Twinky, great question!! I left TWI because the Navy sent me to Naples, Italy for two years.(1988-1990.). Thank God for small favors!! When I came back to the US in 1990, TWI had blown-up, and I decided to leave for good. Thank God for the Navy!!

Wow!! Raf, good post! I left in 1988. The Navy sent me to Italy, and when I came back to the USA, I no longer associated with TWI. I am glad that I got out when I did. I think TWI started to implode after VPW died.

When I was in TWI back in the 80's, that was so true! That is one of the many reasons I left in 1988.

I don't think you are being harsh; that is what I thought when I first read it back in 1986(?). I thought it was Bull, then and I still think it is Bull!

Hi Grant! I left in 1988; I met some great people in TWI. However, I left when it was time for me to leave. God got me in, and He got me out!

Thanks!! But it really ticks me off when people are abused, especially in the name of God. I have had it happen to me, and it really p--ed me off!! TWI has the money to take care of all of its staff members, but it won't. Only the elite got taken care of. What about the people who dedicated their lives to that cesspool? They matter! I thank God every day for my VA benefits, minute as they are. I live a simple life; but I know that God takes care of me. What about all those that TWI have kicked to the curb? How will they survive in their Senior Years?

Quite honestly, I would not want to be President of TWI. I think the few presidents TWI has had have been corrupted by money, lust, and power. My soul belongs to God; not some sleazy cult.

Twinky, you are so right. The AC, in my view was a waste of time and money.

I have yet to read any where here at the GSC of anything positive RSR accomplished during her time as President of TWI. Perhaps she did do something good for someone, but I have yet to read about it.

Did he ever seek outside help for his alcoholism? Or was this something that TWI glossed over?

MRAP- you are so right!! I tell myself that I am not going to respond to anything political, so what do I do?? I respond! I think something about politics makes some of us, namely me, go a little nuts. IMO, of course.

Hi Raf, and company!! Raf, you are so right about politics really driving people nuts!! This election in particular has people going ape s--t!! How sleazy can it be; how low can it go??!! I'm not going to tell anyone how to vote, but I think politics in general can turn kind, good-heated people into screaming memes!! Please keep the political views off GSC. I love coming here, because of the love, and compassion for others. But politics often bring out the monsters in people. Sad, but true.

Very interesting topic!! I left TWI because the Navy sent me to Italy. When I came back to the US, TWI had fallen on hard times. I no longer attended TWI events, but I did attend in-home fellowships. I had no idea of all that evil that had happened in TWI; I was sickened when I first learned of what so many of my fellow believers had endured. Never again will I trust people the way I used to; how could "Christians" be so warped?? From what I have learned here at the GSC, TWI is almost dead. I pray that someday that the people who were wounded during their time in TWI, will be healed, and that God will take care of those who did such evil.
