CD, I am so happy that you got out of TWI! Even back in the 1980's, TWI tried to control people's lives; I was a free spirit, so I didn't always get along with leadership; I wanted to live my life my way, not TWI's way. I guess I wasn't "sold out" enough for some of the leadership.

Sky, how sad to read about the evilness of VPW. He talked a lot about God, but in private, he lived like the Devil. I feel for those women he assaulted; I wonder how many of them recovered, and were able to move on with their lives. Many of us were broken, and thought we would be healed by the love of God; however, in some cases, this same love of God was used against us.

Sheldon, they suck. 40 years ago, John used to be funny, and he was a great leader for NY. I have no idea why he changed; now he is boring, and wants money for his newest organization. Nuts!

GP, I would love to hear LCM apologize for all the pain he caused; but I don't expect to him to do so. I don't think he will ever "man up," and admit that he created a lot of strife, and heartache in TWI.

DJ, or perhaps they will be understood. I think many of the people here at The Spot, are quite intelligent, and can see through a lot of bullsheet.

Raf, you are so right!! DWBH is always interesting to read; JAL used to be a great Limb Leader in NY decades ago. How two intelligent men can see things so differently, is indeed fascinating.

Way, the pieces are starting to fit, at least for me. I wish the GSC had been around 40 years ago; perhaps I wouldn't have wasted 10 years of my life in TWI.

MRAP, I usually try to stay out of arguments, because I find them to be non-productive. However, I would like to respond to a few of your points. I am fairly new here; I have been posting for around seven months. Also, I think many of us are moving on with our lives; I know I am. My life today is pretty good; I am a Disabled Navy Veteran, and I live in DC. I had some great experiences in TWI, but I also had some terrible ones. I love coming to the GSC, because it makes me think. It helps me put my time in TWI in prospective(SP?). Some of the people here at the GSC, had great times in TWI, and miss it. Some of us had good, and bad experiences with TWI, and have learned to put them aside, as we move through life. Some however, were used, abused, and exploited by VPW, and other leaders. I have read on various threads, how some of the women were raped by various "Men of God." These women did not deserve this; the men took what they wanted, and left the women to fend for themselves. I cried when I read this; how could this happen to women who wanted to serve God?? As I continued to read various threads, I read about the serious problems some people had with LEAD. Again, it made me cry; how could people who simply wanted to serve God be treated like this?? MRAP, in my view, the GSC is open to anyone who wants information about TWI. Some of the information is positive; some of it isn't. In my opinion, TWI is dangerous, an deceptive because they say one thing, and do something different. God forbid you get sick; they will kick your azz to the curb, no matter how long you worked there. The GSC warns people of the possible dangers of getting involved with any cult; it is easier to get in, than it is too get out. I wish peace, and blessings to everyone involved with the GSC.

Steve, I love reading your posts; they always well-written, and make me think. Steve, you pointed out something in your post, that I have never understood. Why do some people relie on "quack medicine?" If Lynn has medical problems, why doesn't he get sound medical advice? I have medical problems, and I get great medical advice, at my local VA Hospital. God expects us to use our brains; when I need a doctor, I go to one. I have never understood why some people go to quacks for medical advice. I know when I was in TWI, VPW had serious medical problems, but he didn't always deal with them. Or is that a question for a Medical Professional?

BA, great post!! I too am glad that I left. I do wonder though, what will happen to the parents?
