  1. Chock, I understand being held accountable for my actions. However, I also think that some times people lie, for a variety of reasons. If the men you mentioned are guilty, of sexual exploitation, they should be punished. However, perhaps not all the men mentioned are guilty. If I remember correctly, Senator Joe McCarthy, and other members of Congress, accused people of being Communists, back in the late 1940's, and early 1950' s. It was considered a Witch Hunt. Many people, lost their jobs, and had their lives ruined, because of unfounded rumors. I am not saying that the men accused are innocent, nor am I saying they are guilty. I am saying, that I don't know. I believe that all the men accused, should have their day in court.
  2. Rocky, whoa!! I think you may have answered, a question I have had for years. Why did I stay in TWI, when others left? Perhaps it was because I wanted to belong to something. Thanks for your post.
  3. Either way, I would still like a T-Shirt like that!!
  4. WW, I think when you were born, God gave you an abundance of brains, and great writing skills! Excellent post; thank you for posting!!
  5. Jay, I think there is a lot of intellectual information on this Web Site. For example, Sky and DWBH, both know a lot about the inner workings of TWI, because they witnessed it first-hand. I think their posts are well-written, and very thoughtful. But I guess what I consider "intellectual information," is different from others POV.
  6. Jeff, good for you!! I joined the Navy in 1985; what a trip!! Paul and his wife Rita, are wonderful Christians; kind, and truly loving. I know TWI had some terrible leaders like VPW, and LCM, but it also had some wonderful leaders like Paul Norcross. When I think about my time in TWI, I know I met some wonderful people, that I still keep in touch with. But Jeff, you are right; some of TWI'S leaders were not so good. .
  7. Yes Sky, I do would like to know about that public meeting. Imagine VPW telling them they are "off the word." I think that might have been a very interesting meeting!!
  8. Jeff, do you know Paul Norcross? He was the head of Military Outreach in TWI. He and his wife Rita were my first Twig Leaders 40 years ago in Va. Beach. They were wonderful people then, and they still are wonderful people. Thank you for your Service. What branch were you in? Marines?
  9. Shucks!! Thanks anyway Rocky. I'm sure someone will let us know.
  10. OS, I think many of us here at the GSC are thankful, we are out of TWI. However, I do have to admit that I will always be greatful to TWI for one thing; they turned me on to God.
  11. T-Bone, that is true!! But, I would like to know how much the class costs.
  12. Rocky, do you know how much the new AC class costs?
  13. Way, yes, it does depend on your perspective. But I think people who left TWI, are "lucky" in various ways. I left quietly, I don't think anyone knew I left. However, some people left under different circumstances, and their names were trashed. How loving, and "Christian" of TWI.
  14. Hi Jeff!! My name is Grace Claire, and I too am a Veteran; US Navy 1985-1990. Welcome to the Cafe; I love hearing from new people; especially Veterans. It sounds like you had some interesting times in both the military, and TWI.
  15. Soc, I grew up on a farm. One thing I learned is that Cow S--t is Cow S--t, no matter how it is packaged.
  16. OS, I can understand having classes for proper budgeting; some people have no idea of how to set up a personal budget. However, I think when the classes end, that should be the end of leadership getting involved in my personal finances.
  17. DWBH, no matter what type of day, I am having, your posts usually put a smile on my face. Oftentimes, they make me laugh!! Here in DC these days, laughter is a rare commodity.
  18. Soc, those brown chairs; how I hated them!! But you are right; they really did suck. Years ago, I took a Bible class in a church. What a difference the chairs made. The chairs were comfortable, and when the lesson ended, I got up without lower back pain. Thank God for small mercies.
  19. Sky, you asked the one question I would like answered. I haven't heard anything about it. Perhaps someone will let us know about it, sometime.
  20. OS, I have problems sometimes with my personal budget; sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. In my opinion, budgets are guidelines, and help me keep track of my money. I guess everyone has his, or her view of "proper budgeting." What works for some, may not work for others.
