  1. Well, George's is 'Live and Let Die" Paw's is 'You've Lost that Loving Feeling" new one "go away from my window'
  2. I have no memory of Bolshevik being put down. I guess I should let that go by, but what are you talking about ?
  3. OK-I've had time to get over my 'rant'. Since really, only a few of us frequent here, I wonder why Mstar posts all these anti-Yankee finds, knowing they'll 'push my buttons'. Or maybe I'm giving myself to much credit, and he doesn't even think about it. The latter is probably the case.
  4. That cute video is of course a ridiculous extreme, though I've heard more than a few Boston fans being very smug that THEIR guys aren't involved. I dunno, Ortiz and Manny are looking kinda bloated lately... I'm sure Mstar will deny this vehemently, but if Selig had paid some Yankee exec to investigate the Fenway clubhouse, without looking into his own backyard, we'd be hearing about it.
  5. At this point-seems to me some WANT Arod to be guilty, so there's a whole lot of interpreting and reading into his statements. As I've said, I'd be more comfortable with ' the list' if the 50 million spent had gone into talking to more than 2 guys. As far as Schilling goes, he may have had some extra 'help' playing behind him in Boston, Arizona, and Philly. Oh right, those players aren't on 'the list', so of course they're innocent. Maybe a few hundred million more will inspire the investigators to ask a few more questions, to a few more clubhouses.
  6. True-maybe we should stop with Dylan while we're ahead. Your turn, Tom I think it's 'Don't Think Twice, It's Alright'
  7. another big Neil Diamond hit for the Monkees was, 'A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You' uh... I'll post one when I can think of one.
  8. Since 'the list' is so selective, and barely scratches the surface, maybe every player in baseball needs to be asked 'the question', so we can judge whether he's lieing or not. The results of that study prove that a huge problem exists, and baseball better start getting serious about testing, and enforcing. Beyond that, it's incredibly shallow, in that it all rests on a couple of clubhouse guys claims. If the goal was to verify the problem, it succeeded admirably. If the goal was to name names, then every clubhouse should have been grilled and put under the microscope. As it stands, it's ridiculous to me that scores of players are sitting back and watching a select few get hammered, while they're 'off the hook'.
  9. I'm also not accusing anyone of anything. I was responding to a comment that seems to have been re thought out and edited. If Canseco is so credible now, then that means that almost EVERYONE is on roids. I forget the percentage he stated, but it's way more than half the players.
  10. Allegations haven't been 'disproved' ? Isn't that kind of backwards in our legal system? Hey-I could say Manny and Ortiz are on roids-If it isn't 'disproved' how can you say I'm wrong, by that logic. Or did that 'disproved' comment just get edited out?
  11. Guess I'm so used to your Yankee bashing, I read your colorful descriptions as insults. Maybe your sense of humor doesn't translate on paper. I know mine doesn't. That weird entrance they have now is just one of many mistakes from the renovation. The 70's were not good for ballparks. I used to think that outside of part of the field, and the direction it faces, there wasn't much that survived in the renovation. I've been there before and after, and so much was lost in the process. Then I took the Stadium tour a couple years ago, and found that to be thrilling. The underbelly, locker room, dugout, press box, and field all dripped with Yankee-ness. Which is a good thing to some of us. I thought of Lou Gehrig as I walked the tunnel to the field and got all choked up. So yeah-it is a huge loss. But I'm thankful for the time spent there.
  12. How many jibes can one get into a sentence -'for those who care', 'house the taxpayers built'. As much as I wish it wasn't happening, at least they're not moving to the Meadowlands, as was once threatened. Someday, maybe not for another hundred years, Fenway and Wrigley will be coming down too. Ebbets Field, now that was a shame.Atleast the team is staying this time. And the Mets new park is going to emulate Ebbets in an attempt to see if you can go home again.
  13. I didn't say I felt sorry for, or was excusing those named. I said it was the tip of the iceberg, and those select players are taking the bullet for all the rest. At least you're putting baseball in it's proper perspective. It's guys getting rich for hitting a ball with a stick, and is ultimately meaningless. No one is going to the ovens, as you say. World Series wins, home run records, etc, are just candy to keep us entertained while we try to gut it out through life. You're right. Life isn't fair. If you can get away with something , while the guy next to you gets nabbed, it's all good.
