  1. Charles Barkley? If the list is going to be heavy on power hitters, the Dbacks might not get dinged... but then again, the now retired Matt Williams was implicated a few months ago... but that might have "just" been for using HGH. I can't imagine that Barry will be left off the list.
  2. Isn't THAT where rhino gets HIS "inspiration" too" (j/k)
  3. How come they didn't save us from Bush/Cheney...er, SADAAM and Al Qaida? ...oops, sorry, strike that last... don't want this to have to be transferred to the politics forum!
  4. Exactly... since the prefix "mal" means BAD. I never really bought into the notion that we'd need emergency supplies... and this, btw, is hardly unique to twi. My ex succumbed to the prosyletizing of the mormons while we were engaged in divorce litigation. She was taught to keep a year's worth of food and other stuff on hand in case of some unforeseen catastrophy. Until Katrina, I just thought that was nuts. I don't think it's nuts any more... but I still don't have that kind of provision on hand.
  5. Yes, it's amazing what ridding one's self of stress can do for one's health.
  6. I understand the Dbacks are in that race... but I don't know how serious they are...
  7. Do you have sons playing baseball? Do YOU still think you can play? A former MLB pitcher has developed a new and improved CUP, and I don't mean for spitting your tobacco juice into... Check out the YouTube video... this is a REAL product... watch the guy take one in the nuts! And he doesn't even flinch.
  8. Which I HOPE he will! Don't forget that the NL West has strong pitching on all or most of the teams.
  9. And the tap dancing... and the muscleman poses... If it weren't a funny parody... it would be most WIERD!
  10. That's a good link Belle... thank you. And Jonny, in case you know who Sunesis is... she IS registered at the other site, so, if you want to talk to her about it, you can try both places. btw, I too was on the receiving end of a couple of Wierwille's tirades at Emporia, as I worked on A/V part of the year during corps nights and other such evening meetings. He WAS mean. I know that FIRST hand.
  11. And Groucho... and But Now I See... and/or others who would be eligible to go there... IF you have no personal desire to find any old friends, I can see how you'd have no use for the site... but I enjoy it for the reasons stated. Period.
  12. Now Groucho... come on... what Richeson wanted? I don't think so. If you're not aware, there are some of the SAME links on the main (not forum) GSC page... And I know of one guy that had started a blog on his page (there) about how thankful he was/is for Wierwille and wishing for the "good ol' days." John R posted some comments to that blog indicating his disagreement with that perspective (without John having to say it in a nasty way), but the blogger deleted the comments. THAT was offensive. NO... John has wanted it to be open and diverse in perspectives/ideas within the range of who registers. So far, there are just over 600 members and there IS a wide range of thought, but few who praise Wierwille. Yes, there are some... who have links to their personal ministries... btw, NOT Michael Rood however. That would REALLY be bizarre... But the links are there because John wants to be tolerant, NOT because he wants to dictate allowable content on each member's personal page. And Groucho... IF you are (still) registered there, you WILL find that I have posted the YouTube video (on my page) that Dougie told us about on the thread about my birthday... it's a Neil Young song about impeaching Bush... it's political and it's funny... but one of the things I did to minimize discontent is limit viewing of it to those who are in my friends list... but NOT everyone on my list are liberals... all of this... FWIW.
  13. Well... I have access to the site and tried to view it. Apparently, it has now been deleted. And YES, there ARE some there who are unrepentant. But there are also some there who specifically post their views favoring apologizing to those who they have hurt. But for the site's intended purpose, reconnecting with old friends... it has fulfilled that mission, or purpose for some... And Evan... IF you know who had posted it and can find out where we can view it, I'd be interested in seeing it also. Thanks, Rocky

    Ex10's Birthday

Nothing wrong with being that old... a whole lot of us are so old there were only 48 states when we were born... now, if it said 47 or fewer, THAT would be old. btw, I left a b'day greeting for you on another website... on the correct day. :)
  15. I'd say "welcome to the club..." but it's not such an exclusive club. Those two adjectives are nearly synonymous (sp?). But we didn't know it when we were 19 (that was my age when I was first introduced to twi). And... WAYSIDER... I agree, excellent observations (as TomStrange said). Indeed, the churches I've seen since leaving twi (still, very few, but there nevertheless), had focused teen AND young adult ministries. We all go through those transitions... all of us.
  16. I didn't see the list, but that's what was reported to me, yes. And check post #4 of this thread... it describes their departure from Texas.
  17. I heard the other team is going to have an ample supply of TROJANS... perhaps because they expect to get sca-rewed on New Years' Day?
  18. Lisa Tracy (Emmaus) is married to Mike Tracy. Lisa is 9th corps, Mike is 7th. And Helen Suddeth was an earlier corps member and in groups like Joyful Noise, I think... from that same time frame. Though I don't know when that CD was recorded/released or when Ken and Helen took their exit from twi.
  19. I didn't see any replies to your query, Hooner. Yes, there was a David Walker. I don't know if he was an artist. He was in the 7th corps.
  20. btw, Highway... at that site, if a person doesn't like the comments someone leaves on their page (the first person's page), that page "owner" (for lack of a better word) does have the ability to delete said comments.
  21. I can't imagine it would be that difficult to grow them like that. Just put a box around each blossom to limit/define the parameters of growth. If the leaves get sunlight, that should make it workable for the fruit to develop in the box. And it seems like it WOULD make for more orderly storage and transport.
  22. THAT would be IT. tnks Dr. GSG! :) I have no idea why they would. But it appears to be something they just DO.
  23. No. How could you read that into what I said?
  24. I still don't really know why they split, but don't think it was because Ellie wanted to stay in twi and didn't. And, glad to be of assistance.
