  1. Chock, at least you learned. Some people in TWI, never learn, or don't care. I think a lot of us feel we wasted years of our lives in TWI, and perhaps we did.
  2. Chock, great post!! It is so good, that I can't add anything to it.
  3. OS, It's one thing to play soldier, but it is another thing altogether, to be one. I think VPW liked watching Soldiers at play, but he was to scared to have been a real one. Several of the men in my family are combat veterans, and they knew/know the realities of war. I am also a Veteran, but I never served in combat. VPW had many opportunities during WWII, to serve in the military; he choose not too. I know by 1941, he was married, and had a son. But many married men with kids served in WW11. I know he claimed that he didn't want to fight against Germany, so he choose not to serve. Perhaps that is true; I don't know. But, I wonder if he was afraid of being killed, or captured. I know I would have been; and I am a woman. I think in his heart, he was a coward.
  4. OS, some people in the military yell, and have temper tantrums. I've seen that. And then, there are people who ask their personal to do things without screaming at them. I hate being screamed at. If you need me to do something, just ask me to do it. I am an adult, and want to be treated like one.
  5. Sky, thank God living life without TWI, is so much fun, and simple!! I give my money to the causes that are dear to me; not the causes I don't care about.
  6. WW, life is so much more fun now, that I'm not selling anything to anyone. I can be myself, and simply enjoy where life takes me.
  7. JJ, it was if our entire lives were to be used to sell TWI; we had no life outside of it. Finally, I got sick of that garbage. Now, I talk to people about God, but I am not selling them anything.
  8. Twinky, do you sing in your church?? I don't sing, not me! I sound like Donald Duck.
  9. Maddy, aren't you the clever one!! What really angers me about TWI, is how much evil was done in the name of God. So many wonderful, kind, intelligent, people were used, and exploited, and then kicked out. TWI presented itself as a Godly Christian Organization. In reality, TWI wanted people's money, their cheap labor, and time. Many of the women were raped, and many of the kids were physically abused. If I had known how evil, VPW really was, I would never have gotten involved with TWI. But, as bad as TWI was, it did open my eyes to the beauty of God. I will always be grateful for that.
  10. Out, I would never have made it through the Corps; too much nitpicking. I love salad, but I know that many people don't. I think I would have told her to go F- herself. That probably would have gotten me kicked out. But eating too much salad; who was she?? The Food Police??
  11. T-Bone, I think these posts are so good, that I have nothing to add to them; they speak for themselves!
  12. Rocky, JL might have been in an episode of the newer version of the TWZ which came out in the 1980's(?). The original TWZ was great; Rod Serling knew how to scare the poop out of viewers, but at the same time, he made them think. I don't have a TV, and I have no idea about the shows on currently; but I love the old shows like Perry Mason, and Star Trek!
  13. Yes, especially Alfred Hitchcock!! TV used to be good; nowadays not so much.
  14. DWBH, a lot of those old TZ episodes scared the poop out of me; I miss that show!!
  15. Rocky, you are so right; I wish a lot of people here in DC, would STFU today!!
  16. Jay, bingo, bingo, bong!!!!! I would not to be associated in anyway with VPW, for the reasons you stated.
  17. Bol, Robs makes me glad I never got married; as much as I like men, there are so men who make me wonder why a woman would marry them.
  18. DWBH, summed it up quite well; he wanted people to buy into his JBI .
  19. DWBH, you knew what he wanted from the get-go. 100K a year for a pension, and that's not enough??!! How much does a man need to support himself for a year??!! I guess it depends on the man?!
