FO, I agree that she is a brave young lady, but it angers me that she was given away by her parents. I think she may have a lot of psychological problems for the rest of her life, because of what VB put her through. I am not an attorney; but I hope her parents do time, for what they allowed to happen to her, and her sisters. Perhaps that is unchristian of me to say that, but I think Lindsey(?) is/was the innocent one in the matter; she was a minor, and didn't have a choice in what happened to her. IMO, her parents are as guilty in the whole affair, as VB.

Are there any books concerning TWI's deep dark secrets?

WG, interesting post. I don't think anyone would want to publish any of my posts; they are probably of little interest to most people. -

D, I am so sorry that you had S--t happen to you in TWI. I know that many of the people in TWI, were used, and exploited, and then left to fend for themselves. I pray these people get help, and are able to function in life. -
Ralph, I think if anyone knew, it would be you.

Beer?? Hell, no! I want food!!!
-
Or Queen!
-
Rocky, well-said. I am only responsible for my behavior; you are responsible for your's.
-
Way, so do I!! I think many of us here at the GSC regret that we were ever associated with TWI.
-
DWBH, neither would I!! I wonder how they can look into a mirror, knowing how much pain, and misery they have caused.
-
For sure Sky. VPW would have been exposed, and perhaps gone to prison. He probably would have been joined by some of the other big guns of TWI.
-
Who knows why they left; but I suspect they saw a lot of unsavory aspects of TWI, and did not want to deal with them any longer.

Tzaia, I went WOW, and had a horrible year; I am surprised that I lasted the entire year on the field. TWI gave us zero support, and it was hard to keep a job with all their rules, and regulations. Many of us went hungry, and TWI never cared about it. If I had been smart, I would never have allowed myself to be pressured into going WOW. I lost a lot of weight that year, because I didn't have enough money to buy food. Some people may have had a good WOW year, but most of us didn't.

Sky, so many of us were young, and gullible. I know I was for years, and years. If the Internet had been around in the late 1970's, and early 1980's, I probably would have known more about the evilness, and corruption that existed in TWI, and would have left much sooner than I did.
-
Groucho, for me the GSC, has opened my eyes to the dark side of TWI. I had no idea of all the evilness, and corruption that TWI did in the guise of "moving The Word." I left TWI back in 1988, and had no idea, how sick, and twisted it became after I left. If I had known about the sexual abuse, and child abuse, that went on through out TWI, I would have left much sooner, and taken my ABS with me.

OS, he might have been their father in the Word, but VBW was never my father in the Word. God was/ is my father in or out of the Word.
-
Rejoice, it makes me want to barf.

Sky, another interesting post. I thought VPW idolatry was a lot of bullsheet, 30 years ago when I was still with TWI. I can't understand why so many of the splinter groups still think he was the "real deal", when over time it has been proven that he was a maggot on the soul of humanity.

Ex, in other words; they were normal people.

Sky, all of us all sinners, no doubt about that. I try with all of my heart to follow the Golden Rule, every day, and I still make mistakes. But when I hurt others, I try to own up to my mistakes; I am responsible for my behavior. However, I believe that VBW, hurt countless others, but he didn't care if they were hurt, or not. From what I understand about the man, he took what he wanted, when he wanted it, and didn't care about the consequences. In the real world, there are consequences for our behavior especially if it infringes on the rights of others. VPW knew his behavior was wrong, but he didn't care; if he sinned, he sinned. I believe that God holds us accountable for our actions; some day we will have to answer for our behavior. I want God to be proud of me; that is why I try to follow the Golden Rule, every day.
-
OS, you are so right!! Many of them will be F--ked up for the rest of their lives; but VBW got them born again. That POS!
-
Way, bingo!! So many people were hurt for so many years in TWI; I wonder how many of them will ever recover from their association with it.

OB, you nailed it!!!
