Clueless I am
-
Sounds like generic movie dialog to me.
-
seen it? I've never even heard of it. I'll look it up on Netflix (plug!)
-
Yeppirs! You're up GL.

A stranger brings a timely gift to a young couple; but with a horrible catch that puts them in a moral dilemma. They make their choice staring a chain of events that radically affects their lives and redefines reality itself.
-
I haven't seen it, but that sounds like it might be a summary of the plot from Gremlins
-
Yes they would. And yes, there's a lot of sorcery in it. Some "spiritually dark" stuff. You're not necessarily wrong for avoiding it. :-)

The locomotion. It's getting late, have you seen my date? Ma, tell me when the boys get here. -
Is it secret? Is it safe?

Streetcar named Desire?
-
Yes it does! DING! You're up Human.
-
Sorry for the obfuscation Human. Disregard that first part about the hero becoming the salvation of his people. I was making a reference to the standard plot of "the hero's journey" which is found in most modern action-adventure and SF-fantasy stories. That description could summarize one of a dozen or so movies including Star Wars, Prince of Persia, Lord of the Rings, etc. I guess it was a bad joke. The synopsis begins with "a few guys launch a daring..." BTW, this film is at least ten years older than Die Hard or the Matrix.

[[off topic]] Btw, thanks for posting Band on the Run SS. That was one of my favorite songs in Junior high school. I sang it for hours. For some reason, my wife is in a bad mood today. Can't figure that one out.... -
Oh goodie! My turn! :-) :-) Hmmm. How about this; a young man sets off on a journey he didn't want to take, faces life-threatening challenges and is guided by unseen forces to what becomes the salvation of his entire people. No, wait, that could be one of a 100 movies. How about this... A few guys launch a daring and potentially violent crime. Mistakes are made. The perps are surrounded and what was supposed to be a snatch and grab turns into a siege. As the story unfolds, the thieves motives become clear, a surprising relationship is revealed and the people watching the standoff turn against the police.

Although I've never seen it, it sounds like you're referring to Brigadoon.
-
Ooookay. I've never even heard of that movie before. But you're right SO_Crates, it was a nifty ending. Kind of like a green flash. The banana peel was funny. :-)

It sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't place it. :-)

That's kinda weird cause I had already decided that the next time I got a turn, I was going to use an Elton John song. :-) Okay, how about this instead? Mama, just killed a man, put my gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead. -

Crocodile Rock by Elton John. -
I guess you guys haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite. It's a comedic celebration of nerds. I think you'd like it. Free Post!

I've seen that quote on a T-shirt related to the movie. Besides, this is the "Flicks remembered from just one line", thread, isn't it? That was one line. Anyway, here are some more. Hey,_________. What did you do last summer again? I told you! I spent it with my uncle in Alaska hunting wolverines! How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?

Planes, Trains, & Automobiles, Uncle Buck, and just about every other Adam Hughes comedy. He had a gift for weaving slapstick, character and touching interpersonal relationships into an entertaining film. His movies can be just plain fun or deeply moving depending on how deeply you want to engage them. Well there's not much moving stuff in the Home Alone series, but they're still pretty entertaining even today.

Nah, I'll pass. Free post! :-)

Nope. This one's more recent.
