  1. Fonzie on the 'jump the shark' episode of Happy Days?
  2. I'm Jack Piper since Krys is Brooklyn Piper, maybe we're meant to be a tag team
  3. While I'm certainly not in favor of high ticket prices, I'm addicted to going to as many live games as I can. Maybe it's the my upbringing, when I had to beg my parents to drive from Connecticut to finally see Yankee Stadium. I consider it my good fortune to now live within 15 minutes of Dodger Stadium, and never tire of going . I space out sitting in 'good' vs 'bad' seats. Since I rarely go to a bar, or blow my money on other vices, Dodger (and Angel) baseball games have become the luxury items I allow myself. I also enjoy walking to the local ballfield and watching Little League. It's all good. Of course when I'm home I'm tuning into whatever gaame is on. I can watch The Devil Rays vs Royals and be happy. And it's still way cheaper than football or basketball games. The winter withdrawal is getting to me. I..need...Dodger...Dog.
  4. I'm fresh out of quotes right now, but I know the answer. That's from 'Where No Man has Gone before", the second pilot that sold the series. How the execs figured this episode was better than 'The Cage", is something of a mystery to me., but maybe it's best we didn't have Captain Pike instead of Kirk. Anyone with a mind to , please jump in.
  5. you are correct, George. and I can't remember the exact episode either ! That's my problem with later Trek shows-I usually see them once so they're not ingrained in my brain like earlier Trek is. I remember the scene though-probably because I noticed T'Pol's bum!
  6. Not just dorm rooms. I know of one fine upstanding Christian organization that used to send men and women out on recruiting programs living together, and sex was never a probl- uh never mind.
  7. since I'm stereotyped then- "I think she's pretty" "Oh, God" "You ever notice her bum" ? "What" ?!
  8. EVEN Hiway should get it ? thanks alot that is Charlie X though.
  9. agreed-I said the Miracle Whip grossed me out NOW. I Loved it back then . Maybe you're saying I should treat it with more respect because of the history. I can see that.
  10. Zito crosses the bay and signs with the Giants, for enough money to buy the golden gate bridge. I didn't know the Giants wanted to throw around that kind of money. If they think Zito is going to bring them a title, they may be disappointed. Still, in the NL west, any advantage can make a difference. Looking forward to seeing him at Dodger Stadium. 3 more months until opening day !
  11. I'm really sick. I went through a year in college living on sandwiches consisting of oscar mayer salami and miracle whip, on wonder bread. About 25 years later, I thought I'd see if you could go home again, and recreated the culinary masterpiece. The salami was no worse than I remembered it, the wonder bread tasted like cardboard-but it was the Miracle Whip that really grossed me out. I actually liked the stuff years ago, but couldn't stomach it now. I still eat an occasional ham sandwich with mayonaisse-but that's another crime against nature.
  12. Speaking of that doggie porn video, I was living in St Marys as a 'regular believer' (not staff or corps) in 1985, when they showed it at an 'open' Christian Family and Sex night at the OSC, where any piffle grad was welcome. The good people of St Marys and New Bremen 'needed' to see it I guess.
  13. I know what you mean about Rocky 5, Raf, though I thought it a sad, depressing end to the series. I think Rocky Balboa is the film that Rocky 5 wanted to be, by an older, and amazingly wiser Sylvester Stallone. It's like a bookend to the first movie.
  14. I'm the youngest. Curt is 2 years older, and Geoff is 5 years older. I was definately the 'baby' in the family growing up, and it took literally decades for that perception to change. Curt was the middle, and from what I understand, had many of the typical 'middle child' problems-only more so. Geoff was the 'perfect' oldest. Kind of an 'over achiever' who still kind of thinks he's 'in charge'.
  15. Well, I just talked to Curt for the first time in 11 years. I can't say it wasn't awkward for both of us, but it was great to hear from him. He may even fly out to visit soon, which I think would be awesome. I'm still thinking about how it felt and what it meant to speak to him. If this leads to a renewed connection for the 3 of us, it would be a wonderful thing. In a way, the 11 year exile may ultimately make for better relations than we've ever had.
  16. I'm not sure if the many 'advances' are the same technically as a 'family camp', but if not I'm not sure what the difference is. 'Devotion with Motion", "Divine design", 'Horizontal Hour" etc. and ALOT of sitting and listening to endless teachings. My mother once told me that a group from her methodist church were sharing the same grounds with a group from the way on the same weekend. She said the thing that perplexed her church group the most was why the way bothered to use the beautiful setting , then never came outside to enjoy it. That just about summed up every 'advance' I'd been to. I recall longingly looking out windows on gorgeous days up in the forest, while trapped in a stuffy room while one teaching after another lulled me to a kind of waking sleep.
  17. Just when I think miracles might not happen. I haven't talked with one of my brothers for over 10 years. I have 2 brothers. Geoff, who is married with 2 kids, and Curt, who we haven't heard from since my parents passed away in the mid 90's. Curt was always troubled and angry as a youth and never really changed. He caused all kinds of grief , especially for my parents. After my mother died, I think he decided he didn't need to deal with any of this family junk anymore. He married a woman I only met once, but came from a broken home, and encouraged him to isolate from my brother and myself. The last anyone heard from him was 11 years ago , when he showed up 4 hours late for dinner at Geoff's house, and his wife was angry that dinner wasn't still being served. He moved to another part of the state and out of our lives. The last I heard he was divorced. I get a call from Geoff today. My niece Katie , who is 14 and doesn't remember Curt, went through all of the old family pictures sitting in the attic of her house, and put together wonderful scrapbooks for Curt and myself. It was a labor of love and really touched me. It obviously touched Curt too. he called Geoff, apologized, and asked if he could come over for Christmas. Unfortunately, I'm in California and can't get to the east coast for Christmas, but will certainly be on the phone. We'll see what this all leads to. Katie's act and gift of love, apparently worked in his heart. It's amazing what love can do.
  18. there were moments when I was crying like a baby. miles better than Rocky 5 many thanks to Sylvester Stallone
  19. Let's see-I'll trade my mac and the thousand advantages it has over pc's, so I can play Sudo's clips-yeah that sounds about right.
  20. I dunno-must be some mac vs pc thing-it's downloaded but I still can't run it-probably need to push some key here or there but beats me so what's the dad gum show anyhow?
  21. Ive got realplayer installed and still can't get the clip would someone be so kind as to say what the show is? though I'm guessing that it was the Amos and Andy There's a famous Christmas episode of Amos and Andy where Amos delivers a message like this. I've never seen it but I think I've deduced it.
  22. ah-I never watched 'the A team"-not once was I missing something ?
