Anyone have first hand knowledge of SNS attendance?
Grace Valerie Claire replied to JustThinking's topic in About The Way
OS, how sad!! I used to love attending TWI functions at HQ! They were usually fun, and people laughed a lot!! The music by Way Productions was so good, that people didn't want to leave; I almost had to be dragged out of the main teaching. How sad to hear that the TWI teachings s--k. -
Kanas, yes!! I too am glad to be out of TWI. But, I did meet some really great people, and enjoyed some of my Twigs.

True, but he and Beth-sheba lost their child. I would not wish the death of a child on anyone. Why did Beth-sheba, and the son have to pay for David's misuse of the military??
-
Bol, true. But, what about people in military campaigns?? Are they bad when they kill people to protect their country?? Or, is killing people to protect your country, a form of murder?? I don't have an answer, but I was very concerned about this question when I was in the Navy. Thank God, I never had to shoot anyone, but the question is something I have wondered about for years.

Raf, great post!!! Bingo!!!
-
RAF, are Christians today more moral than God??!! Interesting question I think.
-
Bol, you have raised an interesting question. If TWI, wasn't for just any type of mind, what type of mind was it for?? I have often wondered why some were attracted to TWI, and others weren't.

Raf, yes!!! Yes, what the Bible says about JC really is complicated!! I personally think he was a great man of God, and the focal point of Human History. But, I like to keep things simple; other people have a right to their opinions about him.
-
Bol, aren't you the clever one!!

If he lived in Florida, or Texas, he might be put to death.

Twinky, good point!! I don't understand why they do it, but perhaps they like being treated like slaves!! -
Out, foo foo on that damn bunny!

Ham, one of the reasons I like living by myself, is because it's quiet, and calm. I grew up in a family where people screamed all the time, and I hated it. Nowadays, my home is calm, and peaceful.

29, some had a disconnect with reality?? I think most of TWI was built on unreality; for example, the law of believing was totally unrealistic. God forbid you had problems in your life. People would snap at you, where is your believing? I sometimes felt being in Way World was agin to living in Never, Neverland.

Rocky, I remember VPW telling everyone they needed to be sold out to God. I thought it was Bullsheet then, and I still think it's Bullsheet. I think he wanted "his kids" to work for TWI for free, for the rest of their lives. Didn't work then, and it won't work today. -
How Literature Helped My Father and I Survive Life in a Cult
Grace Valerie Claire replied to Rocky's topic in Open
T-Bone, I used to think I would be in the Way for the rest of my life, until I took the AC in the summer of 1985. Boring, boring, boring!! I quietly left a few years later, and I am glad I left. No more cults for me!! One was enough to last me, the rest of my life. -

T-Bone, can you imagine what our lives would be like today, if we had stayed?? My life today is wonderful, but I think of the people who stayed in Way World. I wonder how happy their lives really are. -
JJ, you are so right!!

Rejoice, how sad!! That could have been me, or any of us.

Linda Z, I love your posts! They are well-written, and they make me think. I can't imagine hitting retirement age with zilch; I am 60, and live on a modest Disability Check every month. In a few years, I plan on applying for SS. My medical needs are covered by the DCVAMC. Linda, I can't imagine what many of the long-term Way People, are going to do once they they retire. I started thinking about retirement in my 20's; that was one of the reasons I joined the Navy. I think many of them will be f-ed when they leave Way World.

Patriot, good post. Why do people stay in the Way?? I think it might be fear. They might be afraid of having to deal with the "real world," and it's problems. Or perhaps some of them, want to be the head of TWI, with all that it entails. I really have no idea why people stay with TWI.