  14. I stand corrected about no Sox, though I admit I've never heard of alot of those guys, and others had a 'cup of coffee' with them. The list may be minor, compared to the scope of the thing, but those players can never show their face in a game again, without chanting and whatnot, going on. That's while they're playing with guys just as guilty, who weren't in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  15. Clemens is of course, now in Barry Bonds territory, and can kiss the Hall goodbye. It seems he didn't start until he was with the Blue Jays. I'm just asking questions. Like why give this job to someone who's on the payroll of a major league team ? And whoever heard of a U.S. Senator protecting his own interests ? The whole evidence seems to come down to 2 clubhouse guys, that decided to squeal. That means there's alot of other clubhouse guys yet to be heard from, and scores of players that just dodged a bullet. I think the naming of these players, who's careers will forever be ruined,on the say so of some clubhouse guy, was unfair, and potentially libelous. It's the tip of the iceberg, and the chosen few will take the bullet for the rest.
  16. It seems to me Mitchell's having it both ways concerning the 'list'. He doesn't want to do that, yet a long list is provided, crucifying those players, while potentially hundreds are 'off the hook'. Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age, but I do find it curious that with Mitchell's Red Sox ties, there's no Sock on the list. And don't tell me Gagne qualifies.I'm just wondering. The Dodgers got hit particularly hard. Who knew LoDuca was so busy. Not to sound like I know anything, which I clearly don't, but I always thought Gagne looked a little too puffed and jacked up when he was blowing down the NL.
  17. I didn't see Pujols or Pudge. I also didn't see Veritek, who's name was being thrown around this morning. I do see alot of lawsuits ahead. as this guy seems to be judge and jury, with 'hearsay' being the predominant evidence. At least it certainly wasn't from testing, which is the only real proof. I'm sure they all or most did it, I just don't think you can prove it. Now every name on the list is smeared forever, and I'm certain many other players are breathing a sigh of relief about now.
  18. My first reaction is that the roids didn't help alot of those guys. With a list like that, I can only think it's the tip of the iceberg, and wonder how he determined who got named and who didn't.They can't be the only ones.
  19. Wow ! Fukudome indeed ! Sorry, couldn't resist. Good thing Harry Carey's not still around, trying to pronounce that name.
  20. Good one, Tom. I had a perfect viewing seat for Milton's water bottle meltdown at Dodger Stadium. He's not shy about putting on a 'show' when he wigs out.
  21. I don't see the Brewers looking to trade Gagne if he's doing well. The Brewers are suddenly a contender in the NL Central. It doesn't seem to take much to be a contender in the NL these days. I know National league 'snobs' who are grudgingly admitting that the AL is better, which is something I never thought I'd see. Milton Bradley is a heck of a good player. If his head was screwed on right, he'd be a great pick up. He'll still be entertaining when the inevitable meltdown happens.
  22. I just read where Ellsbury was charging $125-$150 for autographs at a mall in Boston recently. Not bad for someone who still qualifies as a rookie next year. Of course , his agent is Scott Boras. He certainly isn't too proud, (or smart enough) to turn down the money. He can at least claim that it's cheaper than going to Fenway. In other news, Milton Bradley has signed with the Rangers. Trust me, Tom. The fun has just begun.
  23. I guess that's the price of success. Hope you can get to some games. The Dodgers draw close to 4 million every year, yet I always manage to get either great seats at a reasonable price, or opt for the cheap seats in a pinch.Of course they haven't had the winning seasons the Sox have, but that really doesn't keep anyone away. I suppose the scalpers will start demanding alot more, should they ever win the series. I know Arod is a shmuck, but I do tire of being reminded of it. I'm not going to let it taint my Yankee support, any more than Mstar would with the Sox, had he landed there. I see Gagne got picked up by Milwaukee. Oddly enough, unless his arm is shot, I think he might thrive there. He and Boston were a bad mix, which I 'knew' as soon as I heard he was going. He'd have been just as crappy with the yankees.
