  1. Penworks, thanks for that link. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.
  2. Longhunter, I know your thread is old, but I think it is great that you left TWI. I can not imagine growing up in Way World. I know a woman who grew up in it, and she was a B--ch. I don't think she was a B because she grew up in TWI, but her mother was a big shot in Way World. In TWI, Amy got what she wanted, when she wanted it. When she left the TWI bubble, and had to deal with real life, she quickly learned that she wasn't special, and real life was hard. We regular believers, were busy dealing with our lives, and didn't have time to treat Amy like a pampered princess. She eventually left the area, and got married. I don't think all TWI kids were like Amy, but some of the ones I knew, had problems dealing with the real world. I wish you well on your journey in life.
  3. SQ, I hope you leave TWI, as soon as possible. Life outside of TWI, can be wonderful. Shalom!
  4. Raf, thanks for asking the question, I would like to know.
  5. 72, hello. I am happy to hear that you are out. I don't know your mother, but perhaps she has "issues." I honestly feel for people in TWI; some stay in for various reasons, many of which I will never understand. Many of us here were in TWI for years; I was in from 1978-1988. I had some great times in it, but I also had some times I would rather forget. I love coming to the GSC, because there is much to be gained from reading the posts. Welcome, and I hope you find what you are looking for here.
  6. JJ, my life became much better once I left TWI. I became less judgemental, and more open-minded, among other things.
  7. Ham, interesting post. I think most of us, would never have gotten involved in TWI, if we had known how evil it was. Just my opinion.
  8. BA, people in the military, usually believe in some type of Supreme Being. "There are no unbelievers in foxholes."
  9. Way, I think these kids would be successful, if they left the field, and TWI.
  10. Ham, you couldn't pay me enough money to go back to high school! My life is much better now, than it was when I was in high school. Perhaps some miss their high school years; not me. Living with my family during those years, was hell.
  11. Way, I left Central New York State decades ago, and am very glad that I did. IMO, "home" is the place I love living, and for me, that place is DC. I think people should live where they can afford to live, and where they enjoy themselves.
  12. Mud, Military Personnel move quite frequently. Sometimes, it's great. Sometimes, it sucks. Uncle Sam can be fickle to work for.
  13. Sky, what an interesting story it has been! Thanks for discussing it here at the GSC. To me, it has been an eye-opener. You, your wfe, and sons have weathered some tough times in TWI, but seem to be good people in spite of all the garbage that TWI put you through. I would have left long before you did, but I think you tried to help as many people as you could, as long as you could. God will bless you for that, when the time comes.
  14. Thomas, I'm going to buy all 3 of them as X-mas presents to myself. I can't wait to read them.
