I never saw it either, but I'm curious about it now. I remember the advertising blitz for it when it first came out. I didn't want to see it because I had an aversion to Hayley Mills for some forgotten reason. Maybe it was 'Pollyanna' that turned me off to her. I'm over that now and think I'll try to take a look. It may turn out to be a really good Disney film, made before they were taken over by Love Bugs and such.

That is amazing wasway and your last post would not have been out of place on the show I quoted above.

That sounds like good news about Sheffield. If they can only move Arod, they'll have gotten rid of the 2 biggest high priced albatrosses, which would be a good step to becoming a real team again. 3 pitching prospects-maybe none of them will pan out, but if even one does it's worth the deal.

I know it was his ego, Linda-I was being a little facetious, as it was so ridiculous.

He was an excellent quarterback in way pick up games. I figure he had to be good since he quarterbacked for BOTH teams the day I watched.

It was in the still new wow auditorium, probably in 1985. It was either a Sunday night service or some Saturday night production thing, around the time of Athletes of the Spirit.

You could not admit you ever voted for a Democrat when I was in. I remember Craig screaming about how we live in a Republic, not a Democracy. Democracy was 'mob rule', and the way believed in leaders who would make decisions for everyone else. God forbid anyone has a mind to think. The role of the masses is to trust the leader in government as well as in church. Unless of course the Government leader is Democrat, then all bets are off. My favorite Craig rant was the night he yelled at an 'open' meeting about how we shouldn't read newspapers. That they were a waste of time and that HE would tell us what to think. I worked on a humor magazine with a couple of corps guys, who loved all things Republican, and Democrats were lower than dirt. Not unlike the attitudes of some of the more colorful people on the friendly politics board.

JD Drew turned down a 3 year option with the Dodgers worth 33 million (!), to test the free agent waters. Some players are delusional, and this is the delusionist. If ever there was a non presence by someone hitting 100 rbi, J D was it. Kind of like the guy who hits home runs during 10-0 romps. Drew sat out games regularly for various aches and pains, played like he was bored with it all, and was a non factor in the clubhouse. Boras convinced him that with his 'awesome numbers' he was worth more than the piddling 33 mil for 3 years. It will be interesting who offers him more, and even more interesting to see whatever town he goes to gape in amazement at the dog they just picked up.

I knew I was right so I took the liberty of posting the next one. See above.

For some reason, I'm pleased that there are people here that can quote from "Mush and Milk".

"We have to shoot and kill and destroy. We represent everything that's wholesome and good in the world." "We have to shoot and kill and destroy. We represent everything that's wholesome and good in the world."

He means heels, as in the back of ones feet. Being on the 'heels of the devil' . Like chasing someone and being that close to catching them. Heel-the back of the foot, not Heal-as in healing a sickness or infirmity

That's Sheriff Andy Taylor, coming down on Barney Fyfe, or Gomer, or Goober, or Ernest T. Bass, but I doubt if he ever talked to Aunt Bee like that.

Tommy Bond had 2 stints in the Our Gang films. When he was younger, he was called Tommy, and wore a page boy haircut. He wasn't portrayed as a bully at the time. For his best performance then, catch "Mush and Milk' if you ever get the opportunity. He left the series then came back a couple of years later as Butch, older, bigger, and the perfect 'bully'. By all accounts, Tommy was the nicest kid in real life, and Alfalfa was more of a bully. Until his passing a couple of years ago, Tommy made alot of appearances at 'nostalgia' shows, meeting fans and selling autographed pictures. I 'm glad to have met him and to have a picture hanging in my cubicle at work with much other nonsense.

no need for apologies Raf, but thanks. But I will be more careful in the future.

I remember that nice Neal Adams cover with the 2 L's, but the story is long gone from memory. The Quarrm creature was the sand guy, in a story that lasted a year or so, intending to lessen Superman's powers. Like I said, they dropped the idea immediately afterward.
-
Unless I'm not recalling correctly, "Superman Under the Green Sun" was a comic from the 60's, and not a bad one at that. Green suns. Not many of those around. The Q radiation from the Quaarm creature, which I'm assuming is what you're referring to, was an attempt to make Superman not so all powerful, as it had really gotten a bit ridiculous. Everyone's favorite being the time Superman blew out a sun with his super breath. The intent was for some of his powers to be permanently lessened. It lasted for about 2 minutes, then forgotten. It's a dangerous thing, letting Superman geeks get started. Unless the board is rescued by some rock classics, there's no telling what will happen.

I got really roasted for revealing something else recently, so I'm just not feeling good about it. I'll get over it.
