  1. You're still younger than me. :D--> You talkin to me?
  2. Actually, I figured it would dock at Charlotte. That's where I remember touring the occasional navy ship that would come in for promotional reasons when I was a kid. Btw, I really loved Durand Eastman Park in the spring/summer. :D--> You talkin to me?
  3. The Breeze... so, does it come in right next to Sea Breeze? Or is that amusement park still around? :D--> You talkin to me?

  5. I don't know if anyone else is prohibited from there... but I am... and would rather not start rehashing (again) how that came to be. :D--> You talkin to me?
  6. Why's that Radar? To limit who is allowed to participate? :D--> You talkin to me?

  8. Well, LG, you seem to be taking issue more with which word to use than the underlying issues. And that IS semantics. bottom line is that I could care less what you believe. I'm not even taking exception to your views. I simply disagree. And yet, as I read your position on this issue, you seem to be willing to address the human/civil rights issues, but you seem very certain about what you want the solution called, and what you do not want it called. That IS semantics, from where I sit. :D--> You talkin to me?
  9. zixar, I was not talking to you. Stop stalking me.
  10. It appears to me that Catcup was NOT being hostile to any individual, nor was she calling names or doing anything but putting forth ideas that should be considered as our culture and society faces the need to change and to accommodate the human rights of individuals who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Perhaps with Long Gone, it is a simple matter of semantics, regarding definitions for marriage vs civil union. I've seen LG speak for the rights of individuals, but the adamant stand that "marriage" not be redefined seems to be something that decision makers who were intent (on both sides, govt and gays; not gays vs hatemongers) on resolving issues would eventually compromise on given that there is basic agreement on the UNDERLYING issue of human rights. Certain other arguments taking on Catcup appear to be, as alluded to by Catcup, nitpiking and therefore, IMO evasive and not engaging the real issues. And I am not referring to Steve expounding on gender pay comparisons, which, to me do not seem relevant to this issue. :D--> You talkin to me?
  11. I have to go with Ex10 on this. It's still about The Way. The doctrine was critical to the practice. Without the teachings, the practices would have been much easier to realize as nonsense. If someone doesn't want to engage Mike in that dialogue, don't. But for the primary mission -- making clear the error of The Way -- it's not at all unreasonable to engage in discussion of the errors in both the teaching and the practice in the same forum. :D--> You talkin to me?
  12. Hey niKa niKa -- I don't know the words to that song, but I read your "postalness". More like "righteous indignation" if you ask me. I'm sure glad to STILL know you folks... niKa, and Excie, and Simon, and everbody else!!! :D--> You talkin to me?
  13. And the surviving "mother" is not guaranteed to get custody of the children... :D--> You talkin to me?

  15. All hail the power of Excathedra's name!! :D--> You talkin to me?
  16. whatever --> you are obviously RIGHT on any issue on which you take a position. :D--> You talkin to me?
  17. BUT... the unmarried heterosexual couple had the OPTION, and therefore the RIGHT to marry and make such a scenario a non-issue. Thus far, the same-sex couple does NOT have the option, and therefore, I agree, it is a CIVIL rights issue. :D--> You talkin to me?
  18. chili today, hot tamale....? :D--> You talkin to me?
  19. Angels and Mariners are on ESPN right now, from Peoria, AZ. :D--> You talkin to me?
  20. Tom Strange: First -- NO need to apologize for spelling. Spelling doesn't count against anyone here at GS. Second -- you make excellent points. The one that resonates with me, as father to a teenage daughter, is "I would submit we could find a lot more folks who have been attacked or come onto by a heterosexual. Lately, female teachers preying on both boys and girls in school have been making news. It's wrong, and it's pedophilia. Further, I've read plenty of news accounts citing statistics showing the prevalance of female rape victims. Who are the attackers? Almost exclusively -- heterosexual males. These points can help to put the fears in perspective and hopeful allow us to open our minds to consider whether our fears and concerns are reasonable or not. And whether we can reframe our personal view of homosexual individuals more along the lines of incorporating the godly nature (somewhere in the epistles of Peter, I think) in our outlook. Which takes us back to having to come to grips as individuals with our prejudices and hopefully choose to look at homosexuals as people who deserve respect as individuals, and if not, then for unacceptable conduct that hurts others, as opposed to hating them just because they are homosexually oriented. :D--> You talkin to me?
  21. Well put niKa. Whatever it takes to get people's attention. This conservative argument makes sense. Even takes pot shots at liberals, probably just to help the conservatives connect with the writer. The whole thing is inevitable. We are either, personally, going to cope with the societal change or we are going to continue to participate in the fear and loathing, which leads to propagating superstition and hate crimes. :D--> You talkin to me?
  22. you are correct sir. I got the jokes by email. They are funny anyway. My experience in family court and regarding homeowners' association issues both makes it so I can relate to the attitude toward lawyers and at the same time still figure that's the direction I need to go. I've been telling people for years that if I won the lottery, I would go to law school. Well, it's looking like I might have a way to make that happen. I wouldn't be able to start before fall 2005, however. :D--> You talkin to me?
