  1. Why do you have to try to expose a GSC poster's identity... if you really do wish him well in his life?
  2. So much for what the scriptures say about the bible... "Lost for 1,500 years, the fourth-century commentary by African-born Italian bishop Fortunatianus of Aquileia interprets the Gospels as a series of allegories instead of a literal history. "Dr Hugh Houghton, of the University of Birmingham, who translated the work, said it was an approach which modern Christians could learn from. "The find adds weight to the idea that many early biblical scholars did not see the Bible as a history, but instead a series of coded messages which represented key elements of Christianity, he said."
  3. If I'm not mistaken, you HAVE said that... several times and in more than one way. ;)
  4. Ummm... Mike, you are blaming young, inexperienced PFLAP grads for wasting opportunities? How about if Wierwille's ministry had been of God maybe God would have given him guidance on how to help those young people build sound wisdom and insight?
  5. Perhaps this is the "critical thinking skills" that don't get taught in schools... or by very many parents.
  6. It was sold as "who didn't want to be the spiritual elite?"
  7. There are a number of videos about the Stanford Prison Experiment on youtube. Some excerpts, some reflections on the experiment, and even (for a fee) the entire documentary. When I first heard about it, I couldn't watch the entire documentary... because I couldn't emotionally tolerate it.

I still use granulated kelp. Here's the source: seaveg.com but they close the store during August because they are busy with the harvest.

    Any Word?

I promise, I will not knowingly get you started...

    Any Word?

Yeah, Ramona Bidon's name was on the list.
  11. ROA 75, my first, LOTS of flies at the fairgrounds. I learned to kill flies by using two hands to clap together. Lovely memory. Btw, you described well the way corpse tent ambiance.
  12. Adults also tend to search for meaning, particularly during times of uncertainty, research suggests. A 2008 study in Science (Vol. 322, No. 5898) by Jennifer Whitson, PhD, and Adam Galinsky, PhD, found that people were more likely to see patterns in a random display of dots if the researchers first primed them to feel that the participants had no control. This finding suggests that people are primed to see signs and patterns in the world around them, the researchers conclude. People also have a bias for believing in the supernatural, says Barrett. In his work, he finds that children as young as age 3 naturally attribute supernatural abilities and immortality to “God,” even if they’ve never been taught about God, and they tell elaborate stories about their lives before they were born, what Barrett calls “pre-life.” “What we’re showing is that our basic cognitive equipment biases us toward certain kinds of thinking and leads to thinking about a pre-life, an afterlife, gods, invisible beings that are doing things — themes common to most of the world’s religions,” says Barrett. 13. Yes, he did... 1) Delusions of grandeur and 2) sense of entitlement. Especially when it came to sexual favors.
  14. Not only that, but as I was completing a bachelor's degree in accounting in the mid-1980s, it became apparent to me (from the Book of Acts) that accountability in twi was bass-ackwards. The ministers were supposed to be accountable to those they were ministering to. But because twi consolidated (centralized) the power of its resources (ABS), they developed the misguided notion that the "leaves" were supposed to be accountable (subservient) to those at the root.
  15. AFAIK, VB was the only one in the 14th corpse.
  16. That's Victor Barnard. He was no longer involved with TWI when he started his own cult and raped multiple tweens. He's behind bars now and probably will never walk free again. That's not who Pawtucket was referring to in April 2011. We only learned about Barnard in 2014 or 2015.
  17. Humans can be such strange animals. The power of WANTING to believe is very strong. IMO, that's an underlying issue with cult susceptibility.
  18. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. - Albert Einstein Indeed, worry and fear stifle imagination and curiosity.
  19. You haven't studied or reflected on much literature in your time on this earth, have you? "All nine all the time" was cult jargon, an idiom. Not to be understood as literally as you suggested. Nevertheless, for other reasons YES it is and always was a meaningless cliché.
