the Dodger defense, which really was about the best in the league all year. is dependent on all things being right with the world-which they sure aren't for the Dodgers right now Nomar can hardly move, Kent has been hurt for months and can't bend over, Furcal is usually flawless, and 3rd base is the revolving door. Lofton is a few years past his prime and can't cover ground, Drew is usually solid but plays it safe, left field is the showcase for rookies. Martin is the catcher of the future, who had a great rookie year. That cover it ? Dodgers are doing their usual fade in playoffs. When they're bad they're really bad. If Nomar can't start Saturday, look for a late inning pinch hit role, that everyone will compare to crippled Kirk Gibson's pinch homer in '88- and hoping that lightning will strike twice I'm not assuming the Yankees are going to beat the Tigers. I live by Yogi's wisdom-in baseball, you don't know nutnin' ! Imean nothin' or nothing, it's early

Kuo was one of their best pitchers in September- don't ask me to explain Grady putting Brad Penny in as a reliever last night though I'm still hoping for playoff tickets-good shot for Sunday-if the Dodgers last that long

Trelane -aka "The Squire of Gothos" 'It's time to come in now, Trelane' 'but I don't WANNA'

Derek Jeter- one of the reasons I still love the game Carlos DelGado almost matched him hit for hit today though Dodgers stunk up the joint-they either look like the 27' Yankees, or the '62 Mets-you never know hoping for a miracle that the A's fade-I just like the Twins Cards should hand the Padre's their hats go Yanks

It seems to me to be a weird disconnect with the 'real world', to give that answer to a court. Not only does it evade the question, it's delivering 'wayspeak' in a court of law. What did she think the response to that would be ? Isn't telling the truth 'doing the word' ? Did she then tell the courtroom to renew their minds ?

There were memorable episodes in each series, though I rarely watched ds9, or Voyager. Enterprise reeked until the last 2 years, and found itself too late. as to the quote, I'm wondering if you are throwing a curve by that not being a McCoy quote. That's not much to go on but I'll guess "All Our Yesterdays"

That fraternity looked like fun largely because of Wally, the fat guy with the weird laugh. They were a wholesome bunch, studying, taking Coke breaks, and encouraging father-son days on campus. The show of course, was 'the Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet', which ran an amazing 14 years on tv, and was a big hit on the radio before that. David and Ricky went from being little kids, to married adults ( with their real life wives playing the roles). In fact, the Nelson house was modeled after Ozzie and Harriet's real house, right down to the ugly eagle over the mantle. The usual joke about the show was that noone knew what Ozzie did for a living, but it was clear he was a retired bandleader, just as he had been a big bandleader in the 30's and 40's in 'real life'. Of course, in 'real life', Ricky had drug problems, marital problems. But for the most part, the personalities on screen were pretty much who they were. The show wasn't about those kind of 'adventures'. The show finally left the air in 1966 mid season-replaced by.....'Batman' !

I knew the answer before playing the theme, Kathy. To call that show 'adventures' was hilarious, considering that the 'adventure' usually consisted of going out for ice cream, or something. I hate to admit it, but I loved that show, largely for that very reason. It was like tv valium, everyone speaking in measured tones, and never getting too worked up. Except for the end of course, when theylet one of them 'rock out'. Can't explain why I enjoyed it, but I did. I just did. Oh, and the word 'adventure' did give it away, which may reveal more about me than I care to think about !

I should find out today if I won the ticket lottery-I'm not holding my breath I'd like to see a Dodgers-Yankees series, even though it would create no end of angst for me. My childhood love for the Yankees still exists , but the reality is I'm way more connected to the Dodgers now, living in their backyard and spending countless evenings at the Stadium worst case for interest seems to be A's-Padres I can live with either the Tigers or Twins getting in-I love the AL central

pretty bad drawing of Kirk, I agree, Sudo In all fairness, they did have the likenesses of the main characters nailed on stock close ups (most every pose on the show was 'stock'-tons of re uses) They tried to be SO realistic and cheap at the same time, that a pose like that, head down, eyes shut, would be too big a challenge for the animators crapping the show out

sounds like you're in the ds9, or Voyager worlds. As you know, I'm useless there.

you may out live Fenway, mstar

Happy Birthday Sudo !!! wow, you're old-hey wait, I'm the same age !!! Loking forward to a new year of the nostalgis thread

oouch-that picture reminds me how bad that cartoon could be it really was done on the cheap, but it did have many of the original crews voices, and some writers from the original series my biggest problem was that it was played SO deadpan-there were few light moments and everyone seemed to be just reading off the script-I'm pretty certain they weren't even in the room at the same time, though that's not uncommon by the way-the cel of Kirk pictured doesn't match the background, so it was meant for another scene

playoff scenarios give me a whopper of a headache looks like the Dodgers are going to be in, they've at least tied for a tie breaker I got an email at work that said I was on the lottery list for play off tickets right behind home plate- I probably have as much chance as in winning the real lottery I wonder if I can believe for them ?

I have never heard of Denny Dillon being a Mouseketeer. but-- The Mouseketeers were 'color coded', according to their status and function. I forget what color meant what, but the 'star' troop, Annette, Cubby, etc, were 'red', but they would also use lesser known Mouseketeers on a given day, which were 'blue'. Then there were the Mouseketeers that showed up to open shopping centers and such. These were 'white' mouseketeers. Kids you rarely if ever saw on tv, but looked good in the mouse ears, and t shirt. It's possible Denny fell into that category, but who knows. On the other hand, Don Grady from 'My 3 Sons', and Paul Peterson from 'Donna Reed' WERE Mouseketeers.

ah , Darla Hood, from 'Our Gang'. In 'real life' she was somewhat afraid of Alfalfa, but thought Spanky was great. She died way too young. I forget the disease but she was in her 40's, 50 at best. I thought Annette got better looking as she aged. I think it was more her loveliness as a person that somehow emitted tyhrough the screen. I was a Doreen and Cheryl fan myself. I loved that window, Sudo. Unfortunately, the bean counters at the studio decided we were better off in a warehouse off the studio lot, next to where 'Imagineering' is located. Now my window consists of grey walls, outside a grey cubicle. I still go over to the lot for lunch and meetings though.
