    Guns

I love the security of having a gun and knowing that I'm a d@mn good shot, too. I think, too, that the bad guys think twice about messin' with someone they know or think may be armed.
  4. Well, thank goodness for that! I still think a picture of Paw behind the counter with a danish platter should be under their "fellowship" option. You know what, that might be Allan's brother in law in that pic on TWI's site.
  5. Right Reverend Gordy, I believe we have a new person who could benefit from a personal prophecy: It's worked before!
  6. HA HA HA!!! Is that really Mark? HA HA HA!!! How many other "cop outs" do they have pictures of on their website? And of all the cop outs, for them to have him on there?!?! :biglaugh: OH, my sides... my sides.... ha ha ha.... Maybe they should add pictures of Christ Geer and John Shroyer to make it "complete". Paw, I think they should put your picture with the "Fellowship" section. Here's a link to the picture: TWI's Website Teaching Picture
  7. Hey, Uptown1, you can get your personal prophecy right here at the cafe for free!! Step Right Up! The Right Reverend G. Gordy Godfrey was "bang on" with mine! Couldn't have been more accurate, if you ask me. They'll "review" their teachings on personal prophecy like TWI "reviewed" their teachings on debt. They will never admit to being wrong about anything. You'll never hear, "I'm sorry. I screwed up." from any of them. What's the lawsuit for? To keep from admitting he did anything wrong. Something's wrong with an organization when, at the very root, are measures that prevent change.

We're all waiting to see what your next profound statement will be. That, or the special on strawberry filled donuts today.
  11. from another thread All of 'em allowed it to happen. All of 'em let it get out of control. All of 'em ignored the red flags. All of 'em owe the folks of CES an apology. What qualifications do any of 'em have? Which ones even come close to the character required of leadership, especially leadership over God's flock?
  12. Bow, just do what I do..... call it "seasoning"
  13. I have a few Greek recipes, but Chas is right - octopus is a PITA (pain in the arse) to fix. That's why you hardly ever see it sold in "normal people" fish markets. It's best left to the experts. What else might ya be innerested in?
  14. Only if you serve enough wine so we don't notice.

    Meatloaf

A few months back on Good Morning America all the anchors were bragging that THEY made the best meatloaf. Well, it turned into a competition and here are the recipes: Diane Sawyer's Ingredients 2 pounds ground beef 4-5 slices of white bread toasted and finely crumbled, to make 1 cup 3/4 cup whole milk 1 egg 4-5 canned plum tomatoes drained and diced or 3/4 cup diced canned tomatoes, drained 3 tablespoons finely chopped sweet onion 3 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper 3 tablespoons finely chopped celery 3/4 cup ketchup (in the meatloaf) 1 cup ketchup (for meatloaf topping) 2 teaspoons salt 1½ teaspoons ground black pepper Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large mixing bowl combine the toasted bread crumbs, the milk and the egg. Mix together with a fork. Let stand 10 minutes. 3. Add the meat, tomatoes, onion, green pepper, celery, 3/4 cup ketchup, and the salt and pepper. Mix together with your hands. 4. Put in center of an iron skillet. Shape into a loaf. 5. Pour the cup of ketchup over the entire top, thickly. 6. Place the skillet into the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees (check with an instant read thermometer). 7. Let stand in juices until cool and firmer. ******************* Sam Champion's Ingredients 1 large egg 3/4 of a 10 3/4-ounce can of Campbell's Tomato Soup 1 cup Ritz Crackers (finely ground into crumbs in a food processor) 1 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1½ cups finely diced onion 2 pounds ground beef 1 pound ground pork Directons 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large bowl whisk egg thoroughly, add the tomato soup, and continue to whisk until combined. Add the Ritz Cracker crumbs, the salt, the pepper and the onions. Continue to mix until thoroughly combined. Then add the beef and the pork and continue to mix with your hands until thoroughly combined. 3. Place mixture into a 9-by-5-by-3-inch oven-proof (Pyrex) pan, and shape into a loaf. 4. Put into preheated oven and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, until an instant read thermometer reaches 165 degrees F. 5. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. ******************* Chris Cuomo's Ingredients 2 large eggs 1 cup whole milk 3 slices Wonder Bread without crusts ½ cup fine, dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup Worcestershire Sauce 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 3 tablespoons cinnamon sugar 2 tablespoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt 1½ tsp ground black pepper ½ cup finely chopped fresh parsley 1 medum onion chopped fine (1 ½ cup) 2 Red Delicious apples peeled, cored and grated 1 pound fatty sirloin beef 1 pound ground veal 1 pound ground pork Topping 1 cup ketchup ¼ cup Dijon mustard ¼ cup honey Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large bowl whisk the eggs. Then whisk in milk until thoroughly combined. Add bread and let soak in egg-milk mixture. Press down with the whisk to submerge bread. Then add the breadcrumbs, the Worcestershire sauce, the vanilla, the cinnamon sugar, the garlic powder, the salt, and the parsley, and whisk together thoroughly. Then add the onion and the apple and whisk. Then mix in the meat using your hands. 3. To make topping, in a medium bowl whisk the ketchup with the mustard and honey. 4. Spread half the topping on the bottom and sides of a 9 by 5 by 3-inch ovenproof (Pyrex) baking dish, with a rubber spatula. Place the meat mixture in the pan, and shape into a loaf. Spread the remainder of the topping on the loaf with an offset spatula. 5. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 165 degrees. 6. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. ******************* Robin Robert's Ingredients 1 large egg 1 cup whole milk 2 tsp salt 1 tsp ground black pepper 4 slices white bread, crusts removed, cubed 1 medium onion, diced to make 1 ½ cups 1 green pepper, diced to make 1 ¼ cups 3 pounds ground chuck 1/2 of a 10 ¾ oz. can of Cambell's tomato soup Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. 2. In a large bowl combine the egg and the milk, stirring with a wire whisk. Add the salt and the pepper. Then add the cubed bread. Then add the onion and the green pepper. Combine with the whisk. Then add the beef with your hands. Mix until thoroughly combined. 3. Place mixture in a 9" X 5" X 3" ovenproof (Pyrex) loaf pan. Shape into a loaf. Carefully spread 1/2 a can of tomato soup on top of the meatloaf with an offset spatula. Place the meatloaf pan into a roasting pan (to catch the juice that drips over while the meatloaf bakes.) 4. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Farenheit and top is browned nicely. 5. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. Robin is black, but she IS from Miss'ippi, so maybe that's why her recipe is awfully similar to this white trash gurl's recipe. I do plan to try Chris's though, his came in second.
  16. Dooj, if time is the biggest problem, check with your library to see if they have "Desperation Dinners" (http://www.desperationdinners.com) or "Sugars and Flours: How They Make Us Sick, Crazy, and Fat" Both of these books have ridiculously delicious, quick, easy and healthy dinners that can be prepared in record time. That being said: I LOVE MY CROCK POT!! (Sorry, I call 'em crock pots) I agree with Shellon, get one that has the removable dish. I've got a ton of recipes on the puter at home, but here's a few ideas: The first two are from Cooking Light Magazine which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE - Can't remember where I got the last one. Did you ever skitch?

