This was a test on how the chronological listing appears on the system: experiment, confirmed. OH RAF, you look so young back in 2004.

this is just a test of how the site works, not since this is back in 2004, will it bring it up to the top - will see.

Manfred Man or was it Dier Strait, either way -that's awsome use of lyrics waysider, but, then again, not to protect the man, did he ever have a real dream that included God? We all know how it ended for VPW. Here's a trivia: I ran (and I mean, ran) around two miles (Cross Country Joc) to the branch leader's house (my family too) to see the MOG, he made note of how I was running to meet him - I took it as a personal approval at the time, I later figured out he was taking the glory for himself - how we ran our butts off to get to him. What I have learned since, VPW led us to believe that the Apostle Paul was the MOG at Paul's time (via the corp, 4th Corp teaching to us) and that he (VPW) was the MOG for our time. Now going back to the Bible, there was no ID' MOG, Jesus was the MOG. That's the greater sin - characterizing yourself as a MOG (When Jesus was the only MOG) and then justifying it by stating that there have been MOGs throughout history (not talking OT here). Now, there are those on this site that will state that this is part of my TWI exit healing process, actually, I am still in the healing process of watching "Ol'e Yeller" at the theater when I was only around 5. I always use that Ol'e Yeller thing when marching up to PTSD type trauma's - it puts things into perspective. Oh, by the way: The Muppets, best show on TV, ever. A fun forum, see you later green frog.
-
Shucks waysider, everyone knows that Kermit is male; maybe catch you on another forum. Not literaly, I love frog legs.
-
Rocky, you just made my point, thanks, I need say no more other than: maybe see you on a more civil forum.

So you are WordWolf and you corrected me when I spelled your avatar with a small "w" on the wolf portion but you capped the "W" on waysider when it is not capped; if you want to find something to attack me on, you can do better than that. Now, with some regard to being inappropriate to a female (i.e. military protocol - like you might know), on this site, I have no clue who is male/female and I think it inappropriate to go back to the members tag in order to address folks more appropriately depending on their gender: now that's sexist WordWolf.

O.K., what is ABS? To me it is the American Breeders Society (located just north of Madison, WI), only a farm boy like me would make that mistake.

Yet ANOTHER Thread on Speaking in Tongues
MRAP replied to Steve Lortz's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Not responding to anyone here specifically but during this thread, I am not sure what is and what is not appropriate to discuss. It's looking like this doctrinal forum has a bit of anti-SIT rather than discuss SIT, it is about speaking in tongues, right? What the Bible says about the subject is pretty clear, so far as, it's avialable and do it. If someone wants to oppose that, than just say the Bible is hooey and if that is the case, why are you in this forum, except to save us from ourselves. Just sit (good use of a verb) and read. Hey,if you don't SIT, I don't care about your opinion (but would/and have, read them with interest) - these questions are only for the folks who actually SIT. Now, back to same original questions (I HAVE). Do those of you who do SIT, what % of time do you do it silently vs out loud and do you get more gratification from the manifestation doing it aloud as opposed to silently or visa/versa. If you have a need to pray for someone, do you SIT for them by keeping them/their situation in your mind and SITing (yes, mind must do multiple things). Just a note: when I first heard SIT, it really turned me on to learning more about the Bible but for most folks, SIT don't mean Jack. Clue: SIT does not lead folks to GOD, it's God's means to commo with his off-spring. Now, just because a person SIT's or wants to discuss the positive aspects of SITing it does not mean they are a TWI defender - SIT was around long before TWI. If this thread is about: "SIT-BAD" and that's what you want to hear, make it clear and I will get off this thread with appologies for stepping into the SIT bashing. -
Yet ANOTHER Thread on Speaking in Tongues
MRAP replied to Steve Lortz's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
waysider, I do agree in part to the fact that your mind can get in the way (or as you ascertain, is the way you speak) especially when not SITing out loud. I would invite comment to what I have to say. When speaking silently, there is seemingly way too much rendition of words but when out loud, numerous words and the syntax of structure. -
Gee Waysider, your definition of a cult, well, that sounds like the military. The differnce is that: it is you (for the military that is). When a corp or other "training program" person went home for holiday turkey with family, who were they? In the military, you just left all that behind at the table (just like a job) but in a cult, like you elluded I think, you are expected to stay in character. Actually, in the military, when not out on mission, you went home to wife and kids daily so you never really stayed in character. That's what VPW never understood, he was always able to go home (up the hill to his house)he tried to make the corp into "the Marine Corp" but he was never in the military and thus not into a position to make it like a military organization (too much TV and movies and not enough reality). But darn, did he not get his dream (then I pose the question, what was his dream).

