  1. Yeah, what was that masked man using on his pitching hand?
  2. Zelasko does indeed look like Angie Dickenson!
  3. Boy oh boy, hiway, you had both cynical and reflective in that post. Back on '01, I went to two post season games... the last game of the NLDS when the Dbacks finished off the Cards, and Game ONE of the WS when the Dbacks blasted the Yankers, I think it was 9-1. That was fun alright. But not that kind of fun this year... my home team had a pretty mediocre year. But, we can both (all or most of us here) say as they say in Chicago... wait 'til next year! (or something like that).
  4. Hey DMiller, Sure it seems like Detroit forgot to show up, or maybe left their bats in the locker room, but the serious is far from over. It looked to me like, toward the end of the game, Leyland was working to get plenty of guys into the game, to work off some of the week-long layoff. I'd expect the Tigres to come out with more energy this afternoon. Might not happen, but at this point, I think they will...
  5. Well, Simonosis, if Yadier's bat remains hot, you could be on to something. However, I'm reminded of the emphatic comments Hall-of-Fame 2nd baseman, turned ESPN sportscaster Joe Morgan said about the Yankers. I believe it was something like that Detroit's pitching would not be able to shut down the potent Yankee offense, so they need to focus on just "containing" them (what ever that means). However, Detroit did in fact shut down Torre's boys, unambiguously!
  6. Simon says (said): Tigers in 6. Like, who's favored anyway? But ya gotta figure LaRussa's gonna do his part to make it exciting. It was almost a no brainer for Tony to have Belliard squeeze in the 2nd, but it still looked like the Mets were caught by surprise. So, no one else has HD and saw Pujols with his cold sores, eh? oh well.
  7. Pretty dramatic right down to the last strike, eh? Congrats to the Cardinales... btw, am I the only one to find it gross to see close ups of Pujols licking the cold sores on his lips? eeeeww!
  8. I wonder what one might find if s/he were to do a GOOGLE search on each of those names....?
  9. Since LindaZ is one of our biggest fans here at the ol' cafe, I figgered this would be a good place to invite all of us from the 9th to wish her a HAPPY B'DAY!
  10. Yeah, it just ain't in Pujols' approach to the game to do that to Floyd... Phat Albert's too good to need to get an edge by toying with the opponent. Now, I believe it was Maine who did make Pujols look foolish by getting him to strike out, swinging at, and missing, pitches that were entirely nowhere near the strike zone. And I suspect Leyland has devised ways to keep his team from losing it's edge despite the extended rest.... we'll see. Oh, pahleeze... I hope you're not doing that in public!
  11. Oh, come on Tom, admit it... this year's WS is nothing compared to the expectation that the Tejas stRangers will win it all in 2007, to perpetuate the role of Buck Showalter to build a team only someone else can lead to the WS championship!!!!
  12. Hey TommyStrange... glad to see YOU!!! I hope you brought the sno-cone machine!
  13. Hey niKa, I donno if it's a 3 or 4 count but it's good enough to dance to!!!!
  14. Thank you my dear friend Jalapeno! Nice to see you again, tooooo! I don't know about WHIPPING anyone into shape... perhaps some WHIPPED cream on top of a sno-cone would be nice, however. That is if our dear Strange friend stops by soon with his sno-cone machine!
  15. R.I.P. 2006 Oakland Athletics! Rhino, your powers of prediction are simply ASTOUNDING! Boy that bottom o' the 9th was pretty exciting today! (the one in Detroit) When will you have your NLCS winner prediction ready?
  16. The Parole Board finally got in touch! Thanks for the mention.
  17. How very nice of Mr. Rhino to let me know he remembers me! You're a scholar and a gentleman.
  18. Tnks Excie dear... nice to be back... and a big MWAH to you and all of my 9th corpse friends... :x
  19. Indeed! Thank you LindaZ to all the 9th and fans of the 9th
  20. Ditto for me, too! Our local print media has reminded us here in the desert that Lidle was one of the original players taken by our hometown Diamondbacks in the expansion draft back in 1997. But he never played for the D'backs.
  21. Tnks dmiller... and Mr. Zelotes, no ankle bracelets or anything... I served my time and thought I saw a yeller ribbon round the ol' oak tree just outside the Cafe!
  22. I can see the sunlight again!
  23. Thank you Radar! How do you spell Radar backwards? :D--> You talkin to me?
