  1. I'll cut to the chorus "1-2-3-4...sha la la la la la"
  2. No one's gotten this ? here's the next line- "When I think of all the worries that people seem to find And how they're in a hurry to complicate their minds"
  3. "Let's Twist Again-(like we did last summer)'-Chubby Checker ( not Fats Domino) "When I think of all the worries that people seem to find"
  4. I thought this an interesting list of instructors at the Yankee camp. Yogi,Craig Nettles,Reggie,Goose, Ron Guidry, Tino Martinez,Stump Merrill, Mickey Rivers, Hector Lopez. HECTOR LOPEZ ! There's a name I hadn't heard since my childhood, when he played left field on the Mantle-Maris teams. Nice to see he's still around and contributing. I'd take that team anyday. Rivers leading off, Reggie hitting clean up, Guidry starting and Goose in the pen.
  5. We may not always see eye to eye, mstar, but I think this book would speak to you and your passion for baseball history and lore in a special way, and encourage you to give it a go. I can think of worse ways for you to get through February.
  6. So do I count down for the Yankees, Dodgers, Angels, or just be glad the day has arrived. I think I'll just be glad. I finished 'Crazy '08', by Cait Murphy, about the amazing 1908 season. It's a window that's been opened on that time, by one of the best baseball writers I've come across in many a day, that somehow refreshingly barely involves the Yankees or Red Sox.
  7. I had to look that one up, and kicked myself for not getting it. I'm surprised it's taken so long.
  8. "For No One" -the Beatles-with a neat French horn I think the lyrics are 'your day breaks'-so maybe I have the wrong song in mind
  9. "Aqualung" "Coming to me in the morning, leaving me at night"
  10. 'just wanna ride on my motor-sickle' but I don't know the name of the song.
  11. Brain Salad Surgery I'm going to have break my own rule and not post a new one right now though. Anyone may jump in. that particular song may be 'cmon see the show' or something-but it's the title track to Brain Salad Surgery
  12. I don't know, Tom-you seem to be the only one who knows it.
  13. just a suggestion-it would save dead time if we added a new clue when we identify songs we know we've got right. My Generation-The Who "When I look up in the sky I see your eyes a funny kind of yellow"
  14. OH NO ! I missed your birthday, Shellon ! But let's keep the celebration going ! Happy Un birthday!
  15. I don't really connect myself with 'Phineas and Ferb' as yet, since I didn't work on the first season, which is now airing, and I won't be starting on it for a few months yet. The show I've been most involved and 'identify' myself with is Kim Possible, where I did layouts and designed backgrounds for all 4 seasons. There are other shows in my 'resume', but I'm not here to talk about my so called career.I appreciate the interest though. I was reading this morning where the left field in the Coliseum was 250 ft plus the 45 ft net. Only for this game , with new seats, left field will be 200 ft ! I think I could have reached that in Little League. I see alot of balls going off the net. I wonder what kind of bounce the ball will take off it, and how will the fielders know how to play it ? I'm really hoping for a ball over the right fielders head, where he has to chase it down.
  16. I'll be working on the second season of 'Phineas and Ferb', a new cartoon that Disney is throwing a lot of weight behind. The best thing about it for me is the number of episodes. Nolan Ryan is now president of the Rangers. Nothing wrong with that !
  17. I found out that I may be going to the Coliseum game after all. I'll believe it when the tickets are in my hand. They're from a season ticket holder who has excellent regular season seats, so I'm assuming that I won't need binoculars from right field. I then realized that the season opens the following Monday, and I've got Dodgers-Giants tickets for that Wednesday ! In further good news,I thought I was facing a layoff at work in March, and was given a reprieve on a project that will last for 2 years. Springtime, a steady job, and best of all baseball-someone hit me if I ever start complaining.
  18. hissyfit may be too strong a term for it, but he left the field before the game was over . Granted it was confusing at the end, but if his team had to go back out and run one more play, seems to me his job is to stay til the end. Others are making a bigger deal of it than I am.
  19. The hissy fit by Bellicheck (sic) at the end of the game was pretty revealing, and not in a good way.
  20. getting just a bit too premature there mstar
  21. As popular as the Sox are , this game was sold out on the strength of the 50 year anniversary of the Dodgers in LA. They could have been playing the Cub scouts and sold out that fast. Not that anyone isn't happy to see the Red Sox come to town-it's just that this game isn't about that.