NAME THAT ROCK or ROLL SONG
MRAP replied to Human without the bean's topic in Movies, Music, Books, Art
Sounds like a play off of both: Dead Man's Curve and Paradise by the Dash Board Lights but it ain't either, just stollen. Or is it older than both and then they are the thieves. -
You are quite right WordWolf, I made an assumption that there were alot of ex-corp here and thus, had expectations of some Biblical insight; that was a very bad assumption. So, are there alot of old/ex corp on this site?
-
Raf, who asked you, who asked any of you? Does longevity on this site provide some sort of seniority or privilidge? If I remember, going way back in the readings of forum threads, were not JS and JAL accussed of having this started and then berated for not responding to inquirees?
-
Here's my response to Raf, I posted it incorrectly within his post: Raf, thanks and no thanks. I am far from a TWI supporter, I have very personal reasons to resent TWI, especially given the years I devoted to them and to have limb and branch leadership turn on me and my wife to be - basically, you were not allowed to go to the marriage. That pretty much sinched it for us - most of our twig was "forced" to leave, so, we just did an "outside the way" Bible study. Bottom line up front, I think that since I have labeled folks in this forum as overly (almost cultist and at the least, an anti-TWI click)that they should evaluate themselves, I see there stance as: I stand for nothing but only stand against something. Pointing that out does not make me a defender of TWI. Now, with regard to some of the folk (teachers, researchers, limb leader) who left TWI and my yet to be determined support of them (STF), I find it a bit offense by the folk who visit this forum to attack those posts that I have made, interpreting that since I do not jump on their band wagon than I must, by process of ellimination, be a TWI defender (that's shallow). VPW dumped on my desires to find Biblical truth, he took my money (sharing) and used it for himself (headquarters, Emporia and the Colorado resort), I financially supported corp folk (don't have a clue where they are these days - no thanks there either). I plan to stick around GSC until it no longer fits my purposes. Raf, you can read my recent posts to waysider, et.al. If only having the ability to dis TWI makes you a part of the "in crowd" than I am out.

Taz, nothing like the military and it's wrong to refer to it as a sort of PTSD but you are not that far off the mark, sorry to say it but PTSD will eventually be grouped in with PMS (which itself has been degredaded) - after 37 years in the military, I have seen the dumbing down of military disorders (think of how they civilianized battle fatigue/shock). Yes, am off topic - enough said. I don't plan on staying or coming back to this forum, as I told waysider (Kermit AVATAR) my intents, you can read my response to him/her. Oh, and about the ol'e TWI days, no desire to pine for that way of life (left with a sharp cut), just would like to catch up with folks that were once very close: could not keep in touch with them since that would have endangered them as communicating with a TWI heritic (did the corp screen your mail - yeh, that's somewhat like military in a combat area). Anyway, (I forgive them, I understoud their fears - they could not even come to our wedding - another TWI WOW and I, now that's a great anti-TWI story), just want to know how they are doing. Yeh, I know this is a hard follow but so are alot of books.
-
Well, thanks waysider. I am on the wrong forum for what I am looking so will soon be exeting and going to the "doctrinal" forum) and what ever the name of that other forum is to find ol'e TWI folks. I meant no disrespect to you by the Kermit reference, I know I thought that I was further into the forum folks than I thought - then, what was I thinking, not really wanting to belong to a "click" of folks, no dis intended but that's how many of you are - I suppose that's a very good thing in many ways since the healing concept is a big part of GSC. I will leave with this, I look alot at the tense, voice, etc. of language (just how I went back and looked at what I wrote) and that is why I am so hyped about the REV by the STF.
-
Well WordWolf, I am very interested in your dissertation; I would ask you this question: when does a click become a cult? Maybe the aspect of abuse is the determining factor, or at least one of them.

Wizard of Oz - Emerald City, how appropriate for the date - 1 day late but it works.

So hiway29, what's a CT? If there is a way to send her a message, let me know. I don't have a clue who Steve Strzepek is but suppose that has something to do with the CT - maybe a heads up, please let me know, is she/they still TWI all the way - I would want to send a friendly note without offense.
-
So TZaia, is it really that hard for folks to look beyond themselves and not see something "possibly" new in the word. What I find exciting in this new age of immediate access is the access to Biblical research and so much "old" stuff is available; I do think that the REV has opportunity to open doors into understanding the Bible. Some of it in the REV is very controversial and I want to hear from folks who are in the same hunt as I and are willing to read those portions of the REV commentary and give a comment of their own. My thought on this, to make the inquirey in the GSC, was that I would entertain the comments of learned folks, i.e., old corp, etc. Now I see, that there is opposition to any reaserchest who had roots in TWI so I must take all of that into account. So, for all readers, if you have a bias against a researchest, can you make an unbiased comment?
-
Raf: I did post the question of the portion in Rev that went into the raising of Lazarus but have not yet gotten back to that - I have been on a road trip checking out the eagles between Red Wing,MN and Debuque, Iowa.
-
No Sir, REV, is about the Revised English Version but it does include the book of Revelation.
-
Well, I am certainly doing my best to get at everyones goat. The avatar that Waysider uses is not a frog (I used to hunt frogs - delicious), it's Kermit. If I had remembered that the pic of Kermit was Waysider, than I would have addressed him as such. Now really, there are alot of things to correct me on, and you choose this.
