  1. HA! So, you've expanded your snow cone business, I see! NOW we know why you're in the business...
  2. Hey, sex coupons are definitely a win-win! Always were in my house, anyway..... My Daddy likes good art and loves family photos, so I had a dear friend of mine photoshop an Andy Warhol-ish print (kinda like this, but better, imo) from one our family pictures. Personalized and he LOVED it! Giving "adventures" and "memory making excursions" are always really nice - like ex70's suggested - a day hunting pass, a day trip someplace he would enjoy - I bought my little brother a sky diving adventure one year - am buying my mother yoga lessons this year... Does he like trivia or nostalgia? I bought Daddy a book of the 100 most memorable movie scenes (or something like that) and it came with a DVD hosted by Dustin Hoffman. I've bought some nostalgia radio shows for my grandparents from here. I've bought things I "Never Knew Existed" for friends from here.
  3. I had no clue on the first one, IrishEyes - and got no clue on this one either. I looked up "Used to Be" by Stevie Wonder on You Tube and don't believe I've ever heard that song before. I saw the words "holy water" and thought, at first, it might be this song, but the rest of the lyrics did not sound right. Thanks for the "something new" :)

    Ex10's Birthday

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS, EX10!!! MAY IT BE ABSOLUTELY WONDERMOUS!!
  5. :) Thanks, Kathy. Sudo, I saw that at the local Community Theater production when I was but a wee child, but that's the only time I've seen it and obviously don't remember it - just that it was one of the productions one year. I'll have to watch the whole thing as I do so love the clips you've posted. Loved the Batman clip, too! Bulwinkl, that is a beautiful picture!! I have a funny about the Monkees .... Ashland, KY, where Daddy lives, has a concert series on the river bank every year. A few years ago the Monkees were the headliners. Davey Jones came into Daddy's bank to cash a check or something and the teller was a pretty young thing who noticed that he was "not from around here" so being the customer service oriented teller that she is, she asked him what he was doing in Ashland. .... Then which band he was performing with. The poor thing had no idea who he was and had never heard of his band.
  6. George, if you start singing it - it's one of those that gets "stuck".... at least it's been running around in my head since deciding to use that song. Bulwinkl, you got it! :)
  7. Okay, call me lame, but I liked those "novelty" songs when I was a kid. But, I laugh at Dr Demento humor, too. I LOVE the Chipmunks Christmas album. My late grandmother used to have us kids play it over and over and over again at her house. It was a big deal when we got to be old enough to be trusted to turn the album over on our own. Better than any Christmas gift was the first time I heard Mama Nina say those words, "Belle, please go turn the Chipmunks record over." I have some good (by my taste ) clips but don't know how to post them. p.s. Sudo, I liked that man singing, but still don't have any idea what movie that is from. :)

    Flight Survival

Let's say the passenger sitting beside you on a plane or on a train is a real arse... 1. take your laptop out of your carry-bag; 2. open it slowly and gently; 3. turn it on; 4. make sure the passenger beside you is looking at your screen - they can't help themselves; 5. open your favorite browser; 6. close your eyes and lift your head toward the ceiling; 7. take a slow deep breath and click on this link: 8. look at the expression on your neighbor's face...
  9. Not sure what that means. Has she taken up reading Ann Coulter? Even with George's comment, I still don't get it.
  10. Based on jean's response, I'd say you got your answer, Sunesis. It's Danny's fault. Unless, of course, john really does want to do the right thing, but we'll have to wait till he's out of the penalty box since he would never post under his alleged wife's screen name...
  11. I was laughing, Sudo. You couldn't hear me all the way up there? Seriously.... if we stay quiet you keep posting goodies like that song. Now, that tree is MY kind of Christmas tree! I've got the perfect gift to put under it, but you'll have to talk to Santa to get it.
  12. Are these observations from the Texas BBQ?
  13. HA! My Daddy was like that sometimes growing up.

    Love reading you, Matilda!

    Geography game ...

LOL! I accidentally clicked in Canada while plotting Mt Rushmore and we won't even talk about how far from Las Vegas I was... I didn't realize how much I rely on those dotted lines in our landscape. On the other hand, I *did* get only 42KM from Naples, Italy and I could have gotten Amsterdam even closer, I'll bet. But, hey, I didn't do so hot on the 50 state capitals test someone posted a while back, why on earth would I think I could do any better on a worldwide scale?
  17. EXCELLENT POINT, Potato! There are loads of posts here of people lamenting the fact that they did not speak up or do something about things they saw, heard or experienced that were entirely inappropriate. I wonder what that particular woman's perspective of the incident would be and how different it might be from john's.
  18. It would certainly make it easier for us to show people what being in a cult can do to someone. Yeppers, men like that rarely, if ever, take responsibility for their role in the problem. (((((Roy))))) You are such a treasure! I am so glad that you post here and I, too, hope that johniam at the very least apologizes. I fear, though, that he will just attempt to defend his heinous words exactly like he has in the past.
  19. What kind are you looking for? I have a few at home that never get used.
  20. Sweetheart, order from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Christian Book Distributors before you give them one red penny of yours.
