Paw, I know this post is old, but do you have any idea of where Chris Geer is nowadays? Is he still in Maine selling his Christian junk? I have never met the man, but so many people who know him personally, say a lot of colorful about him. I am just curious as to what he is doing these days. Nosy minds want to know.

For sure!! My WOW year was horrible; I was so happy when my year was up. I know some people had good WOW years. But most of the people I know who went, hated it. -

For sure Waysider. I had no idea of all the nasty stuff that some of the leadership did. I thought VPW, and Craig were true men of God for example. It wasn't until I came to the GSC, that I learned the whole truth. TWI was far more twisted, and perverted than I knew. And some of the women have shared their experiences with VPW, and other leaders. Some of their stories made me cry; how could anyone mistreat people that way. But, sometimes the posts make me laugh, or think. The GSC is helping me process my time in TWI. -

That's fine; it is your story to tell. But I would love to read it. -

Yes, I would like to know also. Unless of course, it is something you would rather not discuss. -

I think GSC is a wonderful place to vent, and try to understand what happened to us during our time in TWI. However, a few people come on and post some really nasty stuff. If someone wants to disagree with me, that is fine. I can deal with it. But some people anger me when they go out of their way to .... other people off, or make nasty personal comments. We all adults, let's act like it. And so ends Grace's Sermon for the day! -
The Epistle of Chris Geer to the Americans: 1989
Grace Valerie Claire replied to Raf's topic in About the Way in Europe
And how!! If people want to attend his fellowships, that's great. If they don't want to, they don't have to. I remember when Vince was the Limb Leader of NY, back in the 1980's. I thought he did a great job back then, and I think he is probably doing a great job today. If people want to hear him teach, that is fine with him. If they don't, they don't. He is not going to force himself on anyone. -
The Epistle of Chris Geer to the Americans: 1989
Grace Valerie Claire replied to Raf's topic in About the Way in Europe
Raf, I know a lot of people dislike VF, because he used to be a jerk. However, years ago I used to attend his fellowship in the Latham, NY area and I loved it. Vince himself has said that he made a lot of mistakes when he was in TWI. I believe he probably did, but then so did I. Again, I know many people dislike Vince, and they probably have good reasons for doing so. However, I have very fond memories of Vince, and think he is great guy!!! But, I remember Ralph D. I loved hearing Ralph teach; he was so funny!! I thought Ralph should have been the one to lead TWI after VPW died. Ralph didn't take S--t from anyone, but he didn't take advantage of anyone either. I know from reading the GSC, that he was badly treated by TWI, before he left. I always thought Ralph was one of the few bright spots, in TWI. I hope he is doing well these days; he is a great guy!!! -
The Epistle of Chris Geer to the Americans: 1989

OS, you are so right!! My Wow year, 1978-1979, was terrible. I froze in Rome City, during the AC. For some reason, the air conditioning didn't work right. I don't know why it wasn't fixed; perhaps it would a lot of money to have had it fixed. I slept through most of the AC, because I had to wrap up in a blanket. I slept better in the classes, than I did at night. -

Wow!!! Raf, I really didn't know that. You seem to know so much about TWI; I thought you had graduated from The Corps. I went out Wow in 1978-1978. My year was terrible!!! I took the AC in Rome City in July of 1985. I hated it; I thought it was a waste of time and money. Oh foolish youth!! -
I wonder why he doesn't appear in public. I have never met him, but many people here at the GSC, say that he is a scary person.
-
What, he doesn't have a phone?? I would take the faxes, and shove them up his a--! If I could not communicate with someone, other than by faxes, I think I would not communicate with that person. I have never met Chris, but he seems like a strange person to me. I feel for his wife though; MS isn't something I would want.

Does anyone know where Chris Geer is these days?? Does he have a fellowship if any kind?
-
Pete, I took my first PFAL class in May of 1978 in VA. I went WOW in August of 1978. My WOW was horrible!!! I was so happy when the year was up!! My Area leader was unhappy that I wasn't staying. Imagine that; I wanted to go back home and go to college. The nerve of me; wanting to leave, and make something of my life!! So many if the leaders played mind games with us, and I hated it. Personally, my college years were great, and I did get some people in the Word.

Raf, please forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought you were a Corps grad. I thought you knew most of the top leadership of TWI personally. -

I can't understand that. I have heard some of Chris's Gartmore tapes. Boring!!!! I would not waste my time, or money on anything connected with CG. -

Neither did I!! I had no idea back then, how twisted they were. I know now, because people here at the GSC, have informed us of all the Trash that happened back in Way World, years ago. -

Good post!! Personally, I think you were too soft on Geer. I read his paper back in 1986(?), and thought it was bunk. In my opinion, it shows how inept Chris was. What a crybaby!! BTW, what is Chris doing these days? Is he still in Maine? Does anyone know about him? -
Twinky, I had no idea how much perversity, and sickness existed in TWI, until I came to the GSC. So many women were raped, and abused by the leadership. I had no idea of what how sick, and twisted VPW, and other leaders were. It made me so upset. So many kids were abused; for what? So much of our money was wasted on garbage; I thought it would be used to help fellow Christians. I was so foolish, when I was young!! But, I did have some good times in TWI. However, if I had known back in 1978, what I know about TWI today, I would never have gotten involved with it. Such an unholy, and ungodly organization.