Why Sprawled, I 'spose yer right.
  18. Thanks, that DIE FOR PEOPLE stuff is just a little too morbid for my taste.
  19. And people with particular character flaws should not be presenting themselves as examples or pastors of God's kids. Character should speak for itself, but when it's white-washed, hidden behind a mask and others lie to keep up the charade we don't really have the information we deserve to make an informed decision. Thanks be for people who do expose a person's character flaws when the organization has been set up to hide them.

    Dog Park Website

WW, I usually remember the dog's name before the human's. LOL! We're on our honor here, Sudo. There usually gets to be quite a 'regular' crowd and they're pretty good at policing folks. I've heard people asked to leave with their aggressive dogs from our park. People who don't pick up after their dogs have been ridiculed into leaving. Serious dog owners know how hard it is to get to have a place like that generally won't let a few folks ruin it for everyone else. At least that's the way it's worked down here. It's also why I don't take Vixen into the small dog part of the parks.... she's a pug hater for some unknown reason. We just stay away from the pugs.... far away from the pugs.
  21. Ditto, what Tom said. I remember how devastated I was when I discovered that TWI wasn't what they pretended to be.... when I discovered those leaders who pretended to love and represent God were really living to satisfy their own bellies.... when I discovered that it wasn't ME who was the total f*c* up, but them and how I'd allowed them so much access to my life and heart only to have it ripped to shreds. They let me down and it felt like I broke every bone in my body on the way. I'm sorry for anyone to have to go through that, truly sorry. I hope you'll fight for yourselves, for your own healing and stability. I highly recommend, "The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse". It was the most healing balm to my life when I first found out TWI wasn't genuine.
  22. What's he gonna say? "Your Honor, they made fun of my wife for claiming people were possessed after she dreamed they had spiders coming out of their noses!"
  23. I asked the same thing, Notta. I was asked what my 'motive of heart' was in asking that. I was told that they would provide it if someone genuinely wanted to know, but then was never provided a copy of the books, or even the tax information that others have been able to find on here. TWI folks shouldn't have to ask where the money is going. They should be told every quarter - yearly at the least. They should be getting annual reports detailing salaries, donations and expenditures. But they sure as he11 shouldn't have to ask and then go through the Spanish Inquisition to determine if they're worthy of seeing the information. Watcha hidin', rosie??
