He was found guilty in the civil suit, right? Do you think there was a clause that he couldn't make any financial gains on any publicity or media portrayal of it? I guess not unless all proceeds from this monstrosity are going to Nicole and Ron's families.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDY!!!! I hope it's wonderful! I'll never forget how much you helped me in "the old chat room" when it was a hopping place to be during lunch hour. I'm so glad that God is restoring what the locusts took in your life.

Tom, much as I'd like to entertain your idea that I might be twisting your words, I just don't have the time right now so I'm going to ignore it. I'm hoping against hope that LarryP has uncovered new unremembered lost teachings that will show Sudo is not really a sh!t-kicking lesbian body builder. Maybe it's in the tapes Fortunateone says he has, but it appears he is too busy doing the Time Warp to listen to them for us. Doesn't he know that the Time Warp was covered on two other threads in the Open section? Is that violation of the OLGs doctrine? How long till DMiller posts on here thinking it's a new, fresh thread? Will he bring new light to the poll? Will he remove any remaining hanging chads? I'd love to know the answers to these questions, but you know I'll forget them as soon as they're posted if I even have time to read them since I'm so busy. I don't even have time to be posting this, much less re-reading the thread in it's entirety, but not because you told me to!

What Rascal so eloquently said. :) It takes time and what works for one person doesn't work as well for another. Some folks are very comfortable and happy in one of the offshoots - good on 'em! There are good groups out there and good-hearted people. Some of us wanted absolutely nothing to do with a church, much less God. Some of those decided to stay that way for even more varied reasons. Others, go back to an offshoot or a church, some to the religion they were raised to believe. I think, for me, it's been a process of learning and I'm still learning. I don't have all the answers and I think we're not supposed to - we DO see through a mirror darkly, right? I think that mainstream Christianity is missing it in a lot of places, but I do very much enjoy the church I visit occasionally and I will continue to go, but I will also continue to "do my own thing". And that "thing" changes on a monthly, daily, hourly basis. I'm not sure how long you've been out - it's just over 2 years for me - but you will get more confident in your ability to trust yourself and you'll be able to hear, feel, sense that still, small voice inside you more clearly again. This time, you know what it is and that we should listen to it. (((((Potato))))) It's a long, strange trip, but it's a good one! Enjoy the journey and the process knowing you're not alone. :)

Tom, seeing as how I'm in my second childhood and continually forgetting to remember (or is that unremember?) the 100 hours of lost vee pee teachings, 70 of which LarryP rescued from the cutting room floor, I'm not sure I have time to re-read and address all the comments on here. In fact, I don't really even have time to comment on your comment that I should receive, retain and release the first page of posts on this thread. I'm still scarred from the first appearing of this thread because of Cynic's mind picture of Sudo as a "sh!t-kicking lesbian body builder." Between that and the images of him "pole dancing" at Weenie Roasts, I think I shall never be able to retain anything again in my life.

Good point, Rascal. Heck, we see it here at the GSpot quite a bit and, although tone of voice doesn't carry very well, with some folks their distaste for church is really just lingering waybrain and the desire to remain somewhat "spay-shul", which isn't easily found in church but is readily available in many offshoots. (some and many being the operative words here)

Don't you have some amazing sea monkeys to play with or something?

Sounds like you've done a pretty good job of that on your own, T&O. We don't beat up on folks like that here cause there's too many of us who have done the same things. I apologize when I can, when I can't, there's nothing much I can do. I've asked God to forgive me and I've forgiven me. It's so much nicer and more peaceful now without the burden of micro-managing and judging other people, isn't it? As Maya Angelou says, "You did what you knew how to do, and when you knew better, you did better. Whatever you have done in the past ..... you did what you knew how to do. You are responsible for it. But from here on out, you will know better and you will do better—a whole lot better. You can start now by making intelligent and informed choices ..... If the plan isn't working, change the plan." BUT, if it'll make you feel better, I'll take that multi-thousand dollar check off your hands. I know, it's not much, but it's the least I can do. ^_^

What a friggin' nutcase! He must be hard up for money, attention or both OR could it be a guilty conscience? Reuters Story on OJ LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox said Tuesday it will air a two-part interview with O.J. Simpson at month's end in which he describes the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend that he says he didn't commit. The interview will be conducted by editor and book publisher Judith Regan. On November 30, her Regan Books is publishing a book Simpson wrote with the working title "If I Did It, Here's How It Happened."

This is the Disney light show here in FL this year. My boss's girlfriend got the bid, so we've been watching the progression of the whole shebang from bid to finished product. It's been exciting to say the least. Anyway, I thought y'all might enjoy seeing the light show. there are 3 YouTube videos from different angles. My favorites are 2 and 3.

Corn Salad This is also "to taste" and it's better the second day. 2 Cans White Shoepeg Corn 2 (or more) chopped tomatoes 1/4 (or more) chopped green onions 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise Salt Pepper (I add a lot of pepper to this salad) I've won some local contests with this recipe, unbelievably.

I LOVE seafood and wish I could afford to eat it all the time. This is my favorite Salmon recipe and I'm always looking for different things to try. Honey, Lime, Ginger Salmon I make this without measuring and make enough to use for salad dressing, too. Honey Fresh squeezed lime Freshly grated ginger Mix together adding honey to make a thick consistency. Marinate Salmon overnight in 1/2 of the mixture. Grill or broil the salmon basting it with part of the leftover mixture Use remaining mixture for salad dressing

Chef, that's my second favorite way to eat rainbow peppers! Raw being my first choice. :) Vixen loves them, too! For a snack, especially on "movie night" Chop up a cauliflower into little florets: Spread them out on a cookie sheet Lightly brush them with olive oil Broil at 375 for about an hour or until they start to caramelize. (I go till they look really dark) Then eat like popcorn.

Oh, man!! Rascal made the best pea soup I have ever had in my whole life at the Weenie Roast last year. I'ma gonna PM her to get her tail over here and share her recipe. She puts a dollop of cream cheese in the middle of each bowl, too! I'd never heard of that!

LOL! Didn't think about that T-Bone. I was always partial to the cartoon characters, myself. Just for looks, I mean. I do think I might see if I can get accepted at The University of Toronto.

Doctrines of The Way Ministry that do not line up with truth
Belle replied to year2027's topic in About The Way
Sounds a little too way-ish and full of personal interpretation for me, Keith. I don't see anything in those verses about changing behavior - not in English or Greek. <_< -
Didn't Simon and Garfunkel warn people about the brown acid at a concert once? And....who would take brown acid anyway??

Yes, and, when my Daddy was tasked to judge a chili contest last year, I re-sent it to him. Wanted him to be prepared, ya know?

Does this mean what it looks like it means? Is rosie setting up her geriatric care? Sounds like they are stuck with her till they bury her. What happened to the "five years" and then time for new blood? It also seems to me that, in addition to watering things down, they are operating from a "wishful thinking" perspective. Surely they aren't getting that many "new people" if they really are getting any new people. From what I understand and hear, it wouldn't be near enough to off-set the "old people" who are waking up and leaving the group.

Maybe it was just a quick thought? Or is that what happens when one does it too much? :o

Y'all crack me up! I love it when you reminisce like this. What fun times!
