

God has given us the healthiest dose of love we're ever going to get. Another wonderful part of the new birth. God in Christ (2 Cor 5:19) and Christ is in you (Col 1:27). I think it says somewhere that God is love. He IS love and he's in you. We have all we're ever going to get. What we need to do is learn all about the ramifications of God in Christ in you. All of that is in the Bible. If someone where so inclined to read the Bible and study it, they will learn about God's love. The more you learn the more you act. Learn about love, you begin to love. I understand your sentiment, but maybe you meant we could exhibit a health dose of that love of God that dwells within to our brothers and sisters. P.S. To all: please feel free to opt out of any of the "we"s in this post. It's just a writing style. The "we" doesn't have to include every single individual who reads this.

I am terribly sorry if I've misread or misunderstood you in any way. In general, the web is not the best place to really convey one's thoughts and feelings to another. Gotta take that into account. At least I do. I was mistaken about the bristle stuff. Good. But I think there are some who do hate the Bible because of VP. True? I really haven't figured it out yet. If I'm wrong, please tell me. I'll feel like an idiot for a second or two and then go on with a new perspective. Always liked new perspectives. I think they do a person good. Some people don't think that though. I honestly forget the details on the context thing, but as I recall if the parts where I explicitly said I'm no better than anybody else, and giving a fairly detailed explanation of why I thought that had been included, the last paragraph would have been a different read. Now if I remember correctly, by not including more of my post in the quote, it implied I was holier than every body else. At least that was the exact conclusion you came to. Had you included the whole thing, it would be clear your conclusion was incorrect. That's the difference there. Do you think I might be doing those things in Isaiah? I hope not. I think I'm OK with God. If I had been a Jew at the time of Isaiah, then I'd be afraid of that verse. Thank God I've been judged and found as righteous as him. Well, God did magnify his word above all his name (Psalm 138:2). I'll say that much for sure. I think I have God and his word in the right compartments. I wasn't trying to add anything of substance to any one individual, including you. I just put it out there. You know what I've found in life? Some will believe it and some won't. I don't even bother keeping score. I just know some will be yes and some no. But what I know most about the matter is: Isa 55:11, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. I don't feel any anxiety about knowing the results of my holding forth the word (I'll bet that's a major wayspeak violation). I just hold it forth (dang, there I go again. Sorry). Pretend I said it in a way that is comfortable for you. Anyway, you get the idea. I speak and if it is aligned with the stuff in the Bible, it will accomplish it's purpose. I suppose there is the question of what is in alignment. Whose alignment is right? How do you get to that alignment? Well, the same way everybody here reading this post understands what I'm saying. Perhaps they will miss nuances, but certainly they will get the gist. Most of the Bible is pretty simple. Easy sentences just like the ones I'm typing here. That would be my answer to that question. I guess it's come up and I've failed to answer it, but that's it.

Yes. I do tend to prefer people with whom I can discuss Bible doctrine as opposed to those who discuss VP. Everything in life is like that. Some for and some against. Most people tend to hang with those with whom share a mutual interest, as well as show mutual respect. So what is the significance in bringing up the whole "starting you're like side-group" (is that official gsc speak?). It seems pretty natural to me. What's the problem? Study, don't study. I don't care what you do.
